Stitched Spiral Scallop

Hi friends! Kelly here to share my final layout as a Cut Shoppe Design Team member! I started my term with a Disney themed layout and I'm leaving today with another Disney themed layout!

I started in Cricut Design Space by uploading the Spiral Scallop Cut File. I converted the image to "write" so I could use the image as a guide for my hand stitching. I also wanted the scallop edge to touch each circle to create more room for my title. So I duplicated the cut file image and then used the "contour" feature to delete the scallops. I repeated the same process using the "contour" feature for the second image but I instead removed all of the circles. This left one image that had only scallops and one image that had only circles. I then resized the circles to fit directly up against the scallops.Once I had everything sized properly I "attached" the image and sent it to the Cricut.

I used multiple colors of pink embroidery floss and hand stitched each scalloped circle on a piece of light pink pattern paper from the Maggie Holmes Bloom Collection. I then positioned my circular photo in the center of the cut file image and added multiple Pink Paislee Take Me Away and Oh My Heart embellishments designed by Paige Evans.

I've had so much fun being part of The Cut Shoppe Design Team and am so grateful to Ashley for the opportunity! It has been a true pleasure!

I'll leave you now with a process video that has a Cricut Design Space tutorial showing you exactly how I used the Spiral Scallop Cut File for this layout! Remember to head to The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store to check out all of the cut file designs!

You Are My Sunshine

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a layout using the new Cloud Nine cut file, which makes an awesome background!

This layout was super easy to create! I cut the Cloud Nine from white cardstock, and backed it with papers from the Take Me Away 6"x6" pad. Keeping with the cloud theme, I added a title that had the word "sunshine" in it! I figured that the sun and clouds go together! I added a few more embellishments and some pink splatters, then the layout was complete!

Thanks for joining me today, I can't wait to see how you use this cut file!

Rescued & Loved

Hello Cut Shoppe friends! Today I am sharing a sweet layout about Luna, a stray dog that we adopted last year.

For this project I used the Give a Dog a Bone and Bountiful Blessings cut files from The Cut Shoppe along with Paige Evans' Take Me Away collection from Pink Paislee.

My first step with this project was to create a background with the Give a Dog a Bone cut file. To do this, I duplicated the circles to create a row. With the row completed, I filled the page with the object and then welded all of the rows together to form one large file.

The background was cut using white card stock butI wanted to give it more color. I adhered the white card stock to a piece of patterned paper that looks like it was painted. Next, I used watercolors and painted the card stock to match the patterned paper.

Once the paint had dried, I began adding embellishments to the project. First, I backed my photo with patterned paper and adhered it to the page with foam squares. I used the Bountiful Blessings cut file to create a small cluster of hearts that I cut apart and placed in various places behind the photo. Next, I began layering die cuts and chipboard stickers on and around the picture along with a few more of the Bountiful Blessings hearts.

The title was next and it was also cut from the Give a Dog a Bone file. I used yellow paper from Take Me Away and backed it with white card stock. The was placed below the photo and embellishments with foam squares. The final touch was a pink suede bow just below the title.

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to visit The Cut Shoppe for these many other fantastic cut files!

Sweet

Hello scrappy friends! It's Zinia here with a layout I create using some of the recently released cut files from the Cut Shoppe Etsy Store.

The cut file I'm talking about is called Flower Delivery. It's definitely my new most favorite design and I have a feeling I'll keep using it in a bunch of layouts.

I'm always obsessed with floral designs but this cut file has something special about it. I love how you can layer the different designs on top of each other to create unique effects.

For this layout, I decided to work with my December Hip Kits and use a colorful pattern paper from the Paige Evan's "Take me Away" collection. I cut out a bunch of flowers from that paper and then I cut some of the solid images out of vellum.

I used my watercolors to paint the vellum pieces and once they were dry, I stapled them with the designs I cut out of the pattern paper.

I covered the top of my page with another pattern paper and then using the same colors, I let some of my watercolors drip down on the white part of the page. Once it was dry, I scattered my layered flowers on the border between the two papers to create a dimensional bouquet.

I stuck my photo on the upper part of the page and embellished it a little with a few gold accents and a couple of phrase die cuts.

So that was it! I really hope you enjoyed this and got inspired to create a beautiful paper bouquet on your layouts too. Until next time, happy scrapping.

Restore

Hi its Melissa here, Happy New Year!!  I always love to start my year off with a word that will set the scene for the year.  I write my goals around that word, and I choose a bible scripture that supports my word.  This year my word is "Restore", and its appropriate for me after 9 months of being sick with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (extreme morning sickness) throughout my entire pregnancy.  Now that baby Ava is 7 weeks old I'm looking forward to getting my health and life back on track, and being fit and healthy.

I used two cut files for this layout, the new Flower Delivery cut file and the Brush Up Alpha, which is an older release.   My background paper is by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and all other products are from Take Me Away by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee.

I cut my title twice from white cardstock and layered it up for extra dimension.

I had so much fun cutting the flowers and leaves from different patterned papers and layering them with dimensional foam so they popped off the page.

Here are the two cut files, so many creative possibilities with both of them!

Thanks so much for looking!

Playground

Hello scrappy friends! It's Zinia here with another layout using one of the most recent cut files from the Cut Shoppe etsy store.

A couple of days ago Ashley released a bunch of new cut files among them was "The Half of It" background design.

I started by editing the cut file in Silhouette Studio. I used the offset tool to create a border and turn the holes of the cut file into a "lace". I increased the size of the gap till most of the lines were touching so the cut file would stay all in one piece.

Once it was cut, I decided to try something different. I usually back my cut files with pattern paper and then use a piece of cardstock as my base. In this case, I chose a pattern paper to be my background and backed my cut file using colorful pieces of cardstock.

I stuck the cut file on my base using some foam dots and then I painted the open areas with white ink.

To embellish the page, I chose some bits from my December Hip Kits. I fussy cut some flowers and also picked a few words from the exclusive cut apart sheet and ephemera pack.

I also used a couple of products from the Paige Evans "Take me Away" collection as layers behind my photo and also to embellish.

It was a rather time consuming layout considering the time spent to back the cut file with cardstock but it was fun. I really hope I helped you get inspired to create something with your cut files. Until next time, happy scrapping :)

Adventure Awaits

Hi there,

Zsoka here with you today to share my latest layout with you. This is one of the 4-5 hand stitched layouts I have been sitting on since July, waiting to be finished! I recently had to reorganize my craft space and finally sorted out some papers that were just lying around and found my stitched backgrounds. Finally I felt inspired to finish this one! It's such a good feeling!
I chose this paper from Paige Evans/Pink Paislee's Take me away collection. I loved the divided pattern and thought I could use the yellow part for a big title. I chose the Adventure Awaits set, which is one of the Exclusive ScrapbookNerd cut files, designed by The Cut Shoppe. I've used it before and I love it for a big bold title! I decided to go with a tone on tone look and stitched my title with yellow embroidery floss. I love how that looks!

The problem I often face with hand stitched layouts is how to embellish them. I find simple is the best in this case! I decided to keep all my embellishments on the striped part of the paper, together with my photo. I really didn't use much, I chose some wood veneers, clips, chipboard pieces, thickers and a journaling card and that was it! It ended up being a very quick layout (apart from the stitching!), but I needed to sit on it for months to be able to finish it! Sometimes you just need to come back to a layout with fresh eyes!

I hope I could inspire you today in one way or another! Thanks for stopping by and see you soon X

You Stole My Heart

Hello scrappy friends, it's Zinia here and today I want to share with you a wreath design I created using a super cute cut file from the Cut Shoppe etsy store.

So I grabbed a bunch of 6x6 paper sheets mainly from Paige Evans' "Take me Away" collection and I started cutting a some of the shapes from the Oodles of Doodles cut file.  I picked different shapes in different sizes for every paper I cut to have some variety of die cuts to work with.

Once I had all my pieces cut I arranged them on my page. To make my wreath more "rich" I decided to fussy cut some flowers that came in one of the 12x12 papers from the "Take me Away" collection. I started committing to the arrangement by sticking down the flowers first and then slowly adding the die cut pieces.

It was a bit hard to balance all the different shapes, sizes and patterns but I took my time and made sure to spread everything evenly.

To add some more interest around the wreath, I sprinkled with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Sweet Mint and Gold.

For my title I used the gold phrase thickers from the "Take me Away" collection paired with the small gold alphas from the Maggie Holmes "Gather" accent stickers sheet.

With all the business of the wreath, I didn't really need to do a lot of embellishing. I added a few gold phrase stickers and a few more little bits just help the design look more balanced.

I'm really excited about the way this turned out. I enjoyed the whole process of placing all the little die cut pieces and adding the final touches with the extra embellishments.

I really hope you enjoyed this as well and you got inspired to create something beautiful with your cut files from the Cut Shoppe etsy store. Until next time, happy scrapping :)
