Zoo day
On Monday, Carl took off work, so we went to Hogle Zoo. I had been wanting to take the kids for a while, and it was overcast and not as hot. I think I only got a few pictures because my battery died. ARRGGH! But we loved to see the animals, our favorites are the giraffes, the white alligator, elephants, and the tiger. We saw a bird show where some of the birds swooped over our heads. They were so close that one even brushed Carl's head. I was worried how Colton was going to react, because he once threw a huge fit when a butterfly crossed his path- what was he going to do when a huge hawk flies right over his head? But he loved it!

This alligator is one of the only 10 in the world. They were all born from the same nest. They're not albino because they have blue eyes instead of red, but it's some kind of genetic thing. They say if you look into his blue eyes, it will give you good luck and fortune. I spent a goood looong time looking!
The Hogle Zoo is a great zoo. I remember going there as a kid. Even now, I still love to go to the zoo! We had a great time!

Oh say, can you see
We had a fun 4th of July. I actually was able to get it off from work. Carl won this pack of fireworks from work. Awesome! We had a BBQ with some friends and lit the fireworks in our own "cul-de-sac of fire!!" (those not in the know- making fun ouf our local "stadium of fire"- gag.)
The boys all lined up, ready for the show!

Ethan, my little sensitive, loves the fireworks, but HATES the noise.
Ohhhhh, ahhhhh.
I'll tell you were the best fireworks are. Next year, we're going to Idaho. Idaho Falls seriously has the best fireworks. People (my parents) go about 2 1/2 hours early to get good seats. It's paid by a local company and put to music on the local radio station. From the first boom, you think it's already the finale! Nothing compares! Our little pack of fireworks just didn't cut it. I had more fun taking pictures of the kids! Happy 4th!

Crazy Colton
Lazy dayz of summer
Oh what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green? So what have you been doing? The boys have been involved in t-ball, local library summer reading program, swimming, playing, and having fun.

Man, if you can't get more relaxed than this... The boys love this pool. It takes forever to fill, but they spend hours in it. Best $30 I ever spent. Notice the buzzed heads. An Avery summer tradition. It is so great to have boys!
The boys love Webkinz! (you can buy a little stuffed animal that has a code to an online home with games and stuff.)
I chopped it off!
