SRM Stickers

CIMG2113

Hello! Just another quick post because the deadline is tonight for the first challenge at the  SRM Stickers Blog. Jenyfur is the new communications director and that’s pretty cool!!  If you don’t know Jenyfur I’m sure you know CAARDvarks. Jenyfur is Caardvarks, she opened up her challenge blog about three years ago... way before lots of the card challenge sites you see now. It’s fun to see Jenyfur’s new adventure in card making and I hope you will stop by and check it out! I bet you can't tell that the "enjoy" sentiment on my card is a sticker! Have a great night! Hugs, Kathy

P.S.I stamped the Circle Lace in Ruby Chalk ink then put down the sticker. After coloring the butterfly with Copic markers I applied Glossy Accents.

Yes you are at The Daily Marker

and thanks for stopping by again. I was so inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s  butterflies I just had to do some of my own. I have been working on these critters for a few weeks on and off because I was really feeling like I needed a makeover for my blog.

Lucy is hosting a challenge at her blog and all you have to do is have some glitter on a card here are the details.
So kind
I used an embossing folder and then went over the embossed lettering with a glue pen and sprinkled with glitter on a few letters at one time. The flowers are Hero Arts and I colored them so long ago I'm not even sure what set they are from. I added Glossy Accents to them and the button is vintage from an antique store. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,Kathy
P.S. My goal is to get to everyone's blogs this weekend and leave some comments. Thank you for taking the time to leave your heartwarming comments here.

Hugs and Love

I made this for the Hero Arts Friendship Challenge and the CAARDvarks Heart Challenge and tonight is the deadline. I can’t wait to see what challenges are on the drawing board. I am wondering what you think about her legs. Should I have had them coming off the heart?? I'm puzzled about this but, at the same time couldn't add them..lol  Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

A BIG Change in a Friends Careers

My friends husband is going though a big transition with his career and I wanted to make him a special and meaningful card. This colorful DigiKit  by Jen Martakis called “February" was just what I was looking for!! I just happened to have the perfect sentiment for  the words in this kit too....how lucky. I used a different one of Jen’s kits for the bird. Once I printed the bird I stamped it with a woodgrain background stamp in Weathered Wood and distressed the bird in different colors listed below. The clouds are stamped in Hero Arts new chalk ink called Cerulean which is a beautiful blue. HERE is another card with the same digi bird in case you want to check out how versatile this little guy is.
See you tomorrow with another card. Hugs, Kathy

I used the "True Random Generator" to pick the number for the winner of my blog candy. I must have done something wrong cause the entire color photo if it don't copy but, here it is....drumb roll

The winner is CHRISTIANA!!!!!!

Here is what she said, "Wow, what a great giveaway! I am brand-spankin new to paper crafting and have next to no supplies, so how fun would that be?!?! I'm practically rubbing my hands together at the thought!

Anyway, I have a brand-new blog (started late last night) devoted to crafting and no followers as of yet, so I don't know how much posting a link to your site would help you, but I'll try to do so later this week." I'll send you an email Christina.

Aww...love the vintage papers, the bird cage and bird and there is so much more. I can’t wait to make another card but, had to post this first. The only stamped image is the lady and I have her holding the Digi bird instead of the bird on the stamp. The birds in the DigiKit are so beautiful I really can’t wait to enlarge them! I decied to use Mojo Monday's sketch (MOJO122)  to get me started on this card. The stamp is from Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps.  I’ll be back tomorrow with more. Thanks for all of you sweet comments they keep me smiling!

Squigglefly's Challenge #31

 CIMG1963

 CIMG1967
 CIMG1969
CIMG1968

This project is for Squigglefly’s first challenge this year and my first project with them as a design team member. The challenge is to create anything except for a card. You can start uploading your anything but a card onto Squigglefly’s Blog. I wanted a new look for my 2010 calendar along with a daily reminder to keep my New Years goals in check. Inside my calendar you will find two pockets with a tags to record my daily exercise and daily inspiration with tips that I need to be reminded of every day. To design your calendar, eating journal, notebook cover or whatever you desire keep in mind to trace the front “cover” before you start layering your papers. If you don’t have a calendar I recommend a composition book. I love how the corners are rounded, it’s bound (not spiral) and it is a  pretty compact notebook measuring in at 9.5x11 therefore, you should find it easy to cover. Once you select your desired paper and trace the item you will be changing it’s time to gather what you will be sewing or gluing to decorate your new cover, gather your images etc. Once you have all your together it’s time to have some fun and design your layout. I decided not to glue my cover onto my calendar instead it just rests inside my cover and for now that is working. I just love this Hippo by Jane Beljo  called “Big Boned”  and the slice of cake was just what I was looking for called “Piece of Cake” is by Angie Davis. Both images are available Here. The idea of the images is that the hippo will only get larger if he can’t resist the temptation of the yummy cake. I love the papers in this project  and believe it or not they are  from a DigiKit  available Two Peas in a Bucket by Betsy Tuma called “Flower Frenzy The Papers”. Have fun creating and thanks so much for stopping by. Hugs,Kathy
