Too Modest??

Is it possible to be too modest? I think these two examples prove that there is such a thing as being "too modest." Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type to flaunt, I enjoy being covered, but these are a bit overboard.

I ran across these so-called swimsuits online while looking for modest swimwear. Unfortunately there's not a lot out there for us long torsoed types so I'm always looking for something that covers. Trust me, no one needs to see my mommy pooch.

We're Famous!!

Just kidding! I just wanted to get your attention. The dancers are Chad's cousin's son Brandon and his dance partner Britney. They performed on Dancing With The Stars last night. The judges loved them and they're moving on to the next round. We're so proud of them!

Our Feathered Friends

Ever since Friday Mac and Sally (that's what Ethan named them) have been visiting us on a daily basis. They enjoy taking a little bath in our yucky little fountain thing. Its so small it hardly seems enjoyable, but nonetheless they like using it. They don't stay all day but they come in intervals throughout the day, mainly to take a rest. Its fun to come home and see if they've arrived yet. I hope they continue to come visit us and I'm half expecting and hoping to see some little ducklings in the near future.

To Courtney On Her 37th Birthday

Just A Few Things I Love About Courtney:

She loves to laugh and her laugh is infectious.
She appreciates beauty in nature and always notices it - especially Tulips
I love that she loves Ethan, and all her nieces and nephews for that matter.
She's very generous and giving.
She loves candy. She's not just your everyday chocolate lover, she loves the non-chocolatey stuff like, candy corns and such.
She's very welcoming and always insists that people stay at her house. She always makes everyone feel welcome.
She always thinks ahead of the best way to get to and from somewhere - She must get there the quickest way possible.
She's a total bargain shopper.
She graciously accepted her year supply of cooking oils on her birthday (bless dad's heart).
She's a very loving mommy.
She's one of my bestfriends.
Most of all she's my big sis and I love her!!

Chin Puppets

The other day Ethan and I made chin puppets which was great fun and gave us lots of laughs.

Now I periodically find him looking at me like this. Then I see him start to smile so I know he's caught the vision of my potential chin puppet.
P.S. Unfortunately I couldn't talk him out of this miss match of an outfit.

Tidbits

Our Little Climber

This last month Ethan took a rock climbing class and really loved it. He went to the top the first day and was able to ring the bell. We were quite proud of him.

American Idol Predictions

Some of us locals are making our predictions of who will win American Idol and who will be going off each week. #1 is who I think will win it, so the bottom one is who I thought would get kicked off this week. As you'll see I'm 0 for 1 so far. Keep in mind my list is not who I would necessarily choose, its who I think America will choose. The local winner will either win a free dinner or ice cream. Ethan & Gavin Quotes Worth Repeating:

The best is when Gavin tells me, "You're my best mom!" And when he comes out from his nap and says, "Mom, I still love you." (I love the "still" part - I'm just glad his feelings didn't change during his nap).

This morning Gavin saw the medicine cups on the counter and said he needed medicine. Since he's not sick, I said, "You don't need medicine, you're not sick." He goes all whiny, "but I am sick! I'm sick of cereal." (January 6, 2015)

Today I shared half of my cookie with Gavin, he very politely replied when I handed it to him, "Thanks mom! Good job sharing!" (Sept 20, 2014)

This was told to me by my neighbor while Gavin was at her house playing with her daughter, Emma.

I was talking to Ethan about my on t.v. interview the next day. He was a little nervous I'd embarass him and goes, "Mom, I really don't want you to make a fool of this family!" (July 11,2013)

On Friday we took Ethan and 5 of his friends somewhere for his birthday. We borrowed my brother's car since its big and it could fit all of us. When we all got in the car the boys were saying how the owner of the car must be rich because the car was so big. They were informed that the car belonged to Ethan's uncle. They were still in awe of how rich he must be when Ethan exclaimed, "He's a redhead, of course he's rich!" Hmm...if only I were a redhead. (January 14, 2011)

Today during testimony meeting Ethan says to Chad,

Tonight as Ethan and I were sipping out hot cocoa, I asked him if it ever made him sad that he didn't have any brothers or sisters. He replied, "No, I have a good life."

While driving in the car I was telling Ethan how he was going to play with his good friend Hayden the next day. Ethan hesitates, "Well. . .I was going to do some research tomorrow." "Oh really, well what are you going to research?" "Oh, I was going to do some research on my mission." (3/13/08)

One Sunday during the Sacrament Ethan whispers to me:

Me: Well that makes me sad that you would say that. Why do you want a new mom?"
Ethan: Because you're so old.

As Ethan was looking at Courtney's parakeet and the bird was looking back at him with just one of his eyes, cause that's just how birds look, Ethan demanded, "Look at me with both eyes bird!"

Today while driving in the snow Ethan asked me if snow is white. I told him that it is and he said, "Oh good because I was worried that I be blind color (aka color blind)."
