"Family" Vacation

Jeremy had another course to take up in D.C. (Sarah did SEE the building and can vouch to all the other wives that it really does exist! LOL!) Seeing as this was the only opportunity for a summer "family" vacation, Sarah drove the kids up and down from Georgia (11 hours EACH way...thank you, thank you,...) to be with "dad" in the evenings and weekends. Sarah and the kids did all the sightseeing during the day. We saw: the monuments (including tickets to go up the Washington Monument), National Museum of History, National Archives, National Gallery of Art, White House Visitor's Center, Air and Space Museum, Zoo, LDS Temple, and the Jim Henson Exhibit. We also walked around Annapolis. Jeremy and Sarah love this place. Found out that Allison, Madison, and Parker do not. In Baltimore, went to the Children's Museum and the Science Center. Saw Sarah's old roots in Woodbridge, VA. Looked at houses in Quantico, VA (which will soon house the new NCIS headquarters.) Saw Sarah's aunt in Fairfax, VA. Ate out everyday and swam in the pool. Rode the Metro. Did I forget anything?! Oh, yes,...it was hot!

Dancing Divas...

Madison performed a Ballet number to "Little Ballerina's." She also performed a Tap Dance to "Lollipop." They were both way too cute!

Dancing Divas...and Dad!

This is Allison in her Musical Theatre "Nicest Kids in Town" outfit. She also performed a Ballet number to "Music in Me." Then, she and her dad performed a Daddy-Daughter Hip Hop Dance to "It's Tricky". Oh, how we wish all could have been there...but the $40 DVD should be well worth the money!!! Also, congrats to Allison for being awarded a $500 scholarship that night to help pay for her dance classes. A big thanks to the Pat Morrell Scholarship!

June "Joy"...

We had two joyous occassions in June. One was Jeremy's birthday. The girls wanted all 37 candles on the cake...hence, all the "smoke"! The other was the dance recital that the girls were in.

The rest of the month went DOWNHILL. Parker and Allison decided to jump on mom and dad's bed, ending with Jeremy rushing Parker to the pediatrician and then to the ER to staple a very, very large gash in his head AND Sarah rushing Allison to the ped. dentist (on his day off) to try to fix a broken off top, front permament front tooth. We will be seeing $$$ for the rest of her life. If it had only ended there...

Sarah had a terrible, terrible case of the flu. Which she passed on to the babysitter from the night before and on to the rest of the babysitters family. She also passed it on to Jeremy. And, if it had only ended there, too...

The babysitter had been watching the kids so that Sarah could go up with Jeremy to catch a sale at Jos. A Banks. The suit needed in Jeremy's size arrived a few days later. The whole family went over to the store, on St. Simon's Island, so Jeremy could have it fitted and to eat some ice cream. After leaving in the store, they all got back into the car and found that it would not start, nor even turn over. It was completely dead. While waiting for a tow truck, some gracious friends of theirs from the neighborhood behind the store, came to give the van a jump, which it would not hold. They lent Sarah their Jeep Cherokee so that more hours would not be spent also securing a rental vehicle that night. The plan was to drive it home and return it to them in the morning. While on the way home, Sarah was sitting at a light, and was completely rear-ended in their vehicle by a person that was not driving their vehicle either, nor had a license.

There's always something going on at our house!
