Happy 1st Birthday Lane

Even Dante and Zoe thought she should share her pre-birthday puffs...Lane is all-too glad to let them lick her hand. It is pretty cute, she makes sure that each one has a turn.

12 months of Lane, I put her 12 month picture in yesterday. It is kind of bittersweet that the frame is full now. I can't believe how the time has flown by...to think a year ago I was lying in the hospital and Brandon's family was speeding up I35 to make it to Fort Worth before Lane came in to the world. At 12 months she still only has two teeth, is just on the verge of walking, says "mama" and "dada", loves giving kisses and hugs, can wave "bye-bye" on command, her favorite things to eat are banana and puffs, and already has the funniest personality.

I try not to brag too much...but my baby girl is sooooo cute...this is what she wore out to dinner tonight and everyone (about 6 tables of people and three servers) stopped and smiled and said "awww."

And these are her new sparkly Converse shoes...her Daddy chose them for her.

HAPPY 11 MONTHS LANE (yesterday)!

I can't believe she will be 1 year old in less than one month!!! She is so much more fun than I ever imagined and my heart is now full of feelings that I never dreamed of experiencing. When she sees me and smiles because we belong to each other my heart swells with pride. I love her so much...even when she is fussy, spits up on me, pulls my hair, or when her diapers smell so bad it should be illegal! I pray in my heart every day that I can be the mommy that she deserves and needs me to be...

AND where are my RSVPs for Lane's Safari Party?!? I know you have already received the super cute HAND STAMPED invite in the mail. Yes, I went a little crazy with the stamping...but the stamps were so perfect. Anyway email me and let me know if you will be able to help us celebrate Lane's birthday SAFARI STYLE!

Politics Schmolitics

There has been a lot said about the elect President Obama, both for and against. I knew this election, like no other (at least in my lifetime) would be very emotional on both sides. Obviously, there is a myriad of things that need to occur in our country, for the economy, foreign policy, etc. I usually don't comment on politics, because typically people become too emotional about their views and then all reason goes out the window. However, I will stray from the usual and make this very simple statement...President Obama was elected by the majority of the country and therefore will be inaugurated in January, as such I have already began to pray for him as the leader of my country.

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of truth." 1 Timothy 2:2-3

Whom ever you voted for...the decision has been made and now (especially if you are a believer) is the time to pray that those in power select wise advisers and make wise decisions for our nation.

Lane L-O-V-E-S Zoe. I think Zoe just tolerates her, but she does a good job of being careful around Lane and pretty much lets her do what ever she wants.

AND Congratulations to Ashley and Chris...

Chris proposed to Ashley (my sister-in-law and Lane's favorite nanny) last night. He had super plans to surprise her at our house, but then came down with a fever. Anyway, he proposed to her last night by giving her a pumpkin full of candy and a diamond ring! I will post pictures of the ring and the happy couple later on this weekend. They are planning on getting married November 8, 2009...so save the date!

I have been needing to post some of these pictures for a while. The first three are pictures of a nap mat that I made...I am considering putting this on my etsy site.

These are Lane's new pajamas. When I saw them I had to buy them for her since...1) there are monkeys all over them, 2) the tag at the top says "I'm not tired" (ref. video posted on 9/24/08), and 3)they had them in her size.

Blake was over on Thursday and she climbed into my laundry basket to eat her cheerios.
