Well Thursday night around 6:30 we headed north to Iowa for a weekend with family! We were used to stopping only once for gas and to let the dog out at the half way point! There was no such luck this time. We had to stop every 2 hours or so to let me use the restroom and walk around in the freezing cold just so my legs felt ok! We finally arrived around 3am on Friday morning and slept in a little on Friday. We were so tired! But Kali wasn't as tired apparently as she could hear Libbie free downstairs and wanted to say hi. So after about 30 minutes of trying to get her back to sleep we finally said forget it and got up!
We got to eat lunch at the school in Sloan with Natalie and Kade (we brought Subway!!). It was a lot of fun getting to hang out with them. Then spoke with several of Kelly's old teachers (vocal and wrestling coach). That was a good time for him to catch up. Then it was off to Sioux City to find a pair of pants for me since I had left my jeans hanging in the drying closet at home! It's a little harder when you are limited to maternity! Oh well. We finally found a pair of dress pants and I actually liked them. Then we went out with the family to HuHot Mongolian Buffet. I never knew a chinese buffet could be so expensive! It was 43 dollars for just Kelly and I! Can't do that very often.
On Saturday we hung out together and had french toast that Kody made. It was good. Then we headed to Sioux City to look at lighting for Sharon's newly remodeled bath room! And of course had to head to a few places to look for baby Husker items. I had seen a strawberry mousse on the food network and had it in my mind to make a chocolate, strawberry, and banana trifle! So I picked up everything to make it and it was pretty good! Emery cooked chicken and Jill had rolls and potatoes and I did dessert! It was a fun evening.
The whole day Kody and Kelly teased Sharon that the blizzard was coming in. The weather channels had predicted it to begin by 4pm on Saturday but they don't believe weathermen. So they made fun of them all day long. Of course the next day we had snow and after packing the car in the freezing cold we decided to leave before church for fear that the trip might take a little longer than normal. Again we stopped every 2 hours and the trip ended up being over 9 hours! It was a lot of driving in a short time frame for a pregnant lady. Kelly was a good sport getting me to walk around and stretch but I knew it was driving him crazy to stop! All I know is if it was this uncomfortable at the beginning of April, mid June is going to be a little harder! Too bad we can't teliport!!!
Of course Kelly's dad doesn't want to know what the baby is or his name. It was super hard this this weekend not to say anything! Between Kelly and Sharon slipping I am sure he knows! I slipped once too but not quite as loudly as the others! His dad even said a prayer for the baby and said "help him to grow up strong"! So I think he knows and is just faking that he doesn't!
Hope everyone is doing well! Kelly and I are busy with school and preparing for our little Jackson!
