STARS Dance Recital 2009

Greg and I are both shocked, amazed and proud of Miss Alexa. She went on stage for both dances and wasn't scared a bit! She was AWESOME!

Dance 1: "Ever After" from Enchanted. They start out on their knees on the floor. The second that she got down their she noticed that her shoe lace was untied. It was all down hill from there. The first 3/4ths of the dance she sat on the floor messing with her laces. OH BOY. Greg was in the back DYING saying "get up, get up". I was sweating to death thinking the same thing and wondering what the heck I was supposed to be taking pictures of. ;) She did finally get up right at the end. BUT.. she was not scared and was actually quite excited and happy to be up there. She loved the audience and when she came off the stage you could see how proud of herself that she was. She was very happy.

(messing with the laces)

Dance 2: "HOT HOT HOT" - This dance went much better. She grinned the entire way out onto the stage and you could see a little smirk every time people would clap. She really enjoyed the attention. She was a crack up. Although she didn't do much "dancing" I am SO SO SO happy that she went out there and that she wasn't afraid. 3 years old in front of a huge audience, I could not have asked for more out of her.
She is getting so big and I am SO proud of her!

(Sorry for the fuzzy pictures. I was so nervous that I didn't realize that my camera was on the wrong setting. Grandpa Fred thankfully got some video of her. I'll get it up soon. THANKS DAD!)

{Dance Recital}

Tomorrow is Alexa's first ever dance recital. Greg and I are VERY nervous.
At her studio there are 5 classes in the 3-5 yr old age group. The class that she is in only has 4 girls. The other 3 girls are all 5 or approaching 5 years old. Alexa just turned 3. Not only is she by far the youngest dancer in her class, I'm pretty sure she is the youngest dancer in the entire studio.
I keep telling Greg and myself that she is nearly 2 years younger than the rest of the girls in her class and that she is ONLY 3. BUT.. we are still super nervous that her fan club will show up and she will either NOT go on stage or she will just stand there and freak out. I have been trying to prep her all week and we have been practicing her dances like crazy.
Tomorrow night, I will "return and report". Yikes!

Cute Butt!

Back in the pre-children days when Greg would come to all of the STARS competitions with me, he was nick named "cute butt" by Shirley. A 70+ year old grandma from California. Now I am officially passing on that title to Gavin. He definitely has a "cute butt". ;) (He'll kill me for this in 20 years)

OH BOY... or GIRL... or DUCK???

NO NO NO... we are not having another baby.
ALEXA IS!!!
Last week she was into "getting married". She told her uncle Chris that she was going to marry daddy. Daily, she would put on her white cape and tell me that she would be back, she was going to get married in the Temple.
This week, it is all about having a baby in her belly. She asked a "larger" mom at dance class if she had a baby in her belly (I was mortified). She also puts anything "round" or an animal up her shirt and tells me she has a baby in her belly. Today was her duck. It is a girl baby named baby duck Annaroo.?.?
Boy, does she have an imagination lately! And she really must pay attention to pregnant women. She walks around with both hands holding her "baby" just like expecting mothers.
