"Daddy, Jesus is there!"

As we were sitting down to watch General Conference this morning we were listening to beautiful music the Tabernacle choir was singing. As they were singing Chase looked at Ryan and said "Daddy, Jesus is there!" I know at that time that he was feeling the spirit, what a sweet little boy!

"My Perfect is not your Perfect"...

A few months ago a woman in our ward gave a talk and she said about her life..."My perfect is not your perfect", I love that quote and have carried it with me since then.

Two years ago our little family packed up and moved across the country to Boise, Idaho for a job that Ryan got after graduating from school. He was working hard for our family, I was staying home with kids, we bought our first house, and thought all was going well.

Then he was one of 14 in his company to get laid-off. I was devastated...I admit it...devastated. There were lots of tears and worry.

About 2 weeks after he was laid off I was able to find a full time job working at one of the local hospitals. I started at the end of June and Ryan was going to be Mr. Mom. I worried about this decision to go back to work...because for the last three years I had been home during the day with the kids...was he going to do the laundry the right way, get the kids to their appointments, know how Chase likes to have a story before naptime or pick up Kylee from school on time...etc.

I feel very blessed to have a husband that is willing to stay home with the kids at this point in time....he is an amazing husband and father and does a wonderful job with Kylee and Chase. It breaks my heart each and everyday to leave all of them. I am sad that when Kylee starts school again next week, I won't be the one picking her up and hearing all about her day or that I won't have that time to just be with Chase during the day like I was looking forward to doing when Kylee started going to school all day...

I know my Heavenly Father loves our family and has blessed us beyond measure during this time...I am grateful to have a job at this time...a job that has made me realize how truly blessed my family really is.

I just keep remembering that sister that gave the talk in church that said "My perfect is not your perfect"...this situation may not be what I had in mind when we moved across the country 2 years ago, but it is what works for our family at this time.

Again I am truly grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that blesses my family. I can see his hand in our lives each day. I know that with him and our Savior Jesus Christ by our side we will continue to move forward and through our trials with their help and love.

Prayers...

I usually have a very hard time asking for help but it is with a humble heart that I ask the few people who read this blog to please keep our family in your prayers...for those of you who do not know...Ryan lost his job on Monday due to the economic downturn we are all experiencing. His company laid off 14 people and he was one of them. It came as a quite a shock as we were unprepared for this and had no idea that this was in the works for his company.

I know that we prevail over this trial with our loving Heavenly Father's help and love, but it still is hard to remember that on a daily basis sometimes. I have my ups and downs about all of it every day, so if I seem teary eyed and upset you will know why...again I ask that you will pray for our family and the other 13 families that lost their jobs on Monday...

Thank you so much for all the love and support that we have already received...we will move forward and prevail...Thanks everyone, we love you all!

There's no place like home...

Tornado Warning, Weather spotter, Funnel Cloud...what do these words have in common?

They are words that I thought I would probably never hear again on a news report once we moved from Kansas to Idaho.

Today as I was catching up on blogs and emails I had the TV on so I could listen to a basketball game in the background...the game really caught my attention when I heard the local meteorologist break in to say that we were under a tornado warning and that a tornado had been spotted in the sky near Emmett ( a town about 30 miles north) by a trained weather spotter.
What...
Breaking into television coverage in Kansas due to the weather is an almost daily thing especially during the spring, but it never (never say, never) almost never happens here in Idaho. It is just funny to sit here and see/ listen to the weather we are having right now...thunder/lightning, heavy rain, hail, strong winds (strong enough to blow Ryan's grill off the patio).
I love Idaho, but the weather today makes me think...

There's no place like home...

*** Just a side note, by the time I finished typing this, the rain, hail, and winds had stopped. It rains for about 5 minutes here and everyone thinks it has "rained"...no that is just a sprinkle..."Raining" is when it rains from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with no stopping...nothing like Kansas/Midwest rains...

Funny...

I saw some of these cartoons on another blog and thought they were funny. I picked a couple of my favorites...head over to 9th ward cartoons to see more...

I know this is how Ryan and I feel after sacrament meeting sometimes with Chase...does anyone else ever feel that way?
