Anasazi Hike

After Thanksgiving, we decided to take a hike to see some steps the Anasazi Indians cut out of the red rock. Unfortunately, we were misdirectey by another hiker, and ended up at some Anasazi Ruins. Not a bad little hike. It's better to hike in the fall than in the dead heat of summer.

Poor 'ol Dad

Carving pumkins as a family is always a blast...look how happy Livie is!
What started as a family project, quickly turned to Dad finishing all the work...and cleaning up all the mess.

Maddie Turns 7

Maddie turned 7 and, she had a great birthday. When she was asked where she would like to eat for her birthday, she first said Red Lobster. I'm not sure where this fascination for seafood came from. She quickly remembered her NEW favorite place, and asked to go to the "Golden Canal". In case someone out there has never heard of the "Golden Canal", it is often mistakenly referred to as Golden Corral. She would rather get her own ice cream then have some one bring it to her singing "Happy Birthday". The staff at Golden Corral sang to her anyway. Happy Birthday Maddie!

On the following Saturday, Maddie invited a few friends over to the house for a Hannah Montana Birthday Bash! Even Grandma Susan made it to the party, where the girls played Witch Bingo, made Halloween crafts, and did their best Edward from Twilight impression (look closely).

First Day of School - Emmie and Livie

First day of Preschool for Emmie and Livie
Their Preschool is close enough to walk...that is not my lawn!

First Day of School - Maddie

I know we're a little late, but here are the pix from Maddie's first day of First Grade...and it was a little bright that morning.
I don't know why, but you always need to stand by a tree on your first day of First Grade

Her school is too far to walk, and too close for the bus...so, mom is the bus driver

Zions

Matt and Ruth came to see us this weekend, so we took a trip to Zions. It was a great day for a hike...not too hot and just a little breezy. The girls enjoyed the hike, seeing the friendly squirrels, and playing in the river. Sophie struggled this time...she just hates being in her stroller.

Prayers are like puzzles...

Maddie gave a talk in Primary today, and we wanted her family and friends to be able to see it. Since we didn't want to film her in chruch, we set up a make-shift church in our kitchen and she gave her talk to the film crew...her family.

Gophers?

Yes, we have gophers! At least, we had a gopher.
My friends at IFA hooked me up with this sweet trap, and less than 12 hours later, no more gopher.

Round and round

Sophie likes to just hang out at the pool.

See you soon!

Since we live so far away now, we hope to see you soon! If your lucky, you can stay with us

Summer Work Party

I don't recall ever entering a pie eating contest; so, this was the first...
and the last!
I about lost it after the first few slurps! At least it wasn't a fruit pie...you all know how much I like fruit.

Girls just wanna have fun!

So I am new to the blogging addiction but I can feel the powers it has already. Here are my cutie pie's.

Our little Sophie Kartoffel

Sophie entertains us all day long. Whether she is playing house, playing school, playing Subway, or coloring all over the couch. You will always hear her saying "hi" as she is doing something naughty. No matter what she has a smile on her face.

Emmie's Video

After many, many years, Dad finally finished Emmie's video. I don't know what took me so long, but I like the results. Hopefully, Sophie won't have to wait as long.
