Pumpkin Patch

Sammie Lou was in heaven at the pony rides this year. Wes had no smile, but loved it - he cried when he had to get off. Wes also loved the scary skeletons all around, he figured out you had to move to get them to turn on and talk, so he would crouch down really low and then do a "big" jump up and clap his hands (mostly missing them hitting together). It was so funny, people started watching him instead of the creepy goblins. On a sad note, Sammie got attacked by the pig. Brad heard her screaming and saw her arm through the fence and the pig had a firm grip on her elbow. Luckily she had a sweat shirt on- so no bleeding, but the skin did break and it was bruised for a few days! Had to get a shot of all the kids - love this one with the "scary hand" reaching out to tickle whoever isn't smiling. Caught on film!

Almost Stiches!

e

Wes our 4th child, being so independent, adventurous, clumsy and unsupervised often has accidents. This one scared me - I heard/saw the fall and the wail, that came after, as I was running to him. I scooped him and he burried his head in my shoulder. When he finally came up for air, there was blood pouring out of his nose all over him and my shirt. I rushed him to the neighbors to see if they thought he needed stitches. (The dreaded ER with 4 children in tow - was not my idea of a night. So we waited until Brad came home, he poked and prodded and made the final decision - No stitches - YAY! It looks much better now - but poor guy! If you look close you can see the shape of the scalloped metal candle holder he fell on. Just ignore the pink Barbie toothbrush he is using. It's Sl2's and he LOVES any electric toothbrush - he's not worried about stereotypes:)
