trendy hair with blue streaks

I was thinking ....
Hello sweet friends, anything new?? Our friends daughter won in an incredible award at UVA yesterday so I thought this image called "...Journal" from Penny Black was perfect for her.. I had so much fun coloring her with Copic markers & I used the markers to create the chevron pattern on her notebook. I have been seeing so much blue hair in the media I thought it would be fun to give my image some streaks of blue. The beautiful patterns and colors on the Basic Grey papers called "Hello Luscious" were young, fresh & perfect!
I was thinking ....
Through the years I have always enjoyed some good conversation bubbles to use on my cards and these are great because these come with messages that FIT inside. Love how they look hand drawn too. I also darkened up the lines on the top of her eyes so she looks like she has lots of eye liner on like some teenagers like to do?

For the inside I had to use my "go to" sentiments from SRM stickers. Nothing better thank looking on one sheet of stickers for that perfect sentiment. Speaking of my "go to" .... this die is my "go to" when it comes to easy and quick with a simple shape. I listed a few of the copics I used below in the supply section. Just in case you are wondering what my paper preference may be for coloring?? it's this. I hope you are enjoying your weekend and I so appreciate your visit. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. I think it would be fun to create a dusk scene with this image creating a full moon like I did in this post.
P.S.S. Did you leave a comment in this post to win a Simon Says Card Kit?

Simon Says May card kit giveaway

Hello Friends, How are you today?? I know some of you might be wondering how the packing is going & I appreciate you asking. As of now I am taking a break and helping my TWIN sister pack her breakables .....she's moving next month!

Now... let's talk card kits...Simon Says Card Kits. TODAY I am lucky to be able to give away one of Simon Says May's card kit all you need to do is say hello in the comment area. I will draw a random winner next Friday.
I am in love with every paper in May's card kit.  I also love these die cut transparences that I used on both cards. (you can purchase them separately here). I do recommend using Scrap Dots to give the transparences dimension. I would rather call the transparencies vellum because they are so smooth and silky and a nice quality. The oval frame of this card is one Spellbinders newest dies called, "Floral Ovals " NOTICE the tiny perforated holes around the oval...so elegant and so easy. To finish off my card I added some Gathered Twigs distress ink to the edges.

This is a good photo of the "transparencies" from Basic Grey that are in the card kit. Almost a life time supply...lol :) On this card I used three of them and this yummy felt cloud button and all. I used more Scrap Dots to adhere the arrow next to the cloud and you can see the clear bit under the arrow.

I was pretty proud of myself when I thought to add the dotted paper to the folded corner on the back side. Ahhh I have to mention the lovely sentiment created from the talented Kristina Werner. Love the stamp set that's in this card kit and it will be available for purchase soon.... stay tuned :)

The yummy trend tape was fun to use. I trimmed the edges, placed the tape on some light blue paper and trimmed it again leaving an small blue boarder. I was into folding corners on all these cards as you see here too. This is a good close up of the lovely dots in the oval that is from Spellbinders. If you have any questions please send me an email. You can order May's card kit here. If you want to suscribe you can order here. May you have sunny skies the rest of the week. Hugs, Kathy

clowning around

For You
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice and relaxing weekend...perhaps a crafty weekend? I  feel bad that earth day just slipped threw our house with out a nod this year. We do our best but, there is always room for improvement.
For You
I had so much fun coloring these adorable clowns called "Three Clowns" from Penny Black for the 2012 catalog. On the center clown I used the "Copic Feathering" method in an artistic way without bending the two colors.  I have also done that same thing here, here and here. The ballons and stamped sentiments are from this transparent set that I am constantly reaching for. I wish I had a close up on the buttons and noses. The buttons I used Enamel Accents and a big blog of Glossy Accents on the their noses. I hope they gave you a smile today. Have a good week! Hugs, Kathy
