Matt had to go out to NYC for 2 straight weeks. I was lucky and got to join him for 5 days. NYC is somewhere I have always wanted to go. I had the best time hanging out with my husband. While he was at work I walked all over the city. On Wednesday we went and saw the lighting of the Rockefeller Tree, Times square, Macey's and the cool Christmas windows, Hershey world, and went to the top of the Empire State building where we could see the Hudson river and people ice skating. It was Amazing and yes we kissed on top of the Empire state building. :)
On Thursday I went to the NYC library which is the biggest thing you've ever seen! I went into the Donald Trump Towers and looked for him hahahaha, FAO Schwartz which literally was every kids dream, Serendipity where I had my first frozen salted carmel hot chocolate (it was Amazing) the wait was over 45min but the owner said because it was just me "he had room to fit me it." It was so nice, I recognized him from tv. I went to Dylans candy Bar and got German chocolate. That night Matt and I went to Anthony Bordains restraunt called Les Halles and had the yummiest steak ever and Banans Flambe. Then we went and watched Catching fire.
Friday I had hoped to get up and go watch the Today show but it was raining and so cold, and to be honest I was exhausted. So instead I took the longest shower, I never get to do that at home. :) I went out and spent a few hours at Books of Wonder and another book store and then Matt and I went out to New Jersey and found Carlos Bakery. My kids and I have watched Cake Boss for years! We love it! Anyway because it was raining we only had to wait about 30min to get in the bakery. I asked where "The family" was and they said Buddy was in Vegas starting a new restaurant, however, his sister Maddalena was in the back office. I was determined to get her out! Someone said it was their birthday so I got the whole bakery to sing happy birthday to this girl and a few minutes later she came out! I of course got a photo with her!! We split a cookie (Matt said mine are way better), a brownie, a cupcake, lobster tail and a cannoli. Out of everything we tried we loved the lobster tail and the cannolis the most!
Saturday we took an hour and a half water taxi and we got to see the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. It was so Awesome! We also went and saw the 9/11 Memorial. That night we watched Wolverine. When I flew there I was on 1rst class it was amazing. On the way back I flew in a regular seat I can definitely say the rich are lucky, 1rst class was great!! It was such a fun trip. I loved spending that time with Matt and getting to see a city I have always wanted to go to.
