Pumpkin Patch 2020!

We weren't going to let 2020 get us down, so trying to have some bit of normalcy, we made plans to meet up with Amy and Laura at Great Country Farms pumpkin patch.

(Side note, speaking of Covid, we almost didn't make it! Lance had attended a campout the weekend before with a person that came down with covid-like symptoms. We cancelled our family pictures and waited at home to hear if the guy tested positive or not. We got the word he was negative the morning we were scheduled to be at the pumpkin patch, so we threw the kids in and drove the 2 hours and made our time slot by the skin of our teeth. Stupid covid.)

The pumpkin patch never disappoints. The kids had a blast, especially since cousins were there!

Baby goat!

Making friends with the ducks

True to form, Valerie wasn't too sure about the slides and refused to go down by herself, but managed to have fun on Mom's lap.

Lance has really matured over the last year or so. He is quite helpful with the little kids and I genuinely enjoy his company.

Even though we have chickens at home, our kids had fun trying to feed these chickens the corn from the random cobs they found in the corn maze.

Hayride to the pumpkin patch!

Valerie wasn't too sure what she was supposed to do with all the pumpkins.

Dad had to work, so couldn't make it.

All the cousins enjoyed trying to find "gems" and stones at the mining area. Lily and Lexi convinced me to buy a couple mining bags and they spent a solid 30 minutes carefully combing through the sand and silt to find their treasures.

Even Lance helped out

Cassidy, Lexi, and Valerie are super cute together. I'm so glad they get to grow up with each other as friends.

Helping Valerie up the bouncy pillow

With Cassidy's help, Valerie finally decided it was fun to jump. This girl takes forever to warm up to just about anything new, but once she does she usually loves it.

These kids are two peas in a pod. They spent a good 20 minutes together extracting the perfect feathers from the peacock and turkey enclosures.

It was a perfect day.
