Hello Friends and WELCOME to another Simon Says Stamp BLOG HOP. If you want to start at the beginning of the hop you can start at Simons blog here or you might be arriving from my special friend, Jennifer McGuire, you are in the right place. I have to admit it's a little hard following Jennifer... she always leaves me in awe thinking how does she come up with such great ideas. (Be sure to check out her free downloads and why ..such a great cause)
Thanks for hopping along with us and I hope you get as excited as I did when I saw the new releases. Honestly my head is swimming with ideas ... if only there was more time. Oh the possibilities .. cute, elegant, artistic and fun... I think Simon has every category covered. You can see the full release here. Today I'm sharing three cards but, before we begin you probably already know ......
Simon will be giving away a grab bag filled with stamps, paper, and embellishments to one randomly selected commenter on every blog in the hop!(wow! 18 chances to win!)
The giveaway will remain open until the following Thursday June 6/6 at 9:00pm. The winners will be announced on the Simon blog on Friday June 7.
Shall we get started?
CARD NUMBER ONE : I can't wait for you to see some different ways to use the dies.
I have a sneaky feeling that this little critter called ,"Stinkin Cute" is going to be popular! So adorable right? I thought some fun die cut foliage would be the perfect enhancement for the little stinker.
I used some Ultra Fine flower soft on the stripe on the tail. Just apply Glossy Accents & sprinkle generously with flower soft. (I stamp the stripe an extra time and paper piecing it so the ear would sit on top of the flower soft) Ahhh.... add black Enamel Accents to the eyes.
Now I'm just tickled to share this. I wanted to use these really super cool clouds as SHRUBS! We all know how to use them as clouds so I thought a new way to use them would be nice too. Color with Copics and dry emboss for more texture.
This "Leaf Column" is begging to be a background but, today his debut is a a pretty accent on my card. I used some white Enamel Accents on the "stamen". The "Leaf Column" has a background die that will give it a cool look.
I cut up the "All Seasons Tree" for some more shrubs. It's pretty necessary to use this glue pen to glue the background leaves onto the tree.

CARD NUMBER TWO: There are so many ways to use these hexagons & butterflies! Keep part of the butterfly wing inside the butterfly for a more artistic look.
It's so hard for me to create a simple card but, I was able to fuss on the butterfly. Seriously I love these hexagons. Keep reading for the "how to" use some negative space.
Die cut the shapes on your card base in a random but, planned pattern. Emboss the die cut hexagons & set aside. Back your card base with some paper and fill in the negative space with the embossed hexagons by gluing down with some Glossy Accents.
Use a dauber to lightly distress the "Paulina" butterfly. Always start with your lighter color first. Stamp the sentiment with Picked Raspberry Just draw a "Y" on some scrap paper, cut and coat with glossy accents and set aside to dry.
NOTE: What butterfly is perfect? I decided to keep part of the wing intack! If you carefully remove your butterfly from the cutting plate.... you can tape the part of the wing you want to keep. Use the dauber to color the "Devonshire" butterfly. Glue the "Y" for the body onto the butterfly and add some white dots to the wing.
When adding white dots..... keep in mind.. go slow and the pen will flo better.

CARD NUMBER THREE: This pile of pillows was created for my daughter who is the real "Princess and the Pea"! When I saw these pillows I knew immediately what I wanted to do.
You might notice the bottom of the card? It's a shag rug created with some Flower Soft. I used the "Sunshine" die cut to highlight the pea. I cut this talk bubble for the sentiment.
Thank you for hopping along today. I hope you might look at you die cuts a little differently from now on. The next stop in the hop is Debby Hughes and I can tell you that you will leave her blog inspired!! Thank you again for your visit and a big thanks to Simon for so many chances to win! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Kathy
