Birthday trip

We are off to Leavenworth for 4 days. My birthday is tomorrow (I'll be 27!). I know, I know...I'm getting soooooooo old. :) I promise to take pics and post them when we're back.

What if that were my son? Right now he's sleeping in his bed. Right now somewhere, a baby's being aborted, theives are breaking in and destroying someone's home and life, a husband or wife has committed adultery, teens are rebelling against their parental authority, a child's being abused....the list goes on....but would I give my son for those people? God did. What about the girl who made good grades, followed (for the most part) her parents rules, didn't get into (too much) trouble? That was me. But I was lost. I was relying on a work based faith thinking I was "a pretty good" person. God sacrificed his son for me too. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. I struggled for years with my pride thinking I wasn't "that bad" of a person but God says..."As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one" Romans 3:10. In March 2001, God gave me the realization that there was NOTHING in me that could be good enough to obtain salvation. No good works or traditions of man could get me into heaven. AND I realized heaven is REAL, hell is REAL, sin is REAL and because of that sin I was doomed for a place in hell. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 Praise God for his tremendous sacrifice for mankind. God loves me that much!!!! And he loves you that much!!! God's salvation gift is free! "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." That whosoever is ME and YOU! :)
I know when asked my greatest fear a lot of times my response is to lose one of my children or my husband but God willingly went through the pain and agony and sacrificed His ONLY son. Jesus did bridge the gap that sin has placed between God and man.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Christmas!!

I realize I change my blog more than I change diapers. I know Thanksgiving's not here yet but I'm in the Christmas spirit...especially after the little decorating for Christmas get together I went to yesterday. I just wanted to let everyone else know that there are tons more super duper cute Christmas backgrounds. Have fun!

For Crystal...

To all my blogging friends please disregard this post. Crystal, my emails are not sending out. I've tried emailing you several times but it's just not working so my guess for baby Tara...born December 4...7 lbs. 15 oz. 20 in. Let me know as soon as you can after having her. (I can still receive emails) I'm praying for you and so excited for your family. Also, can you relay a message to Alicia and Katie? Tell them we're going to be in MO December 10-16. My parents are flying our family down for an early Christmas. I haven't seen them in 6 years! Love ya! Take care.

Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape, but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future, but a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be God's blessings and capitalizes on them.
A strong woman walks sure footed, but a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls.
A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face, but a woman of strength wears grace.
A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey, but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

For the sake of posting...

I realize my blog's a little "stale" lately as Tommy might put it. I've even been called lazy by a good friend (you know who you are!) :) So....for the sake of posting something here are some pics. Some are from the pumpkin patch and a couple others are of my kids. When all else fails, post pictures of the kids. :)
