This year has been an interesting and hard year for us. Throughout the year we definitely had some rough spots with health on all our parts and financial situations. We went Paleo at the beginning of the year to help improve our overall health. We each had our own reasons behind it as well. Some were more extreme than others but definitely worth it in the end!
Dan had surgery on his knee just recently and got a lot repaired in there
. Originally we thought it was going to be back surgery but they ended up finding the main cause of the pain all around. He is still recovering but definitely doing a lot better. He is currently still on the in house swat team for the Metro Jail in Salt Lake city. He hopes to further his career and possibly seeking new endeavors.
Ashlee is currently still working in the Security unit in the Metro jail as well. Now she also is a Correction Officer instructor for the Academy for radio etiquette. She came up with the program and recruited another individual from her unit to help with the teaching. She also is always looking for ways to advance her career and always moving forward.
Kimberlee definitely has had it hard this year. She had multiple health scares that ultimately turned out better than expected. She has also broken her arm twice and also had stitched in her lip. She is apparently either my daredevil or my accident prone kid. I haven't decided which one it is yet, lol! Kim also has recently turned 10 and feels like she is going on 16, lol! She definitely is excited about growing up and doing the "big kid' stuff.
Shaylee started the year out with health issues but recovered very quickly and is her bubbly self as always. She is always excited to try new things and is very artistic! She won an award in school for one of her art projects she submitted! She is always making me love notes that I like to tuck away and someday will show her again when she is older.
Makayla is the biggest clown there possibly is. She is always trying to make everyone laugh and is always ready to give out hugs if she thinks you need one, even if she doesn't know you that well. She is such a daddy's girl and absolutely loves to come visit as much as she possibly can. She also is artistic and absolutely loves to draw!
Overall this year has been good but definitely one of the roughest ones we have faced in a long time. We hope this letter finds you all well and are excited to see what endeavors next year will be bringing in!
Lots of love,
Dan, Ashlee, Kim, Shay and Makayla
