Happy Halloween & Happy Monday!!

What are you doing today?   Are you one of those people who totally love Halloween and go all out in decorating?   Me...not sure much!!   It's really just another day for me now and I haven't been out to a Halloween party of event in ages.   I have very little in Halloween Decor and this year, it seemed to sneak up on us quickly at the end, that I didn't even think about having Hubby dig out the few things I do have up in the attic.   It's just not a big thing to me and really never has been.  I actually enjoyed it a lot more, when my boys were young and we would take them out trick-or-treating.   I did bag up a bunch of candy into little goodie bags for the neighborhood kids, but I have no idea how many we'll have this year.  Many of the kids are like mine, grown and have now moved out on their own.  I'll bet in another couple of years there won't be many left.  Even the few that are still around are getting older, so I'm not sure how many little ones are left to go out.

I have two new cards to share today and both were created with some new challenges in mind.  The first card is for a few different challenges and the design was based on this week's sketch over at the Stars and Stamps Blog.   This week we are working with Sketch #93, which I copied over to share with you:

My card is a happy little boy card that will be fun for a Soldier to send home to his/her son.  I started with one of my older pre-colored digis.   I tend to color often when I'm not feeling so great and then put the images away for cards at a later time.  This little cutie is from Bugaboo and was colored with Copics.  I also used scraps from my Recycle bin to create the blue checkered border and and the mats for my image. Once I had the card done, I tied on two red sparkling buttons with blue/white baker's twine!!

This card is being submitted to each of these challenges:
And my next card was actually one that I finished up yesterday, after I had done by post.   It's was a fun Winter/ Christmas themed card and was inspired by a variety of new challenges.   I started this card by picking out a snowflake embossing folder to emboss the front on my card in a snowflake theme.  Once I had the card embossed, I took some Star Dust Stickles and dabbed them all over the front of the card to add some sparkle and shin.   While that was drying, I used one of my Memory Box dies to cut my snowflake, which I then layered over a light blue flower and embellished with tiny blue pearls.   I tied on a matching button, added some blue ribbon and my card was done!!   Fun and Easy!!

This card is being submitted to these new challenges, and like those above - everyone is welcome to play:
And now I'm off to play a bit more with my Cameo and then have an early supper!  I want to have that all done before the trick-or-treaters start visiting.  I hope they all come pretty early and hope we don't end up with lots of left over candy.  It's too much temptation to have it here laying around.  Luckily, I don't really like most of what Hubby bought, which is great, because I don't want to be eating it!  :)

Wishing you all a nice night and for those of you who are celebrating -- Happy Halloween!!   Hoping every one stays safe and has FUN!

I'm back....

We had a nasty storm yesterday and it ended up being all rain here, which was much better than snow.   But, we ended up losing our power sometime last night and it just came back on about 30 minutes ago.  To me, losing power is horrible.  No morning coffee or cooking, no hot water for a nice long morning shower, no way to do laundry, or much cleaning and no way to cook or do much of anything.  It was also cloudy, so even in the day hours, it was too dark to craft -- it's been a long quiet morning and I'm thrilled to be back in the world again.

I have also been spending a lot of time creating and playing with my new Silhouette Cameo and reading lots of  forums for help and ideas.   I'm happy to know that it's already working with MTC -Make the Cut, and hoping that it will soon be compatible with SCAL- Sure Cuts a Lot, too.  I bought both programs last year and was so upset when Provo decided to make it impossible to use them with my Cricuts.  Luckily, I backed up all my SVG files onto our external hardrive and now look forward to using them again.   Now, I never need to buy another cartridge and can also learn how to create my own files!   Yippee!!

One of the other projects I worked on this week for "Cards that Care" with is a wonderful card drive that is being hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Vera Yates.   I really love taking part in these types of events and as many of you know I also make cards for Operation Write Home.   I thought I would also make some cards for this drive, as something a little different.
If you would like to create and donate some Holiday/Christmas cards to the drive, you can find all the details on Jennifer's Blog HERE!!.  The cards will be gifted to those living in Nursing Homes.  I LOVE making Christmas cards and was very happy to do my little part to help out.  I packed up a dozen cards and sent them off to Jennifer on Friday.   Here is a picture of the cards I chose to send and I hope they will put a smile on someone's face!  I know that I LOVE receiving cards in the mail, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Once I had those all set and mailed and started working on more cards for my personal stash.  I've been making my own cards for the last three years now and like the cards above, I try to make each one a bit different.  It's rare for me to make the same exact card twice.

These are two more cards that I finished yesterday and both of these were inspired by a card that Jennifer created and shared with us in the Inspiration Showcase Workshop.

I've learned now that it looks best if you heat emboss the image with White Embossing Powder, as the tree is a lot harder to see in the first image.  I also bought a new set of Spellbinder dies for these, as I loved the shape of a similar card we made in Stamp Camp.  This set is Labels Seventeen and has already turned out to be a new favorite.  With all the dies I have,  I was really surprised that I did not have this set.  I Love them!!
I'm also very excited that we only have one more week before Holiday Card Boot Camp Starts and I've already had fun meeting the new students who have already enrolled.  It's nice that many of us all took Summer Card Camp and the Inspiration Showcase workshop together.   I've also had a peek at the class supply list and was very happy to find I had a lot of the goodies we'll be using.  I also love that the stores that sponsor the classes are offering all the students a discount and you can bet I'll be using them for a few new things.   If you want to come and join, there is still time -- just go HERE to enroll.  I'm very excited that one of my crafty friends (Pat) will be joining me in class!  She was the lucky winner of my class Giveaway and I know she'll love it.

And before I sign off and head back to my desk, I wanted to share one more card and this one was inspired by a few new challenges!   It's probably going to be my very last Halloween card for this year and it's a cutie that was fun to color and create.  My image is a digi stamp by Bugaboo and if you love it, then you'll want to head over to the store today or tomorrow, as Jodie has all her Halloween images are 50% off through Halloween - October 31st!!   Woohoo!!

I am submitting my Spooky card to each of these new challenge!!   I hope you'll play along too!!

Hope you all are having a nice day and hoping that everyone here in my area has their power back and for those of you who had snow -- I hope it all melts away very soon!   It's much too early for snow and I hope this is not a sign of what winter has in store for us!!   I want SUMMER back....!!

Woohoo! It's Here!!

WOOHOO!!!  My new Silhouette Cameo arrived yesterday and so far, so good!  I have it set up and cut my first mat full of images.  I can see that I have a LOT of learn and although it is similar in some ways to my Expression, I love that I will be able to do so much more with this machine.

I joined a Silhouette Group on Yahoo too, as I'm sure I'll need lots of help in getting used to this and using it to it's full capability.  It's a very sleek machine and the first cut went well.  I did buy some new images already from the Silhouette store with my $10 freebie card and will likely buy a subscription for more files.  I also want to learn (in time), how to create my own files and/or convert other images files so that I can cut them in my machine.

Today, I'm going to be playing more with my new toy and did want to share a couple  before I get started.

My New Cameo

My Cameo with My Pink Expression

I also worked on two more Christmas cards yesterday and have those to share now too!  The first one, was one that I had made in Stamp Camp and finished up at home yesterday.   It's also very similar to one that Jennifer McGuire had on her blog a while back.  I love it and think I'll be making several of these for this year.

And this second card was inspired by a new video on the Hero Arts Blog yesterday and is a case of the card the was created by Julie Ebersole.  I totally LOVED her card and this is my version of it.  You can see Julie's on her blog HERE too!

Oh and before I forget, if anyone is interested in signing up to take the Holiday Card Boot Camp with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner -- now is the time.   The classroom is now open, the suggested supply list has been added and they are several students chatting together in the forum and sharing some of their cards in the Gallery.   The workshop starts on November 7th!!    Hope to see you all there-- It's going to be AWESOME!!

If you don't see me around or taking part in many challenges for the next couple of days, you'll know it's because I'm enjoying my new Cameo.   I'll also be spending most of my time in Holiday Card Boot Camp once it starts!   In the meantime, if you need me, feel free to email me or call!   I'll be having a wonderful time creating in my craftroom!

Catching up!! A Cricut to Sell and Cards to Share!!

My craftroom cleaning and re-organization is almost done and just in time, as my new Silhouette Cameo is being delivered tomorrow!!   I am so excited and can not wait to try it out.  In the meantime, I have my Baby Bug Cricut all packaged and ready to go to a new home.   If you have always wanted a Cricut and are interested in mine, please see my post from Sunday HERE!!

I have "found" so many cool things while organizing and it kind of feels like I had been on a little shopping spree.  My new goal is to use up a lot of what I have before I buy more.   Ya, I know, we all say that and still shop, but that's because there is always something new!!     I'm trying to keep the products that I use every day, a lot closer to my desk for easy access. It's quite a project, but once I am all done, I know it will be worth all this time and effort!

Today, I wanted to share some of the cards/projects I made a Stamp Camp along with a few more I made while I was taking some cleaning breaks.

These first few images are all from the Stamp Camp Workshop I took this past weekend at my LSS.  It was a long day and I had fun, but in the end, there are some things that are really not my style and not necessarily projects I would make.  I guess deep down, I'm very much a cardmaker and that's what I really love to create.

Here is a picture that pretty much show much desk full of all the things we made in the workshop.  It's a bit messy, but I had just unpacked it all and tried to squeeze it all into one photo.  The pictures the follow are some of my favorite projects and the ones I loved working on most.

What a Mess !!!
I deleted most of the images, as it was just so messy!!

A fun technique and nice card.  We used Distress Inks, long with
Distress Stickles to color the tree and then heat set it!!

This card was created with one of the new
Stamp/Emboss Sets by Hero Arts/Sizzix!!  Super Easy!!

This was another fun card and we used another fun technique to create
the background.  We also colored the poinsettia and leaves with Distress Inks and then
sprayed them with Perfect Pearls mist!!  Fabulous Shine!!

This little ornament was really fun and is
so pretty in person!!  I will make these again!!
It was created on a glass slide using Alcohol Inks
and then stamped again to remove ink, leaving
the snowflake image!!  Awesome!!

I really LOVE, this card, it's so easy, but with all
the layers and the glitter cardstock, it's so pretty and sparkles!

These next two cards were created while I took a cleaning break yesterday and were inspired by the current CAS Challenge over at 'The Outlawz'.   The theme is actually 'Leaves', but I kind of went with 'Trees' as I didn't really have any good leave stamp or images.

This card ended up being my favorite.  It's an old stamp from my stash.
I stamped in Versamark and then Heat Embossed it with Gold Powder.  I then
simply matted it on two more layers and added a matching bow and bling!!

This was the first card I created and it seemed like it needed more?
I used one of my Memory Box Dies and cute it twice in contrasting
colors.  I then used an Embossed folder to create the border on the olive mat and
put it all together on a dark brown card base.

I'm off now to see if I can manage to make at least ONE card today?  I felt lost if I dont' have any time to create, and I want to try my hand at the new Color Combo Challenge at The Outlawz -  This is a copy of the new color swatch and the twist this week is to add something that is "Recycled".   When I see these colors I immediately think of Halloween, so that's likely what I will work on!!

Color Q is also hosting a fun color themed challenge and I'm hoping to incorporate all the colors today and play along in their challenge too!   This is a copy of the colors for their current challenge.

Afternoon Update:   I'm back to share my latest card which has been inspired by several of the new challenges posted this week.   I started with a cute little Halloween digi image from Bugaboo and colored it with with my Copics.   To make my little Ghost sparkle, I coated him with a layer of Glamour Dust.  I then cute out the image with a Nestie die and cut a black/spider web background with another die.  I then took some scrap ribbon and threaded it through the top of the die and tied on a little bow.  I added a little moon and black bat from my stash.  I then took another scrap and cut a border with one of my new Nestie Border dies, and put it all together.  I finished it up by embossing on my sentiment with White Embossing Powder!

This Happy Halloween card was inspired and is being submitted to each of these new challenges:

I'm off again to work on another card!   It's been a really productive day and I'm very happy with all that I have accomplished!   The best part for me was making this card!

Happy Crafting and hope you have a wonderful day!!

I am Wiped Out...!!!!

...But it's in a good way and after spending most of my day yesterday at 'Stamp Camp' at my LSS!   We created a total of 12 projects and had a lot of fun!!  I LOVE it when I can get out and actually craft with others and really wish I had friends here who loved this hobby like I do.

Today, I'm in the process of working on a major purge and re-organization of my craft room.  I've bought so many new things lately and the best if yet to come.  I'm very happy to excited to have ordered a brand new Silhouette Cameo, which is now due to arrive her by mid-week!!  I can't wait to have it and I'm really happy that I'll now be able to cut images lots of new design and also have a die-cutter that I can use with SCAL and MTC. I'm sure they'll be a learning curve, but luckily my friend, Sharon, has a Silhouette and has offered to help me!  Thanks Girl!!

Here's a picture of my new CAMEO - Very sleek!!    It looks like it's pretty user-friendly and I've heard lots of good things about it, ever since they showed it at CHA!!

I'm also working on making room and this cool new die-cutter will be replacing my original Baby Bug.  If you know anyone who can use a well-loved Baby Bug along with some Mats and Paper, please let me know.  This Bug is in excellent condition, has not had a ton of of use and has been treated well.   It was less than  a year old when I upgraded to my Pink Cricut Expression and since then I have rarely used it.  I'm not looking to sell it for a lot of money!   I have listed it now on Craig's List for $75, which will also include, (3) brand new sets of Mats, (2) Brand New blades, a brand new set of Cricut Color Markers and the original manuals/cords and box.  I tested it this weekend it works perfect.   I'm also throwing in a few more sets of used mats as well as 3-4 packs of Provo 6 X12 Paper/Cardstock pads and the Dust Cover.   I am willing to accept offers and this price is for local pick-up and does not include shipping.  I can look into shipping costs if you are interested.    I really want to this to go to someone who has always wanted Cricut, but can't afford it.  I am even hope to lower offers for the right person.   NOTE:  This machine will not come with ANY cartridges, and I am using them with my Expression, plus the fact that they are ALL already link to my Gypsy.

Here are some pictures I took on Sunday, while I had it out to make sure that everything was still working perfectly.

In the meantime, if you don't see me posting much for the next day or two, you'll know it's because I'm on a cleaning frenzy and also trying to go slow and easy, so I don't end up in a Fibro Flare!!   I'm done for today and just want to sit down and relax............

Have a great Sunday and wish me luck....I'm barely halfway done and have a lot more to do.  I'm going to be purging lots of papers and supplies and will be donating anything I don't use.  If there is something you need, I may have it -- let me know!!

Friday Fun!!

Today, is another relaxing day for me -- no appointments, no errands and no major chores to do!  A day that will be filled with all kinds of fun and craft-related goodness!    My first project of the day was to pack up my craft bag as I'll be heading out bright and early tomorrow morning to Stamp Camp.   Woohoo!   Another Saturday at Absolutely Everything, which will be a lot of fun.  It will be a long day for me, but this has been a good week, so I'm very optimistic that I'll make it through the day and feel well!   In the worst case scenario, I can always pack up and take my projects home to finish, but I do think I'll be okay!  This workshop has a lunch included and lots of little breaks, which makes it work well for me.  I can get up and move around and that's perfect!!

I have some new cards to share and the first two were cards I created yesterday, but ran out of time to post.  The first one, was made for fun and was based on the same color combo challenge that I had worked on earlier this week.   I thought it would make a fun little card to use this cute little Robot, which is one the very first digi images I bought.  It's from Pink Cat Studio, and you'll find the store HERE!!

My next card is another Christmas Card and this one was inspired by Kristina Werner.  If you are looking for ideas and inspiration for your Holiday Cards, check out her blog.  She's hosting her Annual Holiday Cards 2011 and has a new card and video every day.  This card was inspired by the Day 8 Video ,  I loved the card so much that I ordered the Stamp Set from Two Peas, simply so I could try my hand at the card.  I also love the set and the best part is that I had my order in two days and many of the Christmas items are On SALE!!!!!  WOOHOO!

As you can see I changed things around a bit, to use the papers and embellishments that I had on hand.  I also embossed in White versus Clear, but that actually was a mistake, that turned out well.  I thought I had grabbed my clear embossing powder, but once I started to heat it, I quickly realized it was White.   The stamp set is used is by Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday and you can find it HERE!!   Love it!!  My papers are from my stash and the button was one I bought from Creating is Fun, a wonderful craft store I found on Etsy!!

My next card was inspired by today's new Copic Coloring Challenge hosted at The Outlawz.  The theme this week 'Asian' and I colored up this cute little digi and then created a fun card with some gorgeous Asian inspired papers I had been hoarding in my stash!!   The colors are stunning and it's even prettier in person!!

And I'm finishing up this post with one more Christmas Card and this one I finished up today.   I had colored up several digi images one day when I was not feeling so hot.  I find coloring to be a great way to relax and having the images colored, makes it fun and easy to put together some easy cards.   This card was one of those and was put together in minutes.  I simply matted my cute little pre-colored snowman digi (by Heather Ellis), and added a hint of white sparkling Glitter.  Next I picked out my red card base, this one is from a  Hero Arts Set.   I then stamped the Sentiment (Penny Black - Let it Snow), in Versamark and then heat embossed it in silver.  I then punched out some stars from the scraps and added them to finish off the card.

And that's it for now!!!  I may work on a few more cards, but I'm not sure if I will have time to post them.   I'll be off stamping all day tomorrow and will look forward to sharing some of the projects with you all on Sunday!!

Before I forget, I wanted to remind everyone that the Holiday Card Boot Camp, starts two weeks from Monday.  It's the workshop that is being hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner will be taught in their online classroom.   If you LOVE either of these fabulous designers, or simply want some wonderful inspiration, this is a class you will not want to miss.   I signed up as soon as it was announced and can't wait to get started.   For all the details, please visit the online classroom HERE!   I've taken all the classes this year and every one has been Awesome!!

Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
