Laugh Line

Matt and I were talking about going to Noodles and Company a few days ago.  Elliott protested, because he doesn't like noodles.  Theresa said, "Don't worry, Elliott.  You can have the company!"

First day of kindergarten!

The first day of kindergarten was a success.  No tears except for mine.
Our kids were FIRST to go through the breakfast line with their teacher.

Before the van ride to school this morning (no bus).

Theresa was the most excited.

Lillian is excited about the art classroom they visited today.  She said she tried to fall asleep during rest time, but kids kept getting up to go to the bathroom and their feet made too much noise.

Waiting in the gym with their name tags on for the big day to start.

Summer 2015

Swimming lessons in June.

We eat outdoors while we can in Minnesota!

Our first trip to the strawberry patch with some friends.

Our first visit to Aunt Shanna's in Illinois.

First fireworks outing.

We got to go to a couple weddings this summer.  The bride in this one is a twin.

We had fun fishing and swimming at a cabin in Wisconsin.
The butterfly garden with our friend Katie.

The kids helped harvest 51.5 lbs. of onions from the giving garden.  They also helped with other garden tasks throughout the summer.
We are sad to see summer coming to an end, but we are very excited for the changes ahead.  The kids starting school will the biggest change in our family since the kids were born.

Keeping the tooth fairy busy

Matt noticed a gap in Elliott's smile this morning. Elliott had not even realized he was missing a tooth. The tooth was found in his bed. He is very excited to put it under his pillow tonight for the tooth fairy.

First Lost Tooth

Lillian came out of her room on Saturday morning with her loose tooth in her hand instead of her mouth. Instead of racing down the hall and yelling out an announcement, she waited until after I said good morning to uncurl her fingers and show me the tiny little tooth in her hand. (I am betting it won't go this way when Theresa loses a tooth.) This morning she was excited for someone to read her the note the tooth fairy left with her money. The tooth fairy encouraged her to keep brushing and flossing. Elliott is extremely jealous of the money; he already has his sights set on a lego set he wants to buy with his tooth fairy money. I had to break it to him that the tooth fairy won't provide enough funds for the $80 set he wants. Rough financial lesson for a little guy. He has one slightly loose tooth, and Theresa is pouting about the whole situation; she doesn't have any teeth that are even a little bit loose.

Skating

For the kids' birthday, we signed them up for ice skating lessons.  Then Matt and I decided we wanted lessons too, so I signed our whole family up for Saturday morning lessons.  We have three more to go, and I'm proud to say that none of us need to hang on to the wall anymore. (Elliott still likes to hang on the wall, but he doesn't need to.)  Last weekend Matt took all the kids to the park by our house and let them try outdoor skating.  We will make much more use of the rink next winter for sure!
