June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring the Wonderful Friend stamp set- a great set for creating some wonderful masculine cards (and lets face it - most men appreciate the handmade touch as much as the ladies).

To create my card I used the stamp of the month and one of our clear card bases (LOVE THESE!!) The pattern I used was based on one from out Wishes book. I designed it to so that the outside hid the inside of the card- I intend this to be the card for my Dad on Father's Day.

I hope you enjoyed the card! Now hop on over to Kami's site for more inspiration!!

Up in the Air Layout!

I created this layout over the weekend at our team Stamp Camp- this year we stayed over night at the Holiday Inn and spent two wonderful days cropping our hearts out and raising money for Operation Smile!! It was a blast!
I was very glad to get this layout finished- I have had the pictures for a year now but was not feeling inspired to create a layout on an airshow. Well, with the Cloud paper from Splendor and the nice Outdoor Demin tree paper for Backcountry AND the vital stamp set- Over the Rainbow (which I borrowed but loved so much I will have to buy it now) I was able to complete it and be PLEASED!!
After reading Jeanette's blog on colours and trying to pick two patterned papers from different kits and mixing in a colour I realized I had also done just that! I took Splendor and mixed it with Backcountry and added Cranberry for a splash of colour (the colour is not in either paper pack!).
Here is a close up of part of my title and my little air balloon that I paper pieced to get the two colour look!
This layout also fits the challenge on Practical Scrappers this week for patterned paper!

Travel Games using CTMH Board Book

I have been working on this project all week and was delighted to finally finish it!! We need it for when we travel to Washington in July for CTMH Convention- this is the first time that we are going as a family and I am really looking forward to it. My only concern was making sure that our 6 year old had enough to keep him busy in the car. Well, when I first saw our new Board Book I immediately knew what it would become- a fantastic book full of travel games!!
A simple game or road trip bingo- I really wanted to be able to stamp all of the cute images he had to find but I realized something- I do not have enough stamps (seriously- if you saw my stash on my video this is not the case but it was a problem!). I did not have enough small images of regular things that he may see along the road- I think this will lead me to a great idea for a CTMH stamp set! Here I used Zippedee paper and an old stamp set called Road Trip.

I found this game on the internet and made it super cute with our Slendor paper and sheep from Love you Forever. I love looking at the page and cannot wait to play the game!

Scavenger Hunt is a great game- I did not want to make it too hard and I wanted to make sure he would know what to look for! More Zippedee paper adorns this page.

Not a game but a fun thing to look at - a map of our travels from Ontario to Washington DC! Passages paper, Good Times stamp set, and Love Bug stamp set.

Lastly some 'postcards' and 'fun tickets' for Austin to write some of his memories and thoughts on!

I sure hope he likes this book!

Well I have a thousand and one ideas for this cute recipe box that CTMH just released - for my first project I decided to use it for a card box and make it into a workshop! Watch for more of the card designs in the next few days!

Zippedee and Bowling

When I showed the Zippedee paper to some customers in the Catalogue the other day they were not impressed... I was a little shocked but they said that they had never been to Disney and were unlikely to go. Oh- I said- but his paper is sooooo much more!!
Here is one of my favourite layouts using this new paper- even though it would go just fine with Disney photos you really can do so much more! Over the March Break- my family went bowling at the local bowling alley. Ours is VERY old- not even computerized and the colours and vintage feel to the Zippedee paper was perfect for these photos!!

To finish my layout I used stamps from the Gear Up stamp set (even poking holes in the circle so that it looked like a bowling ball!) and some accessories from my Tulip mini-medleys. I love the completed look and most of all so did my customers!!

Some of the layouts I created over the weekend!

Happily I set off this weekend for my Spring Weekend Retreat. I run this twice a year with my friend Audrey and I really look forward to seeing people, sharing new techniques and products and finding some time to get some of my projects done!! (Not to mention the lovely massage and mani/pedis that we get!)
I promised to share my completed stuff- since I am WAY behind in my personal scrapbooking I kept some of my layouts very simple. I still love how they turned out! I also made sure to utilize some of my extra 'stash' of product- this required me to use up stuff that usually I don't use (like level one pages) but I do not mind how things resulted! Hope you enjoy!
