Herriman Fire

Hello All!

Thank you ALL for your emails, texts and calls. We SO appreciate your concern and are grateful for our friends.

Just a quick update as to what I know as of now.

Our good friend JT has been fighting the fires all night long. He was able to go to a hotel last night to sleep for a few hours. When he had gotten there after midnight they were chalking our neighborhood "the cove" as a total loss. He didn't tell my friend (his wife) that information until after he went back in this morning at 4:30 and the homes at that point had not been touched. Luckily the winds had died down and they were able to save the homes in our neighborhood. They were burning in the back yards of our close neighbors. One home technically in our neighborhood but not part of our HOA is a complete loss (we can see their horses from our front yard).

Most of Herriman is allowed back home. Our neighborhood is not at this point allowed back in and may not be able to go back today at all. The hotspots that remain are in "the cove". We are praying for the wind to stay calm so the fires aren't reignited.

You can see updates obviously on the news but this site is updated every few min and gives a lot of good information. http://twitter.com/bereadyherriman We are South of 14200 S. as mentioned in the posts.

We were able to get one of our 2 cats out of the house. The other was hiding and the officers had to escort us out because we were taking too long looking for her. We hope she is ok as the smoke was crazy up there.

We'll keep you updated.

To respond, please email chazens@q.com that will be easier for me to reply.

Monthly Updates

Apparently I am updating on only a monthly basis. My 365 blog has taken over all of my thoughts and ideas so here is a recap since the last post.
Summer is basically over. School starts for Miss Alexa tomorrow. She is THRILLED. She met her teacher yesterday and can not wait until tomorrow morning. It will be a very fun day!
Soccer started last week as well. The first game is coming on Saturday. I can't go. :( I'm bummed but I know that there are plenty more to see.
We celebrated my friend Jennie's 30th bday last week and Grandpa Etcheverry's the week before that.
The kids have enjoyed some bursts of rain here and there and love to play and dance during the downpours.
Uncle Ray was asked to throw the first pitch at the SLC Bees game. It was so fun to get to see.
We have spent countless hours outside in the sunshine playing, swimming and splashing. The kids can't get enough of playing with their friends.
Saturday Gavin was choking and after some beating on his back he finally swallowed a dime. It came out the other end the next morning. GOOD TIMES! :)
Hopefully another post will come sooner than later!

Play Time

I thought these pictures were fun.

Gavin LOVES to do somersaults. He'll do 20 at a time until he is too dizzy to move.
He is very good at them too. Perfect form!

Alexa is still loving her BFF's.

What's New....

I have been a slacker, I know! I've had a "talking to" by many relatives about my blog (non)-posting so here is a run down on what is new.

We celebrated the 4th of July with both the Jepson and Chazen clans.

(I don't have any photos from the 4th celebrations so you get my outside decor as the 4th pix :) )

I started walking a few nights a week with some fun girls from the ward.
My poor gym shoes were missing me since my summer gym attendance in nearly non existent.

I have been spending a lot of time with my nieces. Especially Sierra.
Judy, the kids and I went to Park City one afternoon to watch Sierra perform at the last day of her drill team camp. She was VERY ill and won the best awards anyhow. She is awesome.

We have been working on the yard a lot. It is finally looking great. We now only have 2 items to check off the completion list. This is one of MANY mini boulders I dug up to plant shrubs.

We are still outside a lot. Playing with the neighbor kids is still the highlight.

We have had MANY late nights! I've decided to start getting back into our "school year" routine beginning in August.

Alexa is still loving dance. She is a "ladybug" and is excelling in her tumbling class. She has improved so much in two short months at this new studio. I'm very impressed with the teachers and the things they are teaching Alexa.

I have been doing a lot of photo shoots (view them HERE) and some card designs too.
I have also designed a few blogs, logos, blog buttons and marketing ad's. Here are a two Momma Jenn's and Miss Michelle's.

We went to the KOA in Nephi for a day to visit the Chamberlains and yesterday we went to the Sheep Camp in Croydon for a fun BBQ and 4-wheeler ridin' afternoon.

I also started my 365 photo blog... it is interesting. I'm running out of ideas already but it is fun!
