VT

You know you've become a MOM when you look through your scheduled DVR Recordings for the next week and get excited that Veggie Tales is on tomorrow.... This happened to me last night. So sad. That show is hilarious though! AND it has a great message every time. It makes me so glad that they still allow cartoons that talk about God to play on television. Go Veggie Tales!

Read It

Ok so I read that book "Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins that I mentioned in my earlier blog and woowee it was good! Anyone looking for something to read should pick it up from their library. The description on the book sounds a little disturbing but about 30 pages into it you won't be able to put it down.

Other news...
This past week Phil and I have been steadily working out and it feels so good! Phil also got called as the ward youth basketball coach and they won their first game on Wednesday :) He plays on a men's basketball team as well cuz he likes the work out.
Bruin's been a naughty boy.. I'm convinced he hates our apartment. He's such a happy little guy whenever we go anywhere and can sit and entertain himself just fine. The minute we get home he's whining and wants to be held and Phil and I are exhausted! Maybe he doesn't like the way our apartment smells... it DOES smell kinda old... or maybe he just thinks we're boring, although I think I make a pretty good tickle monster. Most likely its just a phase, and I'm just holding on to that thought!

Read On

I finished the third book in the ERAGON series a couple of days ago and was actually kind of upset because I had no idea there was going to be a 4th book.. and it isn't even written yet :( I don't want to wait to find out what happens next!!! Although this series was a bit Lord of the Ringsy, I still really enjoyed them and would recommend them to anyone looking for something to read. So now I'm back to not knowing what to read next. I need recommendations if anyone has any!

I have a book on hold at the Library called "Hunger Games" which was recommended by Stephanie Meyer on her site.. It must be good because I was like #47 on the waiting list for it a few weeks ago. Has anyone read it? P.S. I am still waiting for "Twilight" to come into the cheap theaters.. yes I know, I must not be a true fan if I haven't seen it yet. But I am and as soon as its there I am dropping off Bruin and dragging Phil to the movies with me :)

Not much else going on in our lives right now. We're just enjoying the 67 degree weather here today and counting our blessings we're not in Rexburg again this winter! Toodleloo!

I Need to Relax on a Beach

So I'm pretty sure the teething has begun... This morning he kept biting me while nursing and I was getting pretty ticked. I kept thumping his nose and saying "no" but he would just frown his cute sad little frown and then do it again. Then after his morning nap I gave him a bottle (cuz I wasn't about to get bitten again) and he wouldn't take it! He was screaming and screaming. I even tried giving him it in his sippy cup and that made him scream more. I couldn't nurse him even if I wanted to because I had just pumped so finally I just stuck him in his Bumbo and fed him his entire bottle with a spoon mixed with rice cereal. He ate it up just fine and more. Afterwards he was doing ok, just wanting something in his mouth always but then when I was holding him he decided to puke up his entire stomach contents all over my shoulder and back. It was disgusting!! I had to put everything I was wearing straight into the washing machine, along with what he was wearing and the blanket I had been sitting on. Yuck.. I hate days like today. I gave him some Tylenol earlier but he still fussed and screamed until he conked out and now he's sleeping. Oh heavens, please let me make it through today and any more days it takes until that tooth breaks through!

Great Pics

My oldest sister picked up photography as a hobby this past year and has really discovered a talent. She took some photos while we were in Utah and I just got them back... They are so cute I wanted to share!

And now these videos are for the family. This is Phil and I's entertainment

Do you think he likes pears?....

Oh and if anyone is looking for an exersaucer type thing for their baby I found the perfect one! Its made my Little Einsteins and its called the Activity Jumper. My sister April had one and I fell in love with it so I've been stalking craigslist for it for the past two months. About a week before Christmas I gave up and we just bought it at Target and considered it a Christmas gift. THE VERY NEXT DAY, two different people posted the exact one on craigslist. It was crazy! So I returned the one we bought to Target and picked one of them up for the half the price and in great condition!! Another craigslist success :) Bruin LOVES the thing and its nice because I can set him in it and do the dishes or cook or whatever I need to do. It swivels around 360 degrees and you can raise and lower it to adjust to them growing. Here's a pic

and yes.. that is spit up on his lip....I didn't notice it until after the pic was taken. Sorry :)

A Fabulous Christmas Vacation

What a wonderful Christmas Vacation we had this year! My entire family flew in to Salt Lake from all over the country and we all met up in Midway, UT at a resort called Zermatt. We drove with my parents all the way to Midway, stopping in Las Vegas to stay the night and break it up so the trip wasn't too hard on Bruin. He did wonderfully and just played and slept and ate. We just made sure to get him out everytime we stopped for gas or food.

At the resort we all just hung out, played in the snow, hottubbed, went bowling, got massages/pedicures, and the guys went skiing and snowmobiling. It was so nice to be able to spend every day with my sisters while chasing around my nephews and playing board games with my brother-in-laws. Ooh how I love Settlers of Catan! Here are some pics of the week!

Christmas Eve Dinner

Grandpa Santa paid a visit to all his grandsons

Uncle Phil with Jax and Gavin before going out into the snow

Going skiing/snow boarding with the brother-in-laws, Ryan and Devin.

First time in the hottub. Don't worry.. we just dipped him and held him mostly above with his feet in!

Me and my mom and sisters at the bowling alley in Heber

Bruin fell asleep when we got to the bowling alley so we set him in his carseat and covered him up with my jacket and played... well it was pretty loud in there so we didn't hear when he woke up so he was screaming by the time we heard him and got him out. haha poor little guy!

Figuring out his first sippy cup.. It was so cute!

The men snowmobiling. They had a blast!

Phil's birthday happened while we were up there so we all went out to dinner that night for sushi... well Happy Sumo's wait was 2 hours long so we ate next door at "Shoots" (a Chinese restaurant) and ordered some sushi to go from Happy Sumo's and snuck it in :) I don't do sushi but supposedly it was pretty dang good, especially the Vegas roll...? Anyways Phil is now an old 26 year old. Happy Birthday Phil!

By New Year's Eve, half of the family had left but those of us still there celebrated with Martinellis, chocolate covered strawberries, and Ben&Jerrys Ice cream while we played Rummikub :)

I definitely gained a few pounds from all the treats up there cuz when I got home I looked like I was pregnant again and actually wondered if I was! haha

We also took family pictures that turned out so cute! My cousin Pete is a great photographer and drove up and took them for us. We took some all together in our BYU clothes too which turned out cute. I tried to take one from his blog to show but the website wouldn't let me... they were really cute and if you want you can find them on www.stottphotography.com (Lundquist Family Photos)

Thank you so much to my parents who made this happen and for all my sisters and their husbands for coming this year. I don't know when it will happen again with our families expanding so much but I hope that I will be able to at least visit each of them this next year (its hard now without my flight benefits!).

Next year we will get to spend Christmas with Phil's family! This year they went on a cruise out of Florida and we were lucky to be able to see them during a long layover they had in Salt Lake. We hung out at Tyler's inlaws' house and everyone got to play with Bruin and see his cute little smiles. We hope they do another cruise next year.... hah!

Hope everyone else had a fabulous Christmas!
