New Challenge Blog

This may not be a new challenge blog... but I just found it. It's named The Play Date Cafe. It's a different kind of blog. Rather than a sketch to inspire you they use color ads or photos to get your mojo going. This week is a really nice color combo. I was inspired immediately to make this layout of my Niece and Great Nephew.

Here is the ad they posted as the color challenge:
Here is my take on the challenge. I really like the color combo. The hearts and titles are cut on SCAL, of course.

Have a great day.

Marcy

Unscripted Sketches Saturday

Wow, the week sure went fast. It's Saturday already!! You know that means -- there is a new sketch up at Unscripted Sketches It is a really wonderful, versatile sketch that can be used for almost anything. Go on over and check out the super creations the DT members made this week...you are sure to be inspired.
Here is the sketch:
Here is my version. Again, I used one of my new Doodle Factory stamps...I love them! I colored them in with my Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to her emblem, cut her out and popped her onto the DF city background stamp. The sentiment is computer generated.

Have a great day.

Marcy

Happy Thursday

Hi All,

I love Thursdays...especially when I don't have a thousand errands on my day off. Today I only have 4 errands and the rest of the day is for me to play with my little pretties (paper, stamps, photos, copics, LOL).
I made this card for the challenge over at Mojo Mondays. It's a really nice sketch and I can see using it over and over again.

The image is another of my free dingbats...you know how I love the freebies!! I colored it with my copics and used the Cuttlebug for the embossed background. The scalloped rectangle was cut with SCAL.

I used Marvy's Puffy Velvet pen for my Teddy's hat. It looks really neat in person.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Monday

Hi All,

I hope you had a great weekend. It's Monday, so that means there is a new challenge up at The Cuttlebug Spot...BUT WAIT...Nilda is down with the flu. Not the bad one, but the flu nonetheless. So, she didn't post the challenge today. Fell better quick, Nilda!

The challenge was to create anything with a turkey. I got this image from Pink Cat Studio I love this little guy!!

I colored him with copics, cut him out and popped him onto the embossed cardstock (Bloom Dots). I also added three buttons tied with raffia.

Have a great day.

Hugs,

Marcy

Happy Saturday

Hi All,

This has to be a quick post today, I have to go to work and make sure all the demos scheduled at the store are organized and running smoothly. Today at AC Moore we have yarn, Wilton Gingerbread House, candy making, kids coloring and Cookie Exchange demos all running simultaneously.

Today is Saturday and another great sketch is posted over at Unscripted Sketches.

Here it is:

And here's mine...This is my Great Nephew Shane, again. Isn't he just beautiful?? The monkey in the title is a stamp from my new fave, Doodle Factory and colored with copics. The title is cut from SCAL. The paper is from DCWV.

Off to work. Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Bad Weather Day

Hi All,

I am off from work on Thursdays. It's the day I do a lot of my errands, but today was such a miserable day, I didn't even go out. It's raining and the chill is the kind that goes right down into your bones. So, I played instead.

I made this card for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday I used one of my new stamp sets from Doodle Factory (I love 'em) and colored the squirrel with copics. I cut the scallop with SCAL and the circle using Plantin. I always cut circles with the Cricut...no matter what, I cannot get a good smooth cut with scissors and since I can get virtually any size I need cut, I always use my Cricut.

I hope you all have a great day.

Hugs,

Marcy

Practice, Practice, Practice!

Hi All,

That's what I am doing...practicing with my copics. I made this card using one of the new stamp sets I bought on Saturday. I think it turned out pretty well. I try to play with the markers a little bit each day. It's a bit (no, a lot) intimidating, but I keep trying.

Even though I am just a beginner, I am going to link my card to a "red hair" challenge over at Copic Creations. I'm nervous do it since everyone there seem to be pros, but gotta get my feet wet!

Have a great night.

Hugs,
Marcy

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

It's Monday, so it's time for another great challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week, Nilda asked us to create anything with fruit on it. Easy enough!
Go on over and check out the other DT gals...some really beautiful creations!
I can't remember who made this stamp because I took all the rubber off the wood last year and didn't write down all the manufactrer's names, but I think it was Inkadinkado. I used my copics to color the image and my Nesties in the Cuttlebug to cut the scalloped ovals.

Here are two more of the cards we made in the Wild Card Cricut Class I taught at the store (AC Moore) last week. "The girls" really enjoyed and I love having them in my classroom.

This one is the Owl Card on page 72.

This one is the House card on page 75. If you want to mail this one, I suggest you cut the envelope on blackout feature, otherwise I think it will be a problem going through those machines at USPS.

Stamp Show Goodies

OMG, I had such a good time at the stamp show. It was small, about 20 vendors, but it took a whole day to go through it! HEE HEE I love to watch all the demos and search through the unmounted rubber. I spent a small fortune there. I went with a load of cash and spent it all by the second booth!!
I love the stamps from Doodle Factory and knew I was gonna spend the bulk there. They have so many adorable stamps that I think are perfect for coloring with my copics (I keep practicing). It was so hard to choose, I must have been in that booth for an hour! But these are the ones I chose. You can find them here on line.
I'm gonna go play with them now. Of course, it takes hours to cut them apart, but I know if I don't so it soon...I won't do it at all.
Have a great night,
Hugs,
Marcy

Long Island Stamp Show

Hi All,

Short and sweet today cause I am headed off to the Long Island Stamp Show. It comes every year on this Saturday and I loooooove it. It's my chance to see all the goodies up close, see new techniques and spend lots of $ on stuff I love...DH gave me money for my upcoming birthday just to spend here. I'll report on anything I might see that is new and exciting.

It's Saturday, so it's another new sketch over at Unscripted Sketches. Go on over and check them out and if you have the time create something and link!!!

Here is the sketch
Here is mine:
The titles were cut with SCAL and the duck on Cricut with NA. This adorable guy is my 10 month old great nephew, Ethan...isn't he delicious??

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,

Marcy
