Halloween, Thanksgiving and Life

It's been a while since I blogged. So here's what's been happening in our lives the last two months.

Halloween was fun. We had two parties to attend----the Harvard Law Children's club and our ward party---both were great. Marcus was a dinosaur/dragon. He was super cute crawling around with the little spikes on his back. A big thanks to his cousin Carson for giving him the costume :). Dave and I dressed up as Dr. Who and his latest companion Amy Pond. Nobody really knew who we were---but we loved it! We are definitely Dr. Who fans in this house.

In October Dave and I also had the chance to go to a tennis match at TD Gardens. It was a lot of great players that have "retired" I guess from the big competitions. Their names were Pete Sampras (Dave's favorite), John McEnroe, Jim Courier and Ivan Lendl. So if you know tennis, they're great players and it was really cool to watch them play. Dave's hero growing up was Pete Sampras---so he really enjoyed going :)

In November we went to see "The Breakers" mansion in New Port, RI. I've been before with my parents and my sisters---but it was Dave's first time. It was fun to finally take him there---such a beautiful place.

We shared Thanksgiving this year with my cousin Jessica who lives in Albany, NY. My aunt and uncle and other cousin were there too---so it was great to have so much family there! Marcus napped through the whole feast. I was sad he missed it---but happy to eat my dinner uninterrupted :).

Dave is wrapping up his last final today, and tomorrow we leave for the long drive to Michigan for Christmas. We're excited to visit family and have a break from school! We are stopping at Niagara Falls on our way out to break up the trip, and staying with a friend in Rochester on the way back.

Marcus is doing great---he's getting closer to walking. He loves to walk holding our hands, but hasn't braved walking on his own yet. He is getting taller and stronger too. He likes to kick his feet while I'm feeding him in his high chair--so I have to keep my distance to avoid bruises. He's a very good clapper and is exploring a lot of noises lately. No real words yet though. He will be 11 months on 24 Dec. Almost one year!

I'm going to start working from home---booking flights for the missionary travel office like I used to before we moved out here. So that'll give me more to do----and I'm hoping it won't be too much. I'm excited to and happy to help them out :)

I'll give the full Christmas report when we get back in January. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas---and remember the reason for the season:

Family Pictures

We went on a walk yesterday with some friends at Mt. Auburn Cemetery and took some family pictures. We left the camera on manual by accident, so they didn't turn out as well as hoped. But still pretty good :)

The Robertson, our wonderful photographers :)

Harvard Football Game

We went to our first Harvard Football Game. They played against Bucknell. It was a free day for the community, and they gave us food vouchers--sweet! We had a great time!

Enjoying the game together!

Our wonderful friends, the Youngs :)

Geiger parents visit and Pumpkin patch!

Dave's parents were able to come out over Columbus day weekend. It was great watching LDS General Conference with them and spending time them. We went to a Pumpkin Patch while they were here. It's also an apple picking farm---but we didn't pick apples, just purchased them and made delicious apple crisp :)

Anyway, it was a great weekend---here's some pictures!

Marcus, myself and mom Geiger.

Marcus loved the pumpkins. We brought a couple small ones home and he rolls them all over the floor.

Our little family on a hay ride.

 Marcus really liked the hayride!!

Marcus with grandma Geiger. He loves to tear leaves off trees and bushes.

Marcus and I looking at the roosters.

Marcus pet the little goat :)

Marcus and grandpa Geiger outside our house.

 Marcus LOVES to swing!

He likes to go down the slide too :)

Wingaersheek Beach

Since the weather was still pretty warm in September, I decided that Dave needed to see a beautiful beach that I got to go to last summer. It has beautiful shallow water and the sand is sparkly. Marcus enjoyed it for the most part. He tried to eat the sand, of course. We had some seagulls attack our stuff while we were a ways away. Fun times :)

This last picture is the seagulls attacking our stuff. They even opened our unopened bag of chips!! Trash birds...

Moving and Utah .... catching up!

We moved back to Cambridge on 10 August. It was such a long drive with New Jersey and New York traffic. And Connecticut too. We stopped about 4 times for Marcus. He definitely has his fussy moments, but overall handled the move well.

Marcus enjoying the Uhaul :)  Don't worry, he was in the car with me.

Right after returning to Cambridge Dave started his on campus interviews for his job for next summer. He had about 20 interviews and several flybacks. So after the week of interviewing on campus he spent the next two weeks going back and forth between DC and Chicago interviewing at the firms.

We have decided where we will be going now---Sidley Austin, in Chicago. We're really excited to live in Chicago next summer!

While Dave was interview I flew out to Utah with Marcus to visit family. Dave was able to come out too for 5 days---I stayed for two weeks. It was so wonderful to see family and friends!!

Marcus' first visit to the SLC LDS Temple. Had to capture the moment :)

Marcus sitting in his great grandpa Braithwaite's lap.

Marcus with his cousins Kira and Kendra at the Zoo. Thanks Kir!

Marcus playing with his cousin Aleah. They're only a couple months apart :)

Marcus playing with his cousin Calvin. Cute little men :)

Dave and Marcus with our previous Bishop, his wife and our friend Stirling. Great to see old friends!!

Marcus and I hanging out with my besty girly friends :)

After we came home from Utah Dave started school right away and life was back to normal---except for that right before we left for Utah Marcus learned how to crawl!! So now life has changed forever! I've been baby-proofing the best I can. We sold our old TV stand and bought one with cupboards that close. I've tried to move everything out of his reach that he can't touch. I've given up on stopping him from playing with our shoes---but I did teach him not to put them in his mouth----it's really cute when he does though because I just call his name and he drops the shoe and runs away. He usually runs toward the stairs and proceeds to climb them. Yes, he started to climb the stairs at 7 1/2 months---wasn't expecting that. Although I'm happy for him reaching all these milestones, I miss him just sitting there not getting into anything :)

 He stands against everything now!

Marcus just being super cute :)
