Kids Recap for March 10-16

I asked the kids what they liked about last week. These were their responses...

Gideon: Played in a basketball tournament with his club team. " It was fun cause I got to play basketball."

Jaycie: I liked when we ate the strawberries and we got a present for dad's birthday. And I liked when Maika came and I liked the cake  and when people were coming.

Jarom: I liked going to Trafalga for Sale's birthday because I was so good at rock climbing and I made it to the top. Oh that show Captain Marvel. I liked it because now I know in Infinity War that she can beat up Thanos. I liked hanging out with cousins.

Joslyn: It was fun because I got to help. Yesterday Sale got an easter egg hunt and it as fun. We got to do stuff for Sale's birthday like go to Trafalga and go to the hotel and swim and I don't know anything else.

Sale: What did you like about last week? " Watching Toothless and do that egg hunt and playing around and running and eating ice cream. And that's all.

A Simple Reminder

Yesterday I was getting ready to leave the house for the day. I had to take Maelia and Cruz home (they spent the night and did awesome). Kay said she'd watch the kids while I went to the temple. I was in the hurried stage of trying to get in the car. I kept noticing the kids phone plugged in by my bed. There were several times I had the thought to take it but shrugged it off because I already had my phone that was fully charged. As I was finally ready to leave I passed the phone a last time and finally gave in to the feeling that I should take it with me. I threw the kids phone in my purse and was off.

After the temple and a few errands I was loading the Yukon at Costco and realized I didn't have my phone.  I was running late and knew Jarom and Joslyn were going to be getting out of school soon. Did I leave it in Costco? Should I go retrace my steps making me really really late for Jarom and Joslyn? Or was it at Tucanos (the stop I made before Costco)? Suddenly it hit me, " I HAVE THE KIDS PHONE!" I used their phone to call my phone. I was hoping if I did leave it at Costco someone would hear it, answer it, and lead me back to it. After several rings no answer. I tried again but nothing. Last time, ring ring ring...Hello, are you looking for your phone? Yes I am. You left it at Tucanos I have it at the front desk. Amazing.

Driving home I thought how amazing God was. Some people may think it a coincidence I happened to have my kids phone. I chose to believe God knew his daughter would need a little help and gave me the extra nudge needed to get back in a timely matter for Jarom and Jos.

Very grateful for a Father in Heaven that cares about the little things in our lives because it matters to us.

God's Hand

There have been so many times this year where the hand of the Lord has been so evident. Recently we have had some really good friends go through a very difficult time. A few Sunday's ago before I went to church I said a prayer and asked if I could help someone that day. It wasn't something new but definitely something I hadn't been doing consistently. We went to church. Koki was on the stand (he was recently called as the first counselor in the Bishopric) and the two younger kids were struggling. I decided at the end of sacrament meeting enough was enough and I took Jaycie and Sale out. We ended up running into our cousins Crystal and Dennis Brown. They asked if we bought a new car and then wanted to see it so we all went out to look at Koki's car. On my way back in to church my close friend was walking up with her kids and her head was down. I told her its been a rough day and when she looked up she just started to cry. She didn't know why she was there. We hugged and she went on to tell me the week was really hard they found out about some abuse that had been going on and she just didn't want to be at church. I just let her cry and kept hugging her and telling her she could do it. Soon her husband walked by and he took over in consoling his sweet wife. Later that night when we went for a walk we happened to run into them again. This time we had the kids go home so we could talk if they wanted and they did. They told us about their last week and how much of a nightmare its been for them. She told me she knew it wasn't a coincidence that I was outside of church when she was walking in struggling and I told her about my prayer that morning. We both just cried and I right then was so grateful for a Father that knows exactly what his kids need.

Fast forward to this past Tuesday Koki and I went to the temple and were in the Celestial Room. Without knowing we were both praying for this sweet family and how to help. When I opened my eyes I see my friend and her husband walking towards us. They were in the Celestial room too.

There are no coincidences. God is all knowing and I really hope I teach my kids when they are having a hard time and they feel alone He is always there and will send help when we need it.

Happy 16th Anniversary

A few years ago we took the stress out of our wedding anniversaries and decided that we would plan them together. Its been amazing. We started our celebration the night before doing sealings at the temple. When we woke up we got the kids off to school then off we went to BYU education week. We had been doing this on and off the whole time we've been married. It was so great to go to where Koki and I started talking, Garden Court of the Wilk. We went up to where Koki worked and I'd meet him there after my classes, 4th floor of the Wilk. It used to be SHA but that is no longer there. We bought one of his favorite BYU treats: chocolate covered gummy bears. Then we went to a few classes. Of course we ate all day.

There are a lot of wonderful things I enjoy about our marriage. This week I was talking to a cousin about money and she asked me if we have ever been without. I told her no. I have taken that for granted. From day one Koki has been so good and providing for our family. I never have to work. He's always said if I want to work that's one thing but he never wants me to feel like I need to help make money for our family. I've been very very blessed to have a husband that provides for every need I can think of whether it be emotional, spiritual, physical it doesn't matter. He always provides and he provides well. Happy 16th anniversary to us. Eternity to go!

2018 Is Here

We had such a great night bringing in the New Year. We met up at Jay's for games and dessert. It was such a laid back super fun night. There was plenty for everyone to do. We had a Sequence challenge, Mafia, President's, spoons, and then just the good old fashion lay down and talk with each other. Probably one of my favorite New Years eve's.

The next day after we slept in we all met up at Rene's church and played sports. It was a great way to bring in the New Year.

Hy, Matt, and Kay just chillin' and talking

Koki and Sale

Nani, Tor, and Rion all finding their comfy spot for the night
