A Yarn to Tell

Image
Iris Keeper of the Rainbow Due to needing whole pages for participation in the HAED Challenges, I'd skipped ahead and completed page 4 and 5 on Iris.  So I've gone back to finish working on page 3.  The confetti has again gotten the better of me though and I've not yet gotten the page finish I'd hoped for! At this stage it's not looking like I will finish my yearly goals, but I'll keep stitching anyway! Previous progress: Some more progress: Current Progress:  T- Shirt Yarn I took a short break from stitching this week to work on a crafty side project. I've been making t-shirt yarn! A visit to several local Op Shops supplied a fantastic range of different coloured t-shirts to cut up. After washing them all I laid them out on the floor and there ended up being 29 t-shirts: T-shirt yarn is an awesome way to recycle used or old t-shirts lying around.  Not to mention any money spent at local Charity Shops goes to a great cause! Queen of Confetti!

The Queen of Spades Sends Her Regards, Then What? I've been stitching away on "The Queen of Spades" and hoped to have a page finish to reveal today... There is just so much confetti it didn't happen! It's been so refreshing to switch to a different piece, after spending what must've been months on Iris! I didn't realize just how much having a rotation of different projects keeps me motivated and inspired. Switching between pieces is fun, it creates excitement and keeps things interesting... Previous Progress: Current progress: Have an awesome weekend! Happy Stitching, xxx

Treasure Hunt Update

I’ve finished the top row on the Treasure Hunt Bookshelf Crop! I have just started stitching the lantern and the colors are still amazing! You can just make out the word “Book” on the pink book.  Actually it kind of looks more like "Boo!"  Unfortunately the detail of the book titles is not that clear, but I still think it’s a lovely chart. This is the normal size version so the titles would possibly be clearer on the larger version chart. I don’t normally grid my stitching but have found it helpful to do so with the confetti in this chart. Stitched on 18 Count Aida 3 over 1 Full Cross Before October Update:

Rewards Program

I finished Umbrella Sky in time to enter the Heaven & Earth Rewards Program (runs until the end of August).   The chart I picked for the reward is Iris Keeper of the Rainbow by Josephine Wall.   I seem to be getting quite a collection now! This is a huge chart at 450x600 stitches! I think it will be awhile before I start Iris... I almost completed half a page of Josephine's Spirit of Flight.  However, looking at it last night have decided I need to restart using different fabric.  I started it on 22 count Charles Craft hardanger fabric and definitely prefer the quality of the Zweigart branded hardanger I used on Umbrella...    Dahlig was also a very different stitch to Jo Wall!  The blocks of color in Dahlig pattern were easier to make look neat on the 22ct hardanger.  However, when you add a whole lot of confetti into the picture it makes it more difficult.   I thinking I will get some 20 count Aida or Bellana...  The stitches need slightly more room with t

I'm getting sooooo close to a finish on this! All the confetti has really slowed the process down.
