Bye Bye Summer... Hello Fall!!!

The Annual River Trip...

Every Labor Day we say goodbye to summer when the Compton side of the family congregates in New Braunfels.   "The Other Place" welcomed 3 new guests this year!! The new cousins had such a great time getting to know all of the crazy family!!

The girls hanging out on the river bank...

We managed to throw Robyn and Justin a surprise engagement party... complete with slide show, champagne, cupcakes and happy tears!!! Everyone is so excited about the big day!!!

 Shopping with Daddy in Gruene...

Hanging out with her Paw Paw on the Comal River...

The New House...

We have so much to do but we are absolutely LOVING our new house!!! It has been a complete lifestyle change.  Drew is able to come home for lunch and he is home at a decent time without the stress of Houston traffic.  We have already met many of our neighbors and can't wait for the neighborhood Halloween parade!  We have painted a total of 6 rooms with at least 4 more to go! Here are some outside pics...

The Oklahoma Trip...

Oh boy did we have a big time in Oklahoma!!!! Talk about a busy and fun filled 10 days... Delaney stayed with her Lala ( Lisa) over night while Drew and I went to the OU game... this was her first time to stay the night with out Drew and I and she did GREAT!!!

The flight...

Before we left for the game...

Saying "Hello" to her Pappy before the game...

She got chocolate pudding for breakfast at Lala's house with Great Gandma Joyce and Great Aunt Robyn... they knew to do this while I was 2 hours away!! :)

Drew and I spent many hours at O'Connells in Norman during our college years...
it was pretty fun to take Delaney!! Many memories!!!

Her first trip to the zoo in OKC with our friends Heather and Paige!
The girls played all afternoon... Delaney had SUCH a great time!!!

Playing in the park with her Aunt Danya! Delaney and I also made our first trip to Hinton with Joe and Danya... We ate dinner with his wonderful family and then went to the circus!  She was soooo exhausted from the day but I am so glad we went.  Joe's nephews are absolutely precious!

This is her favorite book right now... She was sitting in the floor of the hotel watching
Wheel of Fortune... I guess she picked the wrong letter?!?!

She and I went back to Tulsa Wednesday morning... our first stop was at Lisa's school.  She met all the teachers and kiddos! Thursday, Drew and I were able to hang out with Amy and Justin which was LONG over due!!!! Friday, we went to Hominy to the Brown Ranch to finish the trip.  Delaney met her new cousin Tinsley, all the cows, horses and dogs, DROVE the feed truck and went to her first car show!  Her Pappy, Uncle Don and Cousin Jason had a pretty successful day at the show... Delaney just enjoyed playing in all the cars!

This picture pretty much sums up our trip!  It was an absolutely WONDERFUL trip and we feel SOOOO blessed to have such fantastic Oklahoma family and friends!!!!!
If anyone else has pictures from our trip I would LOVE to have them!!!

When we got home, my Mom met us at the airport to pick up Delaney so Drew and I
could meet some friends at the Texans game!

Another Zoo Trip...

Since Delaney loved the zoo so much in OKC, my Mom and I decided to take her to the Houston Zoo last week.  Of all things, her favorite was the fish!

The carousel was okay until I wasn't sitting behind her...
we ended up sitting in the carriage instead of on an animal... oh well...

She was pretty tired so she didn't have much interest in petting the goats...

The FISH!!!!

So, she is not walking yet but will let go, stand by herself, walk holding our hands or walk behind her toys.  I am thinking it can't be too far away! She says Mama, Dada and Pup Pup and unfortunately Pup Pup is her favorite... she will pick out a puppy from miles away... lots of other animals are Pup Pups too! She is pointing at everything, holds her phone (or remote) up to her ear, looks at books and gets into everything!

The funniest thing right now is her fake laugh... If she hears anyone around her laughing, she wants in!!  Then of course you laugh at her for laughing at you and so on! :)

This fall will be busy with Halloween, a 1st birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!
BRING ON THE FALL WEATHER!!!!!!!

XOXO,
Somer and Delaney

Soooo much to tell...

Take a deep breath.... here is an update on all that has been going on with the H-Town Browns...

Parks’ Week on the Beach- Delaney and I spent the week in Galveston with Drew’s family.  We all had such a great time and DJ loved having someone to show off for 24/7… quite the performer!   I believe the sand was her favorite part of the trip…

The Baptism- Oh boy, do we have a little ham on our hands!  Not only did she attempt to put her hands in the baptismal cup but she talked to everyone though the sermon and when the Pastor went to carry her down the center aisle of the church she somehow got her dress hiked up and vigorously kicked her legs for the big screen! We were overwhelmed with the support our friends and family showed on D’s big day… it was truly a blessed occasion!

 God parents...

Big News- In the midst of a long day of packing for the move my sister called with some fantastic news… She and Justin are engaged!!!!!  She wants Delaney to be her flower girl… should be interesting to say the least! Ha!  We are looking forward to the big day and could not be happier about my future brother in law.
The future Mr. and Mrs. Shemo...

The Move- Packing, packing and more packing!! Our lives currently reside in 2 monster storage buildings awaiting the new home!  Thankfully, my parents offered us a room for a few weeks while we get closed on what will be the 4th house in our almost 5 year marriage! I know… we are crazy but we plan to stay in this one for a long time… wink, wink… It is our forever house! We will be 3 miles from Drew’s office and in our favorite part of Houston with great surroundings and even better schools. I have to keep telling myself it will all be worth it… and it will! J

Lake Austin – A week of water and wedding planning, what more could a girl ask for? We began by booking Robyn’s wedding venue and dress shopping.  My super decisive sister bought a dress on the first shopping trip! For someone like myself, this seems impossible but I must say; it is absolutely the perfect dress!  The rest of the week included great food, great company, lots of water skiing, boating and sun shine!
Dress shopping with Auntie Robyn...

Driving the boat...

Drew was coaching...

Apparently coaching is hard work...

M-I-L Visit- Last week Lisa (Drew’s Mom ) and Robyn (Drew’s Aunt) drove down to get one more Delaney fix before they had to start back to school.  Memories!!!!!!!! They brought her the cutest pigtails (picture below) and we had quite the exciting shopping trip. Take my word for it… you do not want a picture of that!

Looking Forward- Within the next week we should be homeowners again and working on unpacking all… those… boxes!  For all of our Oklahoma peeps … we are working on an OKC/Tulsa trip the last week of September… details to come!

If you are still reading after all that rambling, here are a few more pics that should brighten your day…

My get-away in Dallas for the Rihanna concert with the girls... yes... the stage caught fire!

God is Great!!!

This week we have had everything from life threatening scares to the greatest blessings God can give! Saturday my Pappi went to the hospital to find out he'd had a stroke.  Being that he is 87, this was incredibly scary and the prognosis was all over the board.  I am so thankful that today I can say he is already home!  At one point we thought this day could have been weeks if not months away but GOD IS GREAT and just days later he walked up the stairs at their beach house with only a prescription for some home therapy, use of a cane and to be on his very best behavior!

This picture is from Memorial weekend... it does my heart good to know Pappi will be able to hold his great granddaughter many more times!!!!!! We love you Mamaw and Pappi!!!!

Another great blessing... I got news this morning that Drew's cousin Darrah had her little girl Tinsley this morning and both mommy and baby are doing great! We can't wait to meet the new addition!!!

Drew and I took D for her 6 month check up last week! The doctor was very pleased with her growth and progress... she weighed 16 pounds, 6 ounces and was 26.25 inches long! Growing soooo fast!!!!  This week she figured out how to pull herself up, get on her hands and knees (even though she's not going anywhere) and drink out of a sippy cup!

We were able to make a trip to Austin 2 weeks ago for a friend's wedding and see my awesome sister at the same time! It was a wonderful, much needed trip!  Delaney got in the swimming pool for the first time and was actually quiet for the wedding ceremony!

Drew's Mom (Lala) came to visit in May... We had such an amazing weekend!!

As far as our house goes... we have re-listed with a new realtor! She is a real go getter; Drew and I believe she will really work hard to get the house sold.  We can only pray that a buyer comes along who loves it as much as we have!

This week we are preparing for soooooo many great things... The Park's family (Drew's Mom's side) will be making the journey to Galveston next week for the big reunion.  Delaney's baptism will be on the 26th so the rest of the Brown Family, Compton Family and Harvey Family will be in town as well!!!!! Drew and I are beyond excited and can't wait to share that special day with everyone we love!

Here are a few more pictures from Memorial weekend at the beach house....
Gumbo pot of the stove and crabs in the sink!!! YUMMY!!!!!!!

Hanging with Daddy on the boat...

 Baby pool time with Mom....

Much Love,
Somer and Delaney

Growing, growing, growing!!!

I'm sorry it has been so long since my last post... Delaney is sitting by herself, rolling all over the place, sleeping on her tummy and saying "mama" like crazy... not that she really knows what she is saying... but I LOVE hearing it!!!!!!  We started eating food!!! The rice cereal was okay, apple sauce made her literally gag but sweet potatoes have been a hit so far!!

 Sweet potatoes....

She made her first trip to Kilgore!! Mommy went to Revels with the girls while Daddy watched her in the hotel.  After the show we all went to dinner! She loved it and can't wait to be a Rangerette!! Hahaha!! :)

We spent Easter weekend down at the beach house...

The pool was her Easter present from Mamaw and Pappi!

After church...

Her basket from Mommy and Daddy...

Ready to go swimming again...

Taking a nap instead....

Driving DeeDee's convertible!

Next week LaLa (Lisa) Is coming to visit and we can't wait!! Soooo looking forward to seeing her!!  Our house is still on the market and haven't gotten a single offer yet... please pray that we get some more activity.  The bling business is going strong!!

Love Ya'll,
Somer and Delaney
