As You Like It - Favourite Text

This week at As You Like It our challenge is to tell us what your favourite method of adding text to a card is! I can tell you that after countless stamping disasters I'm very fond of a shop bought sentiment! I can't tell you the number of times I've spent hours on a card only to stamp a sentiment in a haphazard and wonky manner!!!

I've used a super cute little craftwork cards sentiment on this card :-) You can find the sweet little gnome digi on etsy here

I hope that you get the opportunity to join in with this challenge.

It's Pink and Green or Orange and Blue at As You Like It

Over at the As You Like It Challenge blog our theme for the next couple of weeks is Pink and Green or Orange and Blue. As you may know (I may have mentioned it!) I have a strong aversion to orange so that was never going to happen. I therefore chose pink and green! It's also one of my favourite colour combinations as it's super versatile.

I've used one of the new LOTV snowmen digis and some Hunkydory dotty paper. The poinsettia is also from Hunkydory (Donna Mosley keeps using this die and it always looks amazing on her cards so it climbed to the top of my 'need' list).

I'm having a printer trauma - it won't take my copic card so I'm using crappy thin card that won't blend. I may be in a small strop!!!

If you'd like to play along go find us at As You Like It Challenge :-)

Favourite Flower at As You Like It

The challenge this fortnight at As You Like It is to use your favourite flower - and tell us why it's your favourite. I don't really have a favourite flower (mainly because I don't know what most of the are - I could spot a rose or a poppy and then I'm stumped!) So, my card contains pink flowers because I love all pink flowers!! When my husband sends me flowers he asks the florist to use pinks and purples and NO yellows or oranges. Sorry - I loathe yellow and orange!

So, pink flowers it is!

I love these polkadoodle flowers - love the squiggles and doodles too!

Something for Baby at As You Like It

Over at As You Like It we would like to see something you've made for a baby and tell us why you've made it!

I made this baby card for a Grandma to be who loved the LOTV image and wanted something 'very pink'! Sounded good to me!

The challenge is open for a couple of weeks so follow the link if you'd like to join us! As You Like It Challenge Blog  xxx

Summer or Winter colours at As You Like It

The challenge at As You Like It for the next fortnight is Summer or Winter colours (and why you chosen that option).

I decided to go for lots of bright summery colours mainly because I'm so sick of grey miserable weather! This card was the Kit and Clowder May '19 markers class and it comes highly recommended!

I have, at last, got an appointment at the hand clinic today and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they have options that don't involve surgery!

Favourite stamp brand over at As You Like It.

The challenge for the next couple of weeks over at As You Like It is to make a card using an image from your favourite stamp brand - and tell us why it's your favourite.

My favourite is Lili of the Valley and has been since I started crafting over ten years ago. I love the super cute images, they're a pleasure to colour and are always super popular.

I love this one from the new release :-)

Hope you get an opportunity to join us xx

His or Hers at As You Like It

Over at As You Like It this fortnight we are hosting a His or Hers challenge. Do you like making girls cards or do you favour making those tricky cards for boys?

Unsurprisingly I prefer making girls cards. There's just soooo much more you can add to a girl card. Ribbon, pearls, gems, spangles, feathers - oooh so much froth!!

I love this Tonic 'A Good Year' bottle die - especially in this beautiful satin red card. Topped off with this Stampingbella stamp (one of my faves).

I hope you can join us for this challenge xx

As You Like It - Favourite Non Card Project

I'm very late with my As You Like It Challenge project this week :-( The challenge is to make your favourite non card project. I'm very fond of tonic bags so I decided to use my new Kings Cross Case die. As a first attempt it's ok - but I can see some tweaks are needed!!

I've used one of the LOTV new release images too (stamps are due for release 15th May).

Hope you can join us xx

Sneak peek . . . .

I finally got to play with the soon to be released stamps from LOTV. The stamps are released on May 15th and contain all manner of cuteness - what else would you expect from Lili of The Valley :-)

I love these wedding bears - and they look lovely teamed up with this shaped card die from Studio Light.

Happy bears - what more could you ask for ;-)

Flowers or ribbon at As You Like It

Hmmm, it's practically impossible to choose between ribbon and flowers! The As You Like It challenge is to use either flowers or ribbon on your creation and explain your choice. I made two cards this week, one with flowers and one with ribbon, and chose this at the last minute! It's rare I make a card without flowers or ribbon -even better to combine the two ;-)

I've used ribbon on this one because I wanted to add this little tag I made. The stamps are from Polkadoodles and the die I've used for the background is from Crafter's Companion.

I'm easing myself back into some colouring - a super Copic 4 class with Faye Wynn Jones certainly helped. The nerve conduction test results are back at the docs but the receptionist said I had to make an appointment because the results were all in 'doctor speak' so she couldn't tell me anything. She was so lovely it just made me laugh!

Hope you get chance to join us with this challenge. xxxx

Favourite Colouring Medium at As You Like It.

The new challenge at As You Like It is your favourite colouring medium and why. I love my copics - they blend beautifully and there is a huge range of colours. I've done very little colouring over the past few weeks because my right hand has been super painful. Still, it's given me an opportunity to start using my LOTV Art pads and toppers :-)

Hope you can join us for this challenge x

One Layer or Many Layers at As You Like It

This week's challenge at As You Like It is one layer or many layers - and explain why! I love a full on card with masses of layers and crazy embellishments and I miss not having the time to indulge in that kind of crafting anymore. One day I shall return to it and it will fill me with joy!!!

In the meantime I'll make do with the three layers on this card. I'm in a Woodware phase - particularly this Peony Bloom stamp.

This stamp set is just super pretty however you use it and I'm loving it with the vellum wrap.

I hope you can join us over the next two weeks xxx

Slightly late . . .

Apologies for being late with my As You Like It post - This virus has me worn out and I keep falling asleep reading with my little one and then never make it downstairs for an evening!

This week's As You Like It Challenge is 'Birthday or Christmas'. As Christmas card making is generally a frantic mid-December experience I've gone for Birthday!!!!

I've made a quick card with one of the new LOTV stamps. They will be available at the Farnborough show (22nd/23rd Feb) and then online after that!

Colouring with carpal tunnel is becoming a nightmare but I'm booked in for an injection at the end of February. I'm reluctant to have surgery as it generally get better on its own - it just takes a while!

The trouble with diets . . .

So at the moment if I'm not eating cake, I'm thinking about it or colouring it!!! It's not good and the diet is a disaster. It's not even a diet - it's a sensible eating plan but as it turns out, it's not very sensible! I really must try harder. Maybe colouring cake was not a good idea - I can think of little else but food. Sigh.

So this is the latest colouring class at Kit and Clowder. I love the classes but carpal tunnel has returned and coupled with this ridiculous trigger finger colouring is becoming very tricky :-(

This class is really worth taking a look at - the instruction is fabulous.

Shape or fold at As You Like It!

This weeks theme at As You Like It is your favourite shape or fold. I love shaped cards but I really love a crazy fold! Any fold - the crazier the better. They're always great fun to do in a cardmaking class ;-)

I made a quick card because I still have the lurgy and it doesn't seem to be shifting. Lots of people are in the same boat though :-(

Gosh, even the picture is blurred! I hope to be better soon!!

Winnie Winterland

It's week 4 at Make a Christmas Card Every Week and so far so good! I didn't stick to the theme this week - I wasn't in a chimney and rooftop mood!! So I made this one using the Polkadoodles Winnie Winterland CD ROM :-)

I'd forgotten the CD contained digis and had a nice surprise when I found this super cute image to colour. The CD also has lots of bits and bobs and embellies to cut out - the problem is knowing when to stop adding things!!!! I do so love a well embellished card ;-)

I'm off to tackle yet another pile of ironing - I'm beginning to wonder whether my neighbours are leaving their washing to iron. Surely a family of four cannot possibly produce this amount of ironing????? xxx

Serenity

Oooh I really must stop buying digis!! It's becoming an addiction - yikes. This one from Polkadoodles is my new favourite :-) I think she's called serenity and I just love her little face.

I confess that I am not coping well with being poorly. It's making me grumpy and hungry - the diet is not going well. I thought having a cold was supposed to kill your appetite not turn you into a lunatic fridge raider????? xxx

Butterfly Winnie

I have been knee deep in ironing and cleaning today - yeuch! My new Polkadoodles stamp came yesterday so I made a super fast card with beautiful Butterfly Winnie.

I love a bit of pink ;-) xxx

So Lovely :-)

I have another card using the Lili of the Valley So Lovely stamp set. It's becoming my favourite set! And those papers - super yum. How I wish I'd bought more before they were discontinued. Sigh.

I have sooooo much ironing and it's everywhere!!!!! Really must get on that. Tomorrow ;-)   xxx

Buttons or Pearls at As You Like It

Over at As You Like It we have a cracking challenge for anyone whose button or pearl stash is voluminous! I have to confess that a long while ago I went mad and bought a gazillion buttons! So today, out of shame, I am using a button.

I've used one of the Lili Of The Valley stamps and papers I bought in the Christmas sale - so glad I bought them :-) I love an essential purchase.

I really ought to get on and use the buttons. The kids love nothing more than to empty the jar on the floor and mess with them but then they don't all go back in the jar and there's always that one button that ends up noisily whizzing round the inside of the vacuum. The joys of motherhood ;-)

So I will go now and make something with buttons  . . .   xxx

More LOTV Fairies

I've done more crafting this week than I have in months and I'm a happy camper :-) I have abother of the new LOTV fairies today. I also received happy post from LOTV - 3 new stamp sets and 2 new paper pads. Oooooooh - giddy pants much?

I love this new release  - they work beautifully with the LOTV papers.

Make a Christmas card every week for a year challenge.

I'm starting this challenge again. I failed miserably last year but am now filled with giddy determination. Or, it might just be the gin I drank??? Anyhoo, it's happening. I made a Christmas card.

I love this LOTV image - it's one of my favourites. I say that a lot, I know. And I love the Craftwork Cards papers. Combining all that yumminess can't be a bad thing can it?

I have a class to work on so I'd best get going. Sending giddy Christmas card making hugs xxx

Anything Goes at As You Like It!

Our new challenge at As You Like It is 'Anything Goes'! Nothing could be simpler :-) We are sponsored this time by Lili of The Valley who have a new range of fairy stamps and digis out. I have used one of the new fairies:

Lily Daisy is just too cute!

Hope you get the chance to join us.  Hugs xx
