Merry Christmas

GO GATORS!!..... We mean Merry Christmas from Gainesville, Florida; home of the Gators. In this neck of the woods we hear a lot of “Go Gators”….so much that we find ourselves randomly saying “Go Gators”…sometimes mid sentence. We’ll just say there is a lot of school spirit and football pride. We are trying to feel the spirit of Christmas amongst the Gator crowd, you know they have gone too far when baby Jesus is wrapped in swaddling clothes of orange and blue (Gator colors).

Dusty did have the opportunity to partake of the Gator spirit and attend a football game in the huge Florida’s Gators football stadium. “Go Gators” All the Gator talk has Isaac age 7 hoping that someday he will amount to becoming the Gator Mascot… when he heard people were actually paid to dress up as an alligator and act crazy, he was all over it. Someday Isaac, someday… “Go Gators”. Isaac is enjoying piano lessons and recently played a primary song at church. He also just finished up a fun soccer season with lots of friends and is doing well in school.

Emma on the other hand is planning on becoming a REAL PRINCESS and living at Disney World …she often wonders what her princess story will be and what her princess dress will look like. She is constantly dressing up, changing clothes and always singing. We had the opportunity to go to Disney World for her 5th birthday. She was so excited to meet the new Disney Princess Tiana (from The Frog Princess) and also very excited to meet ANY prince. We lucked out Princess Tiana was with her handsome Prince Navine AND he KISSED Emma on the cheek… first kiss from a Prince…not bad Emma! But shhhhh don’t say anything to her …super embarrassed. “Go Gators”. Emma has also been loving preschool and has many friends and play dates.

Our little Sophie is 2 ½ now and loving life, she too likes to dress up and is constantly in a ballerina leotard, we have three she rotates through. She insists on wearing one anywhere and everywhere, even to bed sometimes. I don’t even need to bother buying her clothes. “Go Gators” Sophie also enjoys play dates with her little friend Londyn and talks about her all day long, she even prays for her everyday. So cute, but you know what is not so cute, her self formed mullet…her comfort is twisting the top of her hair pulling it out and eating it…is that normal? “Go Gators”

As for Dusty he has been quite busy since moving here in June to finish up his residency in anesthesiology. He enjoys biking to and from work 7 miles each way “Go Gators” …I mean “Go Dusty” not many people can say they bike 14 miles a day –he says he would rather get a workout in then be stuck in traffic for the same amount of time. He also recently participated in 100 bike tour with our neighbor and some med-school friends. He is really enjoying the anesthesia and learning a lot, the transition from Phoenix to Gainesville was relatively easy because a handful of friends from Medical school are in programs here as well. It has been fun to go to the beach with them and have many get-togethers. “Go Gators” We have also made other good friends in our neighborhood and church ward.

I am currently staying busy with being the homeroom mother (PTA) for Isaac’s 1st grade class and taking kids to piano lessons, soccer games, dance class, the library, attending book club and constantly buying crickets at the pet store for Isaac’s fire belly toad and pet lizard, he is obsessed with catching things, reptiles, amphibians…you name it, he’ll catch it. Some people around here even go as far as calling him, “The lizard whisper”. At one point he had 10 lizards in his aquarium, but that meant going to buy crickets way too much so we settled on keeping one at a time. “Go Gators” Our Wednesday nights get pretty busy I help out at church with the activity day girls (ages 8-11) and Dusty is involved with the cub scouts (boys 8-11) our kids think it super fun to tag along because they are not actually old enough to go otherwise. “Go Gators”

Above all the Gator talk we hope we can all feel the spirit of Christmas and remember our Savior Jesus Christ at this special time of year. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Love, The Andersons -Dusty, Jandee, Isaac, Emma and Sophia
