Happy Halloween!

Once again I am way behind on blogging.  So finally here is our Halloween pictures.  We had a full day packed with non-stop fun.  We started out by going to playgroup that morning and playing at the park with lots of good friends.  It was such a warm day that it didn't seem possible that it could be October 31st.  Anyway, then we headed over to Chad's work to trick-or-treat there. Carson loved it this year and was thrilled to be getting so much candy.  Carson now thinks that every time we go to Chad's work that we are going to trick-or-treat.  It's too funny!  After getting loads of candy, we drove up to Kaysville to see my parents.  We hurried to eat some soup and then went trick-or-treating in their neighborhood.  Carson was exhausted after a couple blocks and I had to carry him all the way back.  He even was asking to go to sleep.-Which never happens.  I think we were all completely worn out.

Reading his favorite Halloween book with Papa that he memorized.

The candy snatcher was happy to get her chocolate through the wrapper.

I love Brooklyn's lady bug costume from behind.  Too cute!

Attempting to take a decent picture is harder than you think.
 My little bug

I love Carson's face in this one.
Still no one is looking at the camera....
It's nearly impossible to get them both to look at the same time

Actually holding hands, but of course, not looking at the camera.  These too crack me up!  Love them!

October Blur

Is it just me, or has this month completely flown by!  We started October out with our annual General Conference breakfast.  I failed to take any pictures, but we had a great turn out.  We had a houseful of good friends including, the Holgates, the Wards, the Nilssons, and the Holbrooks.  It was so fun to have our big breakfast with lots of yummy food.  Chad made some yummy buttermilk pancakes, and then people brought muffins, sausage, fruit, and juice.  It was delicious!  I am still kicking myself for forgetting to take any pictures!
Anyway, it seems to have been an extra busy month around here.  The kids are growing and learning so many new things.  So here is a random update of the month so far.

Carson is really into tractors and insists we see them whenever we go for a run or a walk around the neighborhood.  Here he is playing with his tractors picking up cheerios.  It's so hard to get him to look at me and smile at the same time.  Rarely happens!

Brooklyn just adores her daddy!  She randomly came up and started snuggling with him the other day.  So sweet!

Again, smiling, but not looking at me.

Brooklyn's favorite spot is sitting on the bottom step.  Whenever Carson is in time out there she comes and sits by him and brings him toys.  She just loves him.

Carson got a bug bit on his leg and we were inspecting it.  Luckily, it went away in a couple days.
We have a climber on our hands!  She is climbing onto chairs, step stools, and everything else.  She has no fear!
Just hanging out on top of the ladder.  No big deal.
We are starting to potty train.  Carson picked out Cars underwear and was so happy about it.  Whenever he goes potty he gets to watch a garbage truck video on youtube.  He loves garbage trucks and thinks the videos are the greatest reward.  It is so cute to watch him smile and make truck noises whenever he watches one.
Somebody got a hold of the wipes container and had a ball playing with them!
Pretty sure she thought this was like a magic bag or something.  Too cute not to take a few pics!

Carson checking out his new garbage truck that he gets when he is potty trained.  He's in shock in this picture.  He cannot wait to get his hands on it!
However, the box it came in was almost just as fun!

I pulled the kids around in the box until I was too tired to do it anymore, then we colored pictures on the box, and then they decided to dump a whole basket of toys in there and just sit and play.  I love how this box has provided hours of entertainment!

Carson can't wait to go trick-or-treating this year.   He has been carrying around their candy buckets for several weeks putting everything from toys to cotton balls in them.

Disneyland Frieniversary

A couple of weeks ago my best friend and took a little weekend trip to one of our favorite places, Disneyland!  Melissa and I have been friends for 15 years now.  We have been through so much together...the good, the bad, and the ugly.-Through it all this girl has been my best friend and always been there for me.  She is the most thoughtful person I know and has the biggest heart.  I could go on and on about her, because she really is so amazing.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful friend in my life!

We decided that being friends for 15 years called for a celebration and thus came about the idea of going to Disneyland.-Best idea ever!

First off, I owe Chad big time for making this whole trip possible and for being husband of the year by staying home from work to watch the kids so that I could play for the weekend!  Thank you Chadley!  You're the best!

Ok, now back to the trip.  Flying to California I discovered that I get super motion sick when I fly.  Which seems absolutely ridiculous to me because before I had kids I never did.  So weird and so not fun!  This made both flights seem incredibly long and tortuous even though it was only an hour and a half flight.  Pretty pathetic.  Needless so say I was very happy when I landed at the Long Beach Airport.  Since we both were flying from different states we ended up flying into different airports.  Melissa rented a car and picked me up.  We could hardly contain our excitement that this trip was actually happening.  We drove to our hotel and then walked a few blocks to Subway for dinner.  We stayed up late chatting and catching up, which was really one of my favorite parts of the whole trip.

The next morning we woke up and after eating our continental breakfast we walked down the road to the Disneyland park entrance.  The funniest part of the day was that on our very first ride, on Soarin' over California, the ride stopped about one minute into it and we had leave.  We then tried to go on the new Toy Story ride later and after waiting in line about 10 or 15 minutes they closed that ride too!  Talk about bad luck!  My favorite part of our first day was getting to see the World of Color show in California Adventure.  Seriously it's amazing!  Leave it to Disney to do something incredible like that.  Loved it!

Day two we got to check out Cars Land and ride the racers ride.  Such a fun and cute ride!  We were able to go on tons of rides and topped it off with the Disneyland fireworks.

This was my first time being away from my kids for more than one night and so I missed them like crazy.  I kept seeing things that Carson or Brooklyn would love and thinking how much they would love it.  I'll admit I got teary eyed several times at the park just seeing other kids the same age as mine.  I can't wait to take a trip with Chad and the kids as a family!

The whole trip was seriously such a blast!  We played hard and tried to soak in every Disney moment we could.  It really couldn't have been any better!

These pictures are a bit out of order, but be prepared for picture overload.

World of Color show.

End of day one playing in the gigantic Disney Store in Downtown Disney.

We finally were able to go to Cars Land and ride on the Racers ride.  It was the cutest ride ever!  The wait time varied anywhere from 60 to 180 minutes!  Crazy!  Luckily we went there very first thing in the morning and rode as single riders and only waited 10 minutes!  Totally worth it!
Loved all the Cars characters!

Us getting our picture taken with Red.
Radiator Springs behind us.  It really made you feel like you were in the movie.  Too cute!

California Adventure pier.
Melissa and I made a deal that if she went on the Tower of Terror with me, I would go on Star Tours with her. (Yes, I'm a baby and get motion sick on Star Tours...it's ridiculous!)
Melissa decided that the Tower of Terror wasn't so bad afterall :)

Riding the Screamer.  Also one of my favorite rides.
Main Street of Disneyland was decorated so cute for Halloween!  Tons, and tons of pumpkins!

Playing in Toon Town for a few minutes.  I'm sure it's much funner with kids.
Disclaimer: We asked one of the Disney employees to take our picture in front of the castle and he was so funny.  He wanted us to get the best picture.  He several times told people to move because they were in our picture and made us do several CHEESY poses.-Hence the reason for all the cheesy poses in front of the castle.  :)

This picture above is such a cheesy pose and reminds me of high school dances! haha
Driving our car on the Autopia ride.

So sad this picture is blury, but it is of Pluto holding hands with Melissa.  We had just come out of the bathroom and all of the sudden someone came up behind us and scared us.-It was Pluto!

When Lightning MQueen rolls through Radiator Springs he's like a celebrity.

We made friends with these two ladies, who are also best friends, on the Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Small World

Melissa and I had been wondering how they know how long the wait times are.  Soon after we found out how they do it I was chosen to hold the wait time ticket thing.  I felt so cool!

Radiator Springs all lit up at night.

This purse literally died on this trip.  I brought it just to take to Disneyland cause I didn't want to take one of my bigger purses and I knew it was older so if something happened to it I wouldn't really care.  It was starting to crack a bit when I took it, but over the course of two days at Disneyland it fell apart and earned it's nickname of ratty tatty.  This probably happened because it got wet on a several rides, was constantly being smashed into some spot under the seat of a ride or things like that.  But it served its purpose and at the end of the trip I threw it away.  Made for lots of laughs though!

Thanks to Melissa for going on this trip with me and to Chad for making this trip possible!
