Ariel and the April Snow

Hi All!!!! I just wanted to share this "wonderful" weather that we are having today!!! Yes these pictures were taken today, April 24th, 2007, right out in my backyard!!! It is craziness!!! but as Grandma Lota always says, "If you don't like the weather in Colorado, wait a minute...". We have definitely found this statement to be true since we have lived here! Like this weekend is supposed to be in the high 70's....like I said: craziness!!! I also had to post some pictures of McKelle in her new Ariel dress-up outfit that Grandma Lewis sent...She hasn't taken it off all day and has started telling us to call her "Ariel". We've created a monster!!! I also better post a little of last nights events. We had a little scare last night when I started having contractions and our little lamb decided to quit moving around. I am only 29 weeks pregnant and so this was not a good thing! I went to the hospital and was having regular contractions about every 5 minutes and so they gave me a medicine called terbutaline, which was one of the worst experiences of my life! It made me very jittery and anxious, like I wanted to jump out of my skin! And my heartrate get up into the 140's. I felt like I was going to vomit! Needless to say it did stop the contractions and they sent me home to be on "partial" bedrest. (I just laughed at my doctor when she told me this... bedrest, even partial, with my kids is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE!!) Lucky for me I have a wonderful husband who took the day off to help me and let me rest. I love him so much!!! So there is my interesting news for the week!! I need my mom and brothers and sisters-in-laws to be close so they can bring me dinner!!!! :)

McKelle Macy Lamb

She is the beauty and the beast. She is my little Ellie. She has her own little world where she is the princess. She has a place she calls her "jungle" where there is butterflies and dragons and pink trees. She makes up songs and sings them out loud at the top of her lungs to nobody in particular. She is strong-willed and head-strong. She gives the best hugs and makes me laugh. Her blue eyes and long eyelashes can stop you in a glance, whether they are laughing or piercing (sometimes they change so quickly...). She loves to dress up and paint her nails (and mine and daddy's). She can melt you with a smile and an "I love you mommy", or make you so angry when she says "don't worry about it mommy, its supposed to be like that".... She loves to color and ask "why". She loves to do her own thing and brings sunshine into our home! I love you McKelle!!!!

Brand New Cousins!!!!

I just wanted to share these cute pictures of my new niece and nephew: Abby and Ashton!!! We are so glad that they made it home so soon! Aren't they beautiful???? I can't wait to hold them and I'm sure that I will be their favorite auntie....... Carter is so excited to have some new cousins and can't wait to meet them!!! Congrats to Brady and Kariann!! you guys did good x2!!!!
Look how tiny they are! their carseats just swallow them up!!! Ashton is just about to break 5 pounds and Abby is a little over 4 pounds!!!

Busy soccer Saturday...

We had a very busy Saturday today! We woke up, hurried and ate breakfast and ran off to the first event of the day: Carter's soccer game!!! It was a very fun game to watch! His team is learning how to play well together and pass to each other! They made some really good play's and Carter even scored a goal today!!!! He also was a very good defender and saved at least 4 goals from being scored on their team!!! Go Carter!!! It's so fun to see him try so hard and play well with a team!! His team is named "the snakes" (picked by the boys of course). It was pretty windy today and we were all bundled in blankets on the sideline! You can see that Carter is the tallest boy by a couple of inches! The last picture is of daddy and Ellie snuggling on the sidelines...cute....
We then rushed off to the stake center so Matt could play in the stake basketball championship with our ward! It was fun to watch, but they had a disappointing defeat. (We won't talk about the ending score or Matt gets a little touchy.... :) )
Next, Carter and Matt headed off to a fun birthday party at "The Jungle Quest". They had a great time on the climbing wall, zip lines, and other fun things. McKelle and I had some "girl time" and went out to lunch and then to the store.
Now we can relax and enjoy the gray, rainy skies from inside our warm house! The skies are so beautiful here - even when it rains! We have such a great view from our house! I feel so greatful for all of the blessings that have been given to my family. I am greatful for the divine guidance that brought us here to Parker, Colorado! It has been so wonderful for our family to have this experience! We miss our families so much, but we have grown stronger as a family in the process. We have already made such wonderful friends, and look forward to making many more. We are greatful for the church out here in the "mission field" - what a fun experience it is to see things from a different perspective!! Hope all is well with those we love!!!

Spring is finally here and we got out the bubbles and the bikes to celebrate!!!
Carter is a speed-demon on his bike and likes to ride as fast as he can....
Ellie just tries to keep up - she loves to follow big brother around!!!

This is what we've been up to for the last year....

GO BRONCOS!!! Ellie broke her arm after we had been moved in to our new house for about two weeks...At least she got a pink cast!!! Then we were hit with one of the biggest blizzards that Colorado has ever seen! we got 48 inches of snow in 24 hours! it was days before Christmas and we couldn't leave our house for about 3 days because the snow was too deep!!! It took Matt like 3 weeks to get our driveway completely clear!!! To the left is Carter and McKelle on Christmas! Our first Christmas in Denver!!!

What a cute couple on a trip back to Utah right after Christmas!!

Here are some pictures of our fun mesquite vacation....we are definitely missing the sunshine right now...I am watching it snow right now. (whoever heard of snow in April???) The kids loved the pool - they couldn't get enough of it!!! Carter wouldn't take off his goggles for a second - he thought that they were pretty cool!

Hi from Colorado!

Hi all! I just loved looking at everyone else's blog's so much that I thought I would try to do one of my own for our family....
I don't know anything about this - I'm learning as I go and Matt says that I am computer challenged so we will see......We are loving Colorado and our little house in Parker! The weather has been very interesting here and we love to wake up and see what the day will be like! We've gone from 80 degree weather to blizzard in 24 hours time. We've also gone from a beatiful 65 degrees in the afternoon to windy, rainy and cold in the evening. We survived the "winter blizzard" and are ready for some spring weather! Carter and I are very excited to start planting a garden and do some yard work. We set up our trampoline the other day and the kids have been loving it - especially Ellie - she will go out by herself and just start jumping and singing at the top of her lungs! She is usually in her own little world! We just got home from a "fun in the sun" trip to Mesquite and St. George! We left 88 degrees and came home to snow here in Colorado so it was quite a shock to the system! We had a great time! The kids already miss swimming everyday and staying in condo's...they love that! They had so much fun with their uncles, grandparents, and cousins on the Olsen side!
