I wasn't the best photographer on his birthday, but my hubby got spoiled! Lots of books, new mountain bike + accessories (after his other was stolen), a new cell phone, money from family, and art supplies (the only thing I did get pictures of him opening). He has begged me forever to buy a canvas and paint to just see what he could create, so I indulged him! I love this guy, even if he rocks bed head like nobodies business (in his defense he had just woken up)!

Scrumptious Sundays
Butterfinger Balls
1 lb candy corn
1 (16 oz) jar of peanut butter
1 bag of Hershey's milk chocolate chips
Melt candy corn in the microwave stirring every 20-30 seconds. Add peanut butter and mix thoroughly. Let cool in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Line a cooking sheet with parchment paper and place a cooling rack on top. Form balls from the candy corn and peanut butter mixture. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 15 second increments. Dip balls in chocolate and let set on the cooling rack allowing the excess chocolate to drip through onto the paper. Place in the fridge until hardened. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

St. George
We ran away to St. George last weekend for roughly 36 hours! It was short and sweet, but the weather was oh so worth it! It was overcast and about 80 degrees the entire time (sure beats 110). We were able to see my cousin and his family, go to a little swap meet where my hubby bought me 2 cute necklaces and earrings, see Grease at Tuacahn, and spend time with Phil's parents and one of his brothers and his family swimming, playing games, and relaxing. We had a great time!

Gel Booties
by Earth Therapeutics®
I am a flop flop lovin' gal and cracks are just inevitable...until I was introduced to these booties! I can't believe the difference one night makes! I lather my feet with lotion, slip these booties on (not gonna lie, it feels weird), and the next morning my feet are practically doing a happy dance! Soft and no cracks!

My Thoughts on 30
Once upon a time I had this ambitious idea. I knew I was struggling with the thought of turning 30. It not only sounds old to say I am out of my 20's, but some days I feel like I have nothing to show for it {i.e. no kids, no home, no career}. I figured if I thought of 30 things that I wanted to do and accomplish before I turned 30, then I'd be all right with my inevitable birthday. So I started with an enthusiastic banner for myself! 30 before 30 was my catchphrase!
Then the obvious happened. I was super excited, but the list became more of a chore than something I wanted to accomplish. Then I felt guilty, then I wanted to give up. I laid awake one night {annoyed at myself} when all of a sudden I had an "ah ha" moment! Why in the world do I have to do it before my 30th birthday?! I am going about this list like I am about to die. Instead I decided to CELEBRATE my 30th year by doing 30 things while I am 30 to prove to myself that 30 can be great. So I jumped out of bed at 2:27 am and fixed my inspirational banner to reflect my new catchphrase. 30 while 30!
I am happy to report that this does make me look forward to being 30! I know all you nosey people want to know what's on my list...but I won't be sharing it until my birthday because in an odd way, it is a gift to myself! So stay tuned because October 1st the list will be up! I will use my blog to journal items as they happen so you can see them get crossed off {plus it makes me accountable}!
