"Throughout our lives, we must deal with change. Some changes are welcome; some are not. There are changes in our lives which are sudden, such as the unexpected passing of a loved one, an unforeseen illness, the loss of a possession we treasure. But most of the changes take place subtly and slowly. Day by day, minute by minute, second by second we went from where we were to where we are now. The lives of all of us, of course, go through similar alterations and changes. The difference between the changes in my life and the changes in yours is only in the details. Time never stands still; it must steadily march on, and with the marching come the changes. This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now. Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family. One day each of us will run out of tomorrows. " Thomas S. Monson

Sea World Trip 2010...

Better late then never! I have been trying to find these pictures from last August when we took our first family trip just the 4 of us. We went back to California for our 7yr anniversary and nicks 26th birthday, we always wanted to go back to sea world where nick asked me to marry him but every year something always came up so finally kaylin was old enough to have fun there and kiptin was 7 months old so we decided "why not" and took off for a few days!!! Kaylin LOVED all the animals and shows we saw, both boys LOVED LOVED the beach and playing in the sand and water even though the water was so cold! Here are some pictures from our trip!

Kaylins Heaven....

The other day kaylin and I were sitting at the table eating lunch just the two of us...sitting at the table you can see two pictures of Jesus, Kaylin said to me "mom we are here to follow God's commandments uh" and i smiled and said "yes, we are here to fallow God's commandments so we can go back to heaven with him" kaylin stopped and got teary eyed and said in really sad face and voice, "i don't want to go to heaven though mom" i replied "why not, that's what we are here to do, obey all the commandments and get back to heaven" kaylin says "because i will be all alone and i wont have my family" i couldn't help but laugh a little. I said, "you have lots of family there waiting to see you again already, and mommy and daddy will be there and your brother, all your family will be in heaven with you if we all fallow God's commandments". Then he got a little more sad and a tear rolled down his face and he said in a crying kind of voice "but i wont have any toys there or my Wii and games" I just lost it when he said that it was so cute of him and he was really really worried about not having toys. Nick and I told him if he really wanted toys there we are sure Jesus would give him some toys!

A few days later (just yesterday actually) kaylin was playing with his cousin brayden and grandpa haslem and grandpa had lots of scrapes and they were bleeding, this is what was said....

kaylin: grandpa you have blood on your arm
(grandpa looks)
kaylin: more blood, more blood, lots of blood
(grandpa was bleeding in a few spots on his knee and fingers and arm)
kaylin looked at grandpa and said to him

"Grandpa your going to be in heaven soon"

Love this kid so much, he says that funniest things all the time, what a sweet kid to be around!!! we love you kaylin boy!

good advice!

Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib, not from his feet to be walked on, not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal! Under the arm to be protected, & next to the heart to be loved.
