Here are a few pictures from Badminton.

Jennifer's Badminton Season

Jennifer played badminton this season for the High School team. They all did a good job. The team improved so much over the season and ended up winning their last three matches. Jennifer did an awesome job. Way to go Jen! They are now in post season play for a few more weeks. They are looking forward to the Battle of the Birdies when they play against the football team. The football practices in the field across from the gym where the girls practice. It has been fun to watch the boys sneak over to catch a peek at the girls playing. It should be fun.

Josh makes the all star team!

Just a quick update on Josh. He was chosen to play on the junior high football all star team. We are so proud of him for working so hard this season and accomplishing this. He has done a great job.

Jacob is playing Tball

Jacob has been playing tball. He has done pretty good, except sometimes we see him sitting down playing in the dirt!

Josh has been playing flag football for the past 2 months on the Jr High team. He has been getting up at 5:30 am to go to practice and has never complained about it. He has enjoyed it. It has been fun to watch him play.

Happy Birthday Nathan...wow 41!

Happy Birthday Nathan! Nathan had another birthday and opened a gym the same day! Lots of stuff to celebrate that day. I am so proud of him for all the great things he has done in his life. Now he is busy running 2 businesses. It has been a lot of work but it is finally all coming together. The pictures from the gym aren't that great put I will post them anyway.

Finally an update!

With summer over and the kids back to school, I finally have a minute to post what we have been up to. Of course all the kids went back to school. Jonathan is back at Highland High School and is still in his self contained class, but is also taking Theatre and Clay. Jennifer started at the new high school. She seems to be liking it. She made the badminton team and they have their first match on Tuesday. Joshua started junior high and went out for the flag football team. He has to get up for practice at 5:30 am! It has been a long week for him. Jared started 4th grade and was accepted into the accelerated math program. Jacob started Kindergarten, he goes all day so I have a few hours with everyone gone. He has been loving it and thinks its pretty neat getting on the bus with Jared. I have been amazed how quickly he adjusted. All in all it has been a pretty good start to the school year.

So it seems like we just go from one birthday to the next this time of year--but Jared is now nine! Wow, very hard to believe. He had a great birthday. He wanted to go out to dinner and go see the movie UP, which was a very cute movie.

Jacob celebtrated his 5th birthday on May 27th. That was the fastest 5 years of my life! He is just growing up so fast. He had a great time. We rented a water bouncy and he invited some friends and they played on it for several hours.

Happy Easter everyone

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a nice day. The weather was perfect and Grandma Johnson flew in later that afternoon--just in time to share Easter dinner with us. I attempted my first homemade carrot cake--I am posting a picture cause I think it turned out pretty yummy!

Congratulations Jared! He did a great job at the pinewood derby!

He didn't have the fastest car, but he did get awarded the coolest car.

Jennifer and I decided to do a little project in between conference sessions. We think they turned out pretty cute. They are made with cake rolled into balls and then dipped in chocolate. Yum, Yum! We took a crack at some bunnies too--we loved their little tails!

Our Disneyland Trip was great!

We had such a fun time at Disneyland. We were able to get away and just relax and have fun with the kids. It was hard to come back to reality and have to go back to work and school. We'll just dream about it until we can go again!

Jacob's trip to the zoo

Jacob and his preschool class took a trip to the zoo. It was a beautiful day--the weather was just right and they all had a good time. The cheetah was especially neat to see.

Jared gets the game ball

Jared has been playing basketball this year again and has been doing a good job. His coach gives out a game ball to one of the boys every week. This week Jared got the game ball --he was so proud. Way to go Jared!

Roadshow Ideas

Nathan and I were asked to be on the roadshow committee. The theme is music and dancing. I am asking all you creative people out there to give me some ideas. Nothing has been done yet--there isn't a script or anything so it's wide open. Our first meeting is Sunday and I want to have some ideas to take so I don't look like a dope and they wonder why they asked us to help! I know you all have good ideas so please, please help.

My last Kindergarten Registration

It seems like lately there hasn't been much to write about--we've been busy but just nothing noteworthy. Today, though I went to the school to pick up the Kindergarten registration packet for Jacob. I realized this was the last time I would be registering a child for Kindergarten. Jon and Jen are always my firsts at everything, Josh and Jared are my OK I have done this before and I will be doing it again, but Jacob is the one I say to myself--Well, I won't be doing this again. Most of the time I'm pretty happy to say it too! I'm excited for him to start school--being that last one here he gets pretty bored and mom just isn't that exciting. So this will be just one of the many things I say--I won't be doing this again.

Iceland Poppies

When I went to buy my flowers this Fall for my flower garden I came across Icelandic Poppies. I decided to put them in my garden and see how they did. I have been watching them for the last several weeks and this morning as I was leaving for church I noticed that they had bloomed. It is the white and yellow one in the middle. I realize for most of you this is probably really boring but for me it was exciting. I wondered what it would look like and if it would bloom in the middle of winter--sure enough it did.

Can you believe that it is 2009! Time just moves so quickly. Hope you all are having a nice holiday break. We were able to sneak away after Christmas and take in some of the snow that fell in Utah the last few days. The kids have been having a great time playing in it. We had a great Christmas at home. We ate a nice Christmas Eve dinner and then the kids did the nativity for us. Thanks Josh for putting it all together. Then a fun morning of opening gifts and playing with the new things that Santa brought.
