Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa visit!

We were lucky enough to have Aaron's parents and grandpa all out for Labor Day weekend. They came out on Friday and didn't leave until Tuesday so we were able to do lots of fun stuff. This was the farthest East Aaron's grandpa has ever traveled so it was a pretty big deal! We tried to see as many of the sights as we could in the few short days they were here.

On Saturday we took the metro into DC. We made sure to see the archives first and then some of the other memorials including the Lincoln Memorial. By the time we were ready to go home we were all so tired that we got an Uber and all squeezed in and took that home. After resting up some we all went out to the movies. Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to see Maleficent while Aaron, Great Grandpa, and I went to Guardians of the Galaxy. It was Great Grandpa's first 3D movie (well 3D that didn't require those silly red and blue glasses from back in the day).

I think Noah is tired.
Since they were only here a few days we decided to do some sight seeing on Sunday as well. We took them to Mt. Vernon. We went on a ferry boat tour on the Potomac River which was nice and relaxing. It's such a contrast to Great Falls which is also on the Potomac River so we had to go check that out on Monday.

The pirate costumes are from Grandma. The super cool wooden boat is from Great Grandpa. He is a woodworker and made the canoes with little tiny ores for the boys. He also brought 3 small little boxes for Sarah to keep her treasures in.
On Monday we split up. The girls all went to the mall so we could go to the American Girl Doll Store. We got Sarah her first Bitty Baby Twin and she loves it. The boys used that time to go see the Air and Space Museum.

We of course had lots of time in the evenings to chat and stay up playing games. It was so much fun having family in town. We miss them already!
