L-o-G-a-N

On Saturday Kathrin and I headed to Logan (about an hour & a 1/2 away) so that Kathrin could take Kami's bridal pictures. Any trip longer than 30 minutes of course must be titled a road trip! So we got our sodi pops and headed out on the road. Before we let them know we arrived, we had to stop at Gossner's to get some squeaky cheese, and at the Blue Bird Cafe for some toffee. Then we headed to Kami's sister's house, where she was getting ready. While Kami was putting on her dress, we had time for a quick photo shoot with the veil . . .
We went to 3 different places for pictures, Kami looked GORGEOUS so the pictures turned out lovely. I would post some, but I know Erik checks my blog *Booya Grandma!!!* so I can't until after he sees her in the wedding dress, in only 10 more days!!!

After pictures Kami, Kami's sister & Brother-in-law; Heidi & Clayton, Kathrin and I went to a yummy Mexican joint for a delicious meal. Thanks again!

Such a fun girls afternoon/night, yippee for road trips, and Logan!

I sure do love this man

I am so smitten, absolutely so madly in love with this boy.
He spoils me rotten;
Cooking me dinner & having it ready for me when I walk in the door
Cooking any time we have company over
Helping me clean the house
Listening to me talk for hours at end
He has so many wonderful things about him that I absolutely adore;
His sense of humor
His determination
His incredible intelligence
His work ethic
His patience for his ditsy wife
The list goes on and on. . .
I am one very lucky lady.

Oink! Oink!

Who's hungry?
We had a Luau for work and this was the main course

Eventful Weekend

We had a very busy weekend, it involved a lot of cooking, cleaning and running around. . .

Friday night was Michael's work party. The week prior Michael had volunteered to help with the food for the event, I was thinking it would just be marinating the meat. But he and his boss went to Costco and he came home Thursday night with stuff for Pasta salad, Green salad, Fruit salad AND about 30 steaks and 30 chicken breasts to marinate! So we were up until about 11:30 cooking, cutting and throwing everything together. Then on Friday night we headed over to one of Michael's co-worker's home for the party. It was a really fun night. There are about 10 employees and all of them were there with there families. His boss did a drawing with a HUGE TV, camera's, Ipods and tools. Michael won the Camera- and his very nice boss gave all the wife's $100 bones "for supporting their husbands" He is so great. Michael even threw me in the pool, fully clothed, with white shorts on!

Saturday we got up pretty early (well, 10, but that is still a lot earlier than I would have liked) And we started baking about 10 dozen cookies for Erik and Kami's open house/ shower. We made rice krispie treats, chocolate chip cookies and no bake cookies. My mom threw them a shower for their "reception" since they are not doing a reception on the day of their wedding (they are just doing a dinner for close family and friends). We weren't able to make it to the event (Yes, I did feel really bad for missing it, but we had tickets to the Police concert for months! Erik said it was okay, because we were going to the actual wedding day festivities and he said he would do the same thing if he were in our position). So we wanted to help as much as possible- thus the 10 dozen cookies =) This is Michael when he opened the cocoa container. It was all over the place!

I surprised Michael for his birthday clear back in April to tickets for the Sting and The Police concert. So we headed over to my parents house at about 5 (the concert started at 7:30) We parked there which was wonderful, so we didn't have to mess with any traffic, my dad took us over there at about 5:45 to wait in line for them to open the gates and let us in. It was so freaking hot! But I guess that is what you get in July in Utah =). We got pretty good seats and I got some major people watching in, there are some CRAZY people that like to go to concerts, Michael said that I people watched more than I actually paid attention to the concert. It was a wonderful concert, and we both had a lot of fun. Michael and I decided that Sting is a very good looking older man =)

It was a really great weekend, but we were happy when Sunday finally came and we were able to sleep in and just take it easy!

Memory Tag!

I got this from Rachelle and it looked like so much fun. . .

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. Remember, if you can't say anything nice, don't say nothin' at all (Kathrin) (ha ha ha, just kidding- you can write anything you want)! I can't wait to see what people remember!

"This is the bomb, huh!?"

Saturday night we had Alan and April and their cute kids, Victoria, Brayden and Audrey over for dinner and to go swimming. For our fabulous meal, Michael made some EXCELLENT pizza (of course, since he is the Chef in our house hold Brayden and Toria even got their own little "Kid size" pizzas). Along with Doritos and Cottage cheese (they just go hand in hand, pizza and chips and cottage cheese). After we all got our fill we got all of our suits on to headed out to our pool. . .

Brayden and Victoria had so much fun taking turns wearing uncle Michael's goggles and looking under the water for the diving rockets, so they could point them out to Alan and Michael to go get. Little Audrey just LOVED the water, she was so cute the entire time, just smiling at anyone that would swim past her. She was kicking her little legs and giggling all over the place. Brayden swam up to me and said "This is the bomb, huh?!" Lol. I don't know where he comes up with these things, my mom told me that he is now saying "super duper up to heaven" instead of "for real". He is so cute. Victoria was just a little fish and was going all over the entire pool, when I tried to pull her around she got frustrated because she could do it herself. (silly Aunt Laura).

After we all got out of the pool, Victoria and Brayden were freezing so they asked Michael for some hot chocolate. Yeah, in July. Then we gave them a licorice rope and Brayden goes "Wow, that's bigger than me!". We had so much fun playing with kids, and it was fun hanging out with Alan and April too =)

Lunch Date

I got to go on a date for lunch on Friday with some of THE coolest people in Utah. . .(=

It was my mom and Trace Face and Aunt Kat! It was so much fun to just get to together for lunch (I wish it could have been just a little bit longer, I did only have an hour lunch break). I love spending time with my mom and my sisters (that ABSOUTELY includes April and Kami). We always have such a good time when we get together. I am so grateful to for my family and how close we are. I love spending time with them, and being able to meet up just for lunch every once in a while. Thanks guys for coming all the way out to Draper to eat with me! I love you!

IoWa

The first picture is of Wyoming- where we spent about 5 hours driving and the second picture is Nebraska where we spent about 7 hours driving. Exciting isn't it?

We made it! 15 hours each way and we are back from our great, but short vacation to the family reunion in Iowa. We left on Tuesday afternoon, stopped in Nebraska for the night then arrived to our destination of Des Moines on Wednesday afternoon. The drive was long, but fun. I really do like road trips, especially when I am riding with Michael (Awww. . .). We always have so much fun hanging out with each other. Now, it is just hard to have to go back to work and be away from each other, after we have spent the last 6 days together, non stop. Anyway, here are some fun details from our trip (sorry, it is a little long =))

We Finally got to Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday afternoon. And after we found a hotel and got all freshened up, we headed over to Uncle Hugh and Aunt Maureens to visit and eat some yummy food. Their home is absolutely gorgeous, and I am madly in love with their yard. Iowa is so green and so luscious, most of the homes that we drove by have a huge yard. I would totally live in Iowa, if it weren't for, no mountains, their winters, and of course being so far away from family- but otherwise, I would move in a heart beat =)

On Thursday we went to Adventure land, where the majority of the family for the family reunion were able to attend. Adventure land is a lot like Lagoon, but a little bit more spacey. We had so much fun going on all of the rides. We went around the majority of the time with Michael's little brother and little sister, Jesse and Allison- That way when Michael was too chicken to go on the high rides, or the twirly rides, I would have someone to go with me =) I don't know what it is about Theme Parks, but I am obsessed. I could seriously spend hours there. Michael had a hay day playing all of the carnival games. As you can see by the pictures he got a little carried away with the fishing game. He played it about 5 games because kept on missing just one and he had to get the BIGGEST shark. . .

Friday morning Michael, Holli, Sammy and I drove the hour and a half to Ottumwa, Iowa- where both his mom and dad are from- and a lot of his family is still there. Before we let anyone know that we had arrived, we, of course, had to stop at a little hamburger joint called "The Canteen". This place has been around for years and years. Michael, Holli and their mom are absolutely in love with this place, I like it a lot, but not even close to the love that they have for it =). After we enjoyed a delicious Canteen. We headed over to his grandma's then to his Aunt and Uncle's to see a lot more family and to enjoy the BBQ.

That night we went back over to Uncle Hugh's and Aunt Maureen's for a delicious BBQ, and some fun games of "throwing the washers in a box" (I can't remember what it is really called, I just know that it is a lot like horse shoes =)). At the end of the night we enjoyed a beautiful display of fireworks, from Michael, Jesse and their cousin (Michael was so hard core that he even burned a hole in his shirt, and he is now "unable to grow any nipple hair" Lol). We also had a wonderful view of most of Des Moines, so we could see about 3 different firework shows all over.

All in all we had a wonderful time, but we are so happy to be home and sleeping in our own bed =)
