Keep Going

Life is moving forward in the Casper home. Crew is now almost a month old and becoming more alert and a bit more fussy (why must the newborn phase go away??). We are seeing more smiles but can't seem to catch one on camera yet. He's really a sweet baby and we are really enjoying him.

I've been really amazed at how much different having baby #2 has been for us in comparison to when we had our first. My recovery was MUCH quicker, no baby blues or post-pardum depression, no mastitis or horrible soreness from nursing, and less worrying about "schedules" and doing things "right." Two is a handful, don't get me wrong, but its just not so much a life change for us like it was when we had Bruin.
I am pumping bottles again because I so much enjoy the freedom it gives me and I love being able to monitor how much he's eating. I still nurse him once or twice a day to ward of mastitis and so he still knows how to do it.
We don't get out too much yet though. I've been extremely lazy and the thought of hauling two kids around to parks and stores doesn't thrill me. Phil's been working in-town a lot more lately though so he's been a lot of help. Usually I can leave one of them at home with him and go run my errands, which makes it much easier to face.
Yesterday we blessed Crew at church and Phil did a great job. He is such a good daddy and loves his kids so much. I love to watch him snuggling with Crew or wrestling with Bruin. We are hoping to make some changes in work here pretty soon which will let him be home more with the family and not always traveling. I am sick of feeling like a single-parent and he is sick of living in hotels. Hopefully everything will work out and our prayers will be answered soon!
Thats all for now. I'll be making a private blog here soon for Crew just like Bruin's so I can journal his updates, protect him from weirdos, and keep this one from being a baby-blog. Let me know if u want me to add u, I won't think its strange if you're not family or something don't worry :)

Here is my mother-in-law with Bruin and Crew when she came to visit. She was the reason I got any sleep that first week :) and the reason I have some very yummy homemade strawberry jam in my freezer! Thank u! Come visit us again soon!
