Preschool Show off

This year Rylie attend preschool at our Gym and loved it. The thing that I liked about this preschool is that they get to do 2 hours of preschool and then an hour of an activity. So on Mondays she did gymnastics, on Wed she did swimming and on Friday they rotated between dance and tennis. It was great for her to be exposed to all these activities and she LOVED it.

Here she is floating on her back....

Here she is just being Ry.....

Here they had to "monkey crawl" the perimeter of the pool

Here they are doing their cheer that they do at the end of each class

Ry getting her graduation award. After this year in gymnastics we have decided she needs to be pushed in this area for now. She has used my family room as her gym floor and has perfected her cartwheel, has learned to do a handstand and wants to do soo much more. That will be what she starts up this summer.

Dance/Movement

Limbo...

This is a dance called the tooty tot...it is quite the funny dance and would have recorded it had I had a brain at all. She loved movement class, it is really dance but they found the boys were reluctant to go if they thought they were going to "dance" so they changed the name to movement.

You know your a great dad when. . .

You know you are good dad when you let your little four year old girl paint your fingers pink. She got new paint for Easter and wanted so badly to paint someones nails and Drew ended up being the culprit. Now, he could have easily said no, but that is where him being such a great dad comes in. He said yes without any hesitation at all. He even let Rylie pick out the color of paint and of course she had to go bright pink.

If you could have seen her face, she was concentrating soo hard on these nails...it was great.

And the finished product....look at that smile. You can't tell me he doesn't just love his nails.

He even let Rylie paint his nails red...with silver polka dots.

The funny about the toes is she only did one foot and he kept it on. He wore the pink nails all that day but before bed he took the paint off because he had a big meeting at work and thought it might be inappropriate. But he has yet to take the red off his toes and yesterday we went to the temple to do baptisms and out he walks with red toes....:) I am sure the temple workers got quite the chuckle.

Salt Lake City Marathon

Drew has always been a biker... and for the past couple of years has had his focus there. I have always begged him to run with me but it has never been anything more than just for fun. Right after LOTOJA a friend asked him to run the SLC marathon in April and he said yes. So he trained from then on for his first marathon.

Here he is on the morning of his race. Drew's mom is on a mission in SLC and she was nice enough to let us stay at her apartment so we didn't have to get a hotel. It also made is so we could just walk to the finish line.

This is his friend Randy that ran the race with him...they also bike together and he lives in our ward. He is a GREAT guy.

Here he is coming into the finish, I was so happy to capture a shot with him and a HUGE smile on his face. I guess it wasn't as bad as he thought..... he actually did really well considering this was his first marathon. He did start cramping at mile 15 (did not drink enough) so that slowed him down a bit but he still finished under 4 hours (3:50) which to me is amazing and I am so proud of him. Now if I could just get him to do a race with me....

Here they are after the race getting all their gear and food. They did offer the runners tons of food so that had to be nice.

Family moments

Easter

Easter morning is always fun for the kids, they really look forward to finding their baskets and seeing whats inside.

My Derrek
PEEPS! Gotta love them.... (or not)

My Nathan

My Rylie

We went to the Aggie spring Blue and White scrimmage and after the game you could go down and meet and greet the players and get signatures if you wanted. Derrek had brought his football with him to the game in hopes that he might be able to do that.

Here is Derrek and Nathan standing on the sidelines getting the courage to go out there and get that one signature they want....

And they got it. And then they were done. I love that my boys are so much like me...to nervous to go around to all the players and get all the signatures. Just get the one and your good and leave. I was proud of them to go down and get at least that one.

Naps on Dad. . . .

This is what you get when you put "DAD" in charge of a tired little girl while I am cooking dinner. It was 6pm and I did NOT want her going to sleep but with in seconds they both were....ugh! Drew was put in charge of her again that night when she wouldn't go to bed...hmm I wonder why.

Shirtless Snow Fun. . .

So when you have beautiful days where the kids are in shorts and then the next it snows....this is what you get. They actually played out there for about 30 minutes topless. Crazy kids, I guess boys will be boys.

Bear and Big Brother

Nate earned his bear a long time ago, but with the changing of scout leaders and us not hounding them, it took almost 5 months for him to finally have it awarded to him. He was excited to get it.

I am always telling people what a good brother Nathan is. He is so patient with Rylie and little kids. Some days he really plays better with the younger ones and has so much fun entertaining them. Here is another prime example of him being such a good brother. Rylie had made some swards and really wanted someone to play with her and he hopped right in. They had so much fun and make such cute little pirates.

Snow Fun....

Nate has always been so good to play with Rylie and he just knows how to entertain her and have lots of fun with her. Today it snowed soo much and Rylie really wanted to go play in it, and make a snowman. Nate did most of the making of the snowman and Rylie was in charge of all the accessories. I think that together they make a great team and did such a good job.

Here is Rylie showing off snowman #1

Here is Nate working on snowman #2

He is always good to smile for the camera :)

Here is the final product...not too bad

What a cute boy....

Do it herself....

Rylie loves to go and get her hair cut...she is all girl for sure. Awhile back she cut a few strands of hair and we had a BIG talk about how we don't cut our hair EVER. Time went on and she was "growing" her hair out. Her hair grows like mine, it doesn't :) Anyway, a little neighbor girl came over and she had just had a hair cut, a super cute bob type hair cut. This little girl had long gorgeous hair and decided to take matters into her own hands and chopped her hair off. Again I talked to Rylie about how we don't do that. Once she saw this little girls hair all she could think about was getting her hair cut off. I told her I wouldn't let her cut it that long but that she had a hair appointment in a week and we could cut LOTS off (little did she know I had total control on the lots). Anyway we went and got her hair cut, taking off 3-4 inches (which will take FOREVER to grow back). But she was happy and it looked cute. We cut it in an A-line in hopes we could still pull back the front. Well she decided to take scissors to her hair again and cut the right side off. It is hard to tell, because it really looks like it is all tapered in front, but really the front was the longest and now its the shortest. Again we talked about this and she now regrets cutting her hair and I hope she remembers this for a VERY long time. STINKER girl :)
