SuperMOM

So recently my extremely talented sister posted some pics of some capes she randomly decided to make her boys during their naptimes.

This is also the sister who makes the most adorable baby boy neckties in her etsy shop DAPPER DUDE

Well being pretty amazing myself I put my talents together and made Bruin a super hero get up as well.
Materials: Pair of underwear that unraveled in the washer; Scissors
AND VIOLA!

I know, I know... How do I find time to do this while juggling two kids??
I'm a supermom, quite simple.

March Maddening..I mean Madness

Basketball and brackets consuming the days this week. Last weekend I ended up going on a girl-date with my friend, Shalee, and we got dinner and saw Red Riding Hood. It was as good as the Twilight producers could make it! Better acting :)
Also this week I finally received Bruin's new booster seat in the mail. I was so excited and after the boys went down for bed that night I opened it up and put it all together.

I even went out to the street and got it all set up in our car at 10 o'clock at night.
Well, the next day was one of those days where I didn't go anywhere and just did the nap cycle of the two kids. So it wasn't until the day after that I opened the door to put Bruin in his new seat and realized... it was hot pink. No where on the amazon did it say it was pink! It was so dark when I was putting it together and everything I just thought it was red. So I had to laugh and I thought, well oh well I guess he has a hot pink car seat... I kept looking back at him while I was driving and just laughing.

Well finally, I just couldn't justify the $69.99 for a seat that looked ridiculous on what both my boys would be in so I had to take it all apart and ship it back. *sigh* I'm not waiting anymore for one, I think I'll be going to Target or Babies R Us today.

Also, we got a few family pics on St. Patrick's Day I'll post below. I didn't even realize it was St. Patrick's until half the day was over so I didn't do anything cute or special! Oh well, there's always next year, and I'm sure they'll understand what's going on a little better too. These were the best pics we could get at bedtime with a camera on timer

Lately

Just random pics and stories to document. Also, I've update Crew and Bruin's blogs as well.

I have started back working on my patio furniture and have sanded and stained the table so far. It looks SO GOOD! I'm really happy with the stain color. I forgot to take a before and after pic but I snatched one as I was staining it. When I finish the entire set I will post it.

Phil's got some skiing in this last month and that made him happy.

If we lived near mountains, I swear I'd never see the man.. Hopefully someday one or more of his kids will take up the passion too and go with him cuz I am not a snow-lover. He's tries his hardest to change my mind but it ain't happening.

I am a cool wife though in other ways I suppose! (or at least I tell myself)... This here is a pic of what our dinner was the other night.

New York steaks. Chips. Dip. Soda. What more could a man want? LOL

Phil made an awesome castle with our blocks. Bruin helped. Or at least he did well not knocking it all down. The funniest thing was that the entire time Bruin was set on getting his toy lizard inside the castle and Phil kept telling him no you'll knock it down.

The castle had been up for a day or so and Phil and I were out in the garage doing something when we heard a blood curdling scream. We both sprinted into the house, only to find that Bruin had knocked a few of the blocks from the castle wall down and there sitting inside the castle was his lizard.

The weather has been warming up here. It's been the 60's and I've been able to go outside with the boys and shake the winter cobwebs off us. We even took a trip to the zoo. Bruin has a hard time playing outside by himself so until Crew is old enough to give him some company, this is working :) Both kids happy. Momma happy

Not much else going down. Happy. Healthy. Content

SD

Phil and I were looking forward to last weekend for weeks now, and couldn't WAIT to go on a much needed vacation with our good friends from college, the Barneys. We have made an oath to go on one trip a year together, someday being without kids, but for now the little bugs get to come along :) So naturally we stuck Bruin in the closet to sleep and Crew in the bathroom, so it FELT like we were there alone... teehee!

So we spent an extended weekend in San Diego, eating GREAT food that probably clogged all of our arteries (seriously...bbq ribs, steaks, brisket, smoked pulled porked, the list goes on)... lounging in the hottub and finding entertaining things to do with the kids.
First stop was the at the Mormon Batallion center in Old Town San Diego where we got to see their interactive movie and pan for gold. It was cute

Phil and Royce scored some awesome tickets to the BYU vs. San Diego basketball game and had a blast sitting in the San Diego section wearing Cougar Blue.

Us girls got to enjoy some kid-free time the day before and went to the movies and shopped! We decided to see The Eagle because of a certain Roman soldier named Channing Tatum.... it was very much a guy movie but we enjoyed it none the less!.. seriously, there wasn't one bit of love story or women ANYTHING in the entire movie! The weird guy who sat next to us in the entirely empty theatre was probably very disappointed but we weren't!
While we were gone, the men took the kiddos to the beach where Bruin got assaulted by a big wave and almost dragged out to sea as the men looked on. Just kidding they helped him. They had a great time and Crew got his first face full of sand so it was a success!

We were sad to leave but we look forward to the next vacation we get to take with them. Seriously, the coolest couple ever. Thanks BFFs!
