The most current contest was my SRM tubes and you all agreed that drawing two winners would be best! I was so excited that so many of you wanted these tubes. So with the help of Random.org

Congrasts to #23 Eleni and # 165 Jamie!

Then there was the Penny Black "A Thorney Affair" and the original post here. I assigned numbers to my three blog posts and the Penny Black Blog posts. The number pulled happened to be the first blog post at the PB blog. Then I used the Random number generator from the comments there.
Congrats  #31 Merry!

Christmas tags and packaging all rolled into one!

Hello Friends, I am so excited so share these party crackers with you. I have been wanting to make these for years! The great thing about these is the supply list.... toilet paper rolls and copy paper!

Christmas crackers/gift

Today you will see these featured at the Penny Black blog along with the talented Elizabeth.  Be sure to check out Monday and Tuesday's post if you haven't already. They will be showcasing packaging and tags all week. Maybe you will hop over there to leave a comment instead at the
PB blog instead of here? Hope you don't mind if I say this ? I would be happy to hear feedback on this matter.

In order to differentiate the boys from the girls I colored the bows blue and red for each gender.

We always give money to my nieces and nephews and every year I usually end up taping the money to the bottom of a cereal box then wrapping the box. This year they have to work a little bit by unrolling the money but, I think it will be fun. Sort of like money confetti.

Search your kids room for unwanted and forgotten little bits of stuff. That's where I found the rubber bands, paper clips and some other small toy. I purchased the banana erasers & the fun bubble gum.

I added some small perfume samples for the girls. You really can get carried away thinking of things. Nail polish, make up, jewelery...girls are so easy. Ok let's great started.

I try to avoid measuring at all costs so rolling a sheet of copy paper make this pretty simple. Secure it with tape. Why copy paper...it's thin and easy to scrunch at the ends.

After rolling scrunch, gather or pinch the ends. They will stay this way until you are ready for ribbon or string. The rubber bands are the ones for the girls.

I love this paper from Penny Black and I was thrilled with the richness the distress ink gave the paper.  (check the paper out here) After distressing  I added a little stippling with the distressing tool. This gave the paper a little bit of variance with the color.

Christmas crackers/gift

I was happy to find some gold embossing powder in my craft room and some gold embroidery thread that I used to tie the ends off. Stamp the holly tags with embossing ink and emboss in gold. I tried a few different ways to color the leaves. I liked the result of the copics best for this application mostly because I wanted to leave a white boarder around the holly.
If you would like to read the traditions of the Christmas cracker that originated from England you can read more about here. Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of your encouraging comments. You all rock. If you are in the states have an awesome Thanksgiving. I am grateful for ALL OF YOU!
Hugs, Kathy

Sentiments in a tube/ Giveaway again :)

Hello Friends, Today I am sharing some fun tubes that are from SRM stickers. I had a fun time thinking of all the things I could do with these and I really enjoyed putting them together. So much so that I decided to  GIVE THESE tubes away!   Leave me a comment and tell me if I should have two winners with three tubes each or one winner with all six There are six sentiments in each tube and 36 total. I did get a little workout with all of this distressing.

I almost used the tubes as a centerpiece but, needed more for impact. These wonderful tubes are very versatile and SRM will be featuring THE TUBES ALL WEEK. Check them out here.

I love buttons but, rarely find a spot on a card to use them. I created this so you can pull together a card in a snap with coordinating sentiments with buttons.

I cut 36 paper strips out of white card stock. (51/2 x 3/4 ) Each paper strip was distressed and stamped with three different Penny Black background stamps.

I gathered my yummy SRM sticker stash and selected a variety of sentiments. The easy part was sticking the sentiment to the strip because these stickers just melt into your paper. There was only one sentiment that I put on partially crooked and if you lift the sticker off slowly you can re-position it.

There are to many SRM stickers to list so please check out .... SRM store here.

If you would like to win these tubes put your name on the list below. If you don't have a blog put your email address in the URL. Supplies:

A few more wintery cards

Hello, today I'm back to share two very quick cards. We had a change in plans and Thanksgiving will be at my house so...I have to get very organized. Penny Black is going to have an exciting week with fantastic projects so I hope you will visit PB blog daily so you don't miss a thing.

Another one of Penny Black's stickers. Can you believe that this snowman is a sticker? I stuck the snowman to white cards stock then cut him out for some dimension.Check out the sticker sheet here.  I used my favorite embossing folder again and stamped the snow flakes inside. It's amazing what a white dot will do.

Sorry for the bad photo here. I love this wood block stamp. After embossing the bottom of the background I added white pen to the embossed dots. I also cut out the opening in the mail slot.
I'm off and I would love to hear about your Thanksgiving plans. See you tomorrow ... Hugs, Kathy
