    1.5 Games Never Felt Better

    On this day last year the Red Sox were in second place and trailed the Yankees by only 11 games. While a 1.5 game lead may be the smallest lead this season since May blah blah blah, it is the largest lead we have had this late in the season since J Edgar Hoover was in office. If the Sox bull pen doesn't come around our post season will be as short lived as Britney Spears sobriety.

    Last week I asked members of The Boston Blogger Nation to stand up and vote for a friend of mine to be elected President of Red Sox Nation. You, the army of The Boston Blogger Nation should be very proud of yourself as my request was granted and your voice was heard. Doris Kearns Goodwin advanced to the "second round" of voting and it was all thanks to you. Okay maybe not all thanks but mostly thanks to you. Okay maybe in part thanks to you, but you did it! One battle victory does not win the war my friends. We must march on and push Doris Kearns Goodwin all the way into the diamond office of the Red House. How can we do this you ask?     VOTE OR DIE!
    There comes a time when the general public looks to the pillars of their community for guidance. The Globe and the Herald have endorsed candidates for decades and now it is time for The Boston Blogger to follow in this time honored tradition. After much council and deliberations The Boston Blogger announces today that we will endorse Doris Kearns Goodwin for President of Red Sox Nation. As it turns out this champion of democracy is actually in favor of a monarchy over Red Sox Nation and I concur.

    I would designate David Ortiz as King of the Nation - hoping that when the team is away he magically appears, with crown and robe, at the end of each game before the legions of Sox faithful now filling the stands in every park."-- Doris Kearns Goodwin
