Happy 7th Anniversary!

Did I just write "7th Anniversary?!"  Time sure flies.  I can't believe we have been married for 7 whole years already.  It has been an amazing ride so far.  I am so grateful that I get to spend eternity with Justin.  I am one lucky lady!  I couldn't ask for anything more.

We celebrated our 7th anniversary on December 17th.  Justin made surprise plans for us!  He took me out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, The Bombay House.  I think we have gone out for Indian food the last 5 years on our anniversary.

After dinner he took me to the mall so I could buy some boots I had been wanting to buy.  Justin does not like shopping.  Now that is true love :)

We had to be to the last event of the evening at a certain time, so I thought it might be some kind of a show or movie.  We parked at a school, and I thought it was some kind of school musical production.  I was wrong.  Justin got us tickets to see The Forgotten Carols!  I LOVE that book!  We read it as a family when I was growing up.  It is one of my favorites.  The show was great!

What a guy!  How did I get so lucky?  I couldn't have asked for a better night.  I Love You Justin!

Christmas Photoshoot

I took some pictures of Emme and Charlie in front of the tree to send to our parents for Christmas.  They were so good for the camera.  I only had to take a few pictures because they turned out so well.  The first one is my favorite and I just think the second one is fun!

Cookies and Fudge

Charlie loves his food... especially sweets.  This is the aftermath of his first Oreo cookie.

Justin's mom was famous for her Christmas fudge.  We try to make it every year.  This was Charlie's first taste of Grandma King's fudge.  I think he's a fan!

I just love his expression in this picture.

All done!

I love how he crosses his feet when he sits in his booster seat.

Santa and Frontrunner

The grocery store Macey's has Santa come to their store every December.  They have a lot of fun activities around the store, and some good food to sample.  This is the 3rd year we have gone.  Emme was excited to see Santa, but got really shy when it was our turn.  Charlie wanted nothing to do with it, so Santa told Justin to sit on his lap with Charlie!  Don't they all look so happy?  I will never forget Justin sitting on Santa's lap!

Emme got reindeer antlers and a requested a purple Rudolph nose.

Charlie was having a rough day and didn't want the antlers either.

After we saw Santa we headed over to the Provo Frontrunner station.  They were giving free rides from Provo to Salt Lake for the grand opening of the Provo route that week.  The line was so long and it was freezing outside.  We waited for over an hour.  We just made the cut off for the train when we got on.  If we didn't make it I was going home!

The ride was great once we got on the train.  We brought and ate lunch and snacks.  Emme and Charlie enjoyed watch out the window.  Charlie's favorite part was seeing cars and other trains.  It was so much fun that Charlie fell asleep on the way back to Provo.

Elf on the Shelf

Our family was lucky to get an Elf on the Shelf this year.  He appeared in our house on December 1st.  Emme named him Chris, "Like Kris Kringle."  We read the Elf on the Shelf book with her and explained what he does and all the rules.  We really enjoyed having him around during the holidays.  One of the rules is that you cannot touch him or his magic will disappear.  Justin was such a tease and would get Emme so upset pretending to touch him.  Here are a couple highlights.

Chris provided our FHE treat one night.

It was marshmallows, naturally!

He made Emme a quilt for her dolls out of some scraps from a blanket I made her.  It was his going away gift for her.  I guess he knows how to use the timer on the camera!

It was a lot of fun having Christ join our family this year.  We are looking forward to having him back next year!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.  We had dinner at Justin's Aunt Ruth's church building in Highland with a bunch of our family.  I was so excited for Thanksgiving food, and I was not disappointed.  After dinner we went up to Kaysville to stay a few days at Justin's house.  This was the best picture we could get of our family.

I love that Charlie and Justin look like twins in their plaid shirts.

Ogden has a Christmas village that opened over Thanksgiving weekend.  They have beautiful decorated houses and lights in the trees, plus a lot more.  We went two years ago and wanted to take Emme and Charlie again this year.  It was cold, but a lot of fun!

Charlie got to see a fire truck up close.  It totally made his day!
