"Happy Day" - Expanding on Stamp and Stencil Techniques

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! Just a quick card for today using a stencil technique and your ink pads. 

The first step is to cut out a stencil of a word with your favourite die cutting machine - I chose the word "happy." Next, temporarily adhere the stencil (I just made a paper stencil AKA the die cut negative) to your card. Finally, using various inks and stamps, stamp repeatedly within the stencil to get a cool looking design! I used some small "dot" and "open dot" stamps, but I think small hearts, starts, etc. would look cute as well. I used different coloured inks for different parts of the word, but I think an ombre effect of one colour would be another great variant of this card.

To finish off the card, I added the word "day", which was also die cut (I also covered it with my clear Wink of Stella pen, but you cannot see the shine in the pictures). The blue ink splots were made using Heidi Swapp Colour Shine and by delicately controlling the splatters.

Clean and Simple Inspirational Card

Hello Everyone,
Hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Final exams are coming up soon, so I may not be posting as regularly. Our blog and community is expanding rapidly, and I'd like to thank everyone who is supporting me along this journey. Today's card is more of an "inspirational" card that would be wonderful to give if someone is feeling down. 

This card was made using a stamp set from Unity Stamps called "Birdie Inspiration". The cardstock is from Recollections and the patterned paper is from a MME 6x6 paper pack. 

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then coloured on top of some of the words with my Copic markers. DISCLAIMER: the tips of the Copic markers changed colour, but did not seem to affect the performance of the marker.

The card base was stamped with a floral stamp, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The card was finished with some teal ribbon, white dash lines, and rounded corners. This card came together in under 15 minutes, so if you are in a crunch, try making something similar!

Lawn Fawn Year Three: One Layer Birthday Card Set

Happy Saturday Everyone,
Today I thought I would share a cute set of cards that would be wonderful to give as a gift! These cards use a variety of products from Lawn Fawn, and Simon Says Stamp (all products will be listed below). Let's see what they look like: 

All cards were made using a masking technique. I first cut out a mask of the birthday cake, then temporarily adhered it to the card base. Next, I stamped the background, then finished by stamping the "real" cake. All images were coloured using Copic markers.

I love the monochromatic theme of this one! Imagine replicating this card using different schemes of a monochromatic colour palate... so many possibilities.

The teal and mustard yellow really combine nicely on this cute birthday cake! If you haven't noticed (or cannot see in the pictures), I have used a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on all the birthday cake's icing. 

The last one! I wanted to cary over the mustard yellow onto this card, and combined it with a coral pink/orange colour. I think this one turned out well too. To make the background, I linked up a small square stamp from a "Simon Says Stamp" stamp set, and interlocked the pattern together - it really looks like I just used one stamp.

Fox Card - Cricut Wild Card 2 "Happy Birthday"

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone had a chance to check out my giveaway the other day! If not, make sure to scroll down and enter the drawing for a chance to win a Cricut & Cuttlebug bundle. Onto today's card. This card was made using the Wild Card 2 Cricut Cartridge; I love the designs on there so much. Hope you all enjoy: 

As previously mentioned, the fox was cut out using the Wild Card 2 Cartridge. His layers are easy to assemble, and comes together very quickly.

For the card base, I started with Kraft cardstock. I then stamped a woodgrain image onto the base with brown ink; didn't it turn out so cute? 

The card was easily finished off with some green patterned paper, and a Happy Birthday sentiment cut out on a banner. This card would be great to mass produce for gifts, parties, etc.

Hogs and Kisses - Cute and Clean Birthday Card & Giveaway!

Hello Everyone,
Today I decided to share a cute card I made the other day using embossing paste, embossing powder and my Cricut. I think the card came out super cute:

I first used white embossing paste (light modelling paste) and a triangle pattern stencil to create the background. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled on gold embossing powder, which was then left overnight to dry. In the morning, I used my heat tool to melt the powder; the triangles have a great sheen and sparkle to them... they turned out great! 

This cute pig was cut out using the Create a Critter 2 cartridge. Assembly was easy as always, and I adhered her to the card with dimensionals. 

I finished the card off by adding a sentiment from a retired My Pink Stamper stamp set, rounding the corners and adhering a little heart punch out (from a Studio G punch). All in all, I am very happy with the way this card turned out.
