Too Big to Paint

Phil was thrilled to paint my toenails for me, as you can tell...

Traveling Baby

I am sick and tired of traveling! ..Because I work for an airline I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity to fly standby to wherever I need to for free, and I am grateful for that. However there are times, especially now almost 8 months pregnant, that I wish the option wasn't even available so I didn't have to deal with yucky take-off and landings and sitting in airports for hours waiting on flights. With all the applications I've had to fill out for apartments, insurance, etc I really needed some of our important statements/documents in Rexburg... Being that this stuff is so time sensitive with the ticking time bomb in my belly of course the logical thing was to fly to Rexburg and pick up the stuff so I could get the applications rolling. So here is a glimpse of what my past few days have been like..
Wednesday- Flew to Salt Lake... couldn't get into Idaho Falls from there so flew to Denver. Flew from Denver to Idaho Falls. Drove home to scary dark apartment in Rexburg at midnight. Thursday- Woke up early and ran errands needed in Rexburg. Returned to Idaho Falls airport at noon. Flew from Idaho Falls to Denver. Waited in Denver 3 hours. Flew from Denver to Fresno. Got home 8pm.
Saturday- At 1pm decided to get the packing started early and flew from Fresno to Salt Lake City. Flew from Salt Lake to Idaho Falls... Here to stay for a week while packing and then driving from Rexburg to Fresno for 14 hours in a UHAUL on Saturday/Sunday.
Boy am I SICK of traveling! Just for fun I decided to figure out how many flights our little baby has been on and found that since he was conceived he's flown on 46 flights! I figured I'd record it for fun for him so he could brag to his brothers and sisters someday about how well traveled he was :) I wonder though if he'll grow up to subconsciously hate flying??...

FresYES

It's official. We are moving to Clovis and away from Idaho! It is sad but exciting at the same time. Sad, because we will miss all of our friends and our awesome ward there in Rexburg. Happy, because we can settle down and start our family and post-college lives finally! We're excited to be living near my parents and for the great California weather once again in our lives (besides the 2-3 months of 100 degree heat in the summer!) This next month is gonna be crazy settling in, finding a new doctor/hospital, insurance, etc at 8 months pregnant but that's fine with me because it gives me something to focus on besides how heavy and achey I feel! Yay for the months ahead!

Beautifying

Phil and my dad did an extreme yard makeover in one day on the front lawn. It was pretty before but my dad wanted to add rocks and many more plants for that extra touch to make his lawn the best on the block :) They did an awesome job. My mom and I watched in the shade with cool drinks in hand... what? It was 100 degrees out there!

7 months

7 months along now and steadily putting on the pounds.... He's kicking all the time and I have fun poking him back... I think it startles him cuz he'll stop for awhile and then go at it again. Its so strange to feel a hard little limb inside of you stretching against your belly but I'm glad for it because it makes the idea of a baby more real to me. I'm really excited to meet this little guy and am so grateful to be a woman and experience pregnancy - heartburn and all!

Random Storytime

Phil and I love to be out in the sun any chance we get. With Rexburg being so rainy lately as soon as we see sunshine we rush outside and go to the park. On Saturday we went and played tennis and then Phil started kicking our volleyball really high and we'd see if we could catch it (it was a really bouncy type of volleyball so it just bounced right off your chest).. Anyways, the ball got stuck in a tree and we spent FOREVER trying to get it out! It was pretty funny...I tried throwing our tennis balls while Phil used big rocks. With all the little branches getting in the way I thought we'd never get it. Then, Phil's rock got stuck in the tree and it took another 10 minutes to get THAT down so we could use it to hit the ball down! I was so proud when Phil finally hit the ball just right and it came down! That was our fun day at the park.

Ode to Asparagus

Last night our friend Jason brought back some asparagus for us from Washington. I can't tell you how happy this made me! I LOVE Asparagus! I didn't discover it until my in-laws forced me to try it a few years back and thank goodness they did. So tonight I was eating some with dinner and it inspired me to write a poem :) Enjoy my Ode To Asparagus!

Long, thin and green

Like fingers tickling my tongue
I find it very mean
To have never been served it when I was young

This vegetable I crave
For it is not like any other
Steamed is my fave
With lots of salt and lots of butter

Every year I wait
For this crop to sprout its head
This May it was late
It came to me in June instead

But now I'm complete
Having eaten the best of this
Wonderful, flavorful
Washington Asparagus!

Thank You, Thank You.. I know, I'm brilliant

Morphs

I got talking tonight with some friends about the Morphs we've done on the MorphThing website so I thought I'd post these pics of Phil and I morphed together. I'm hoping the real combination of our genes produce kids much cuter!!
