A Gatsby Murder Mystery!

I have the most amazing friends.  For reals.  I really do.  We decided to have a Gatsby party for Halloween and it was amazing.

It just so happened that I was getting my hair trimmed that day, so my stylist did my hair for the party too.

It was so cute!  Ashlee and April out did themselves on all the decorations.

We even had a sparkly backdrop for pictures.

I feel so lucky to have met these ladies.  I couldn't ask for better friends.
Me, Ashlee, April, Cassie and Desira.

And I love that all our husbands are good friends too.  Look at those handsome guys!

Here we are.  Bebop B'Doo and Boo Boo B'Doo.

Turned out Desira's character was the killer.

I played a jealous lounge singer with a temper.  It was hilarious.

Happy Halloween!

This year Halloween was so fun!  My Sawyer B wanted to be a ninja turtle this year and was freakin adorable.  I got to help out at his preschool party, it was super fun.

It was also my turn to host playgroup on halloween, so we had a little costume parade.

Then some amazing moms put together a mummy wrap station and a cookie decorating station.

And another mom brought supplies for the kids to make these cute little spiders.

When it was trick or treating time, we had a ninja turtle, skeleton bee, and 2 soldiers.

We trick or treated in our new neighborhood this year.  It was awesome.  The houses are spaced further apart, so the kids got tired out faster walking to the houses and we didn't get a ton of candy.  AND the kids got good candy!  No icky, double bubble gum or anything.  Everyone was in bed by 8:30.  Perfect!

Fall in Snowbasin

During conference weekend, we decided to take a drive up to Snowbasin and see all the changing fall leaves.

It was beautiful.  The pictures don't do it justice.

The kids kept asking where we were going.  Over and over.  The constant need to be entertained is aggravating to me.  Can't we all just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride?  It was stunning.

We stopped and got out a few times to do some investigating and see the leaves up close.

I love the fall.  There's just something satisfying about a cool crisp fall day, where you need a jacket and head home to a big bowl of soup.  It just feels good.  Look at the smiles on my boys!  We all finally started to enjoy the beauty around us and enjoy the view!!

Pack Farms!

This year we decided to head down to Farmington to get pumpkins.  I read about this farm called Pack Farm and thought it would be fun.  So us and our good friends the Herrick's headed down one evening.

They had lots of fun games for the kids.  They raced rubber ducks.
And had these giant drainage pipes set up on a track that you could walk across.  It was hilarious.  I ended up on my butt or face every time I tried it.  Daniel and I played tetherball too.  That was a blast from the past.

They had all these really cute photo places too.  We had so much fun!!

I told the kids this year they could only pick a pumpkin they could carry.  If they had to run for fear of dropping it, they couldn't get it.  So Parker did his very best to carry the biggest pumpkin he could find.

How cute are Rebekah and Charlotte?  Rebekah has become one of my dearest friends.  Sometimes you meet someone and you just know they're kindred spirits.  That's how it was when I met her.  I just knew we'd be friends.

When all pumpkins were loaded up, we went home and had some broccoli cheese soup and spent time laughing.  A perfect evening!

Fly Guy

The other day, Sawyer came out of preschool with the biggest smile and this adorable hat on.
Apparently, they had been reading Fly Guy and made their own eyes and antenna.  It was so freakin adorable, I couldn't help taking some pictures.

He wore that hat all day.  It was so cute!  He told me all about the story and talk me about the other Fly Guy things they had made.

Cutest little Fly Guy I've ever seen!!

Happy Birthday Mr.C!

My Mr. C is growing up.  I can't believe he is 7 already.  This year, we decided to celebrate at his favorite restaurant, Red Robin.

If this kid could eat at Red Robin everyday, it would be his dream come true.  He was super excited to get the free sundae that comes with a birthday at the restaurant.

This year Colson was excited to get a toy light saber a dinosaur lego set, and . . .

muck boots for wearing in the pasture.

We had a family birthday this year, so the next day I made his favorite dinner, homemade mac and cheese with roasted broccoli.  Then we had a yummy ice cream cake.

Happy Birthday Colson!!

School!!

Hallelujah!!  School has arrived!!  Since the kiddos are enrolled in the Spanish Immersion program, they are able to stay at their elementary school and continue in the program.

Colson is going into 1st grade with Senora Mora and Mrs. Olsen.  We are big fans of them, so I'm really happy.  As expected, Colson still wants to be a dinosaur scientist.

Sawyer is starting his last year of preschool.  *sniff* He gets to return to Mrs. Handy and Miss Marilou for preschool.  This year he wants to be a police officer.

Parker starts 3rd grade this year with his same teachers as last year.  Senora Woods and Mrs. Clark taught a 2nd/3rd grade split last year, but are now strictly 3rd grade teachers.  He's happy to be in their class again.

Ava is starting 5th grade.  I can't believe it.  She is in Senor Tapia and Mrs. Warner's class this year.  I can't believe she's old enough to be in 5th grade.

My kids are growing up.  Seems like every year, it goes faster and faster.
