Oral Day 9 Conversation
I love Mathematics. I like to use formulas to solve difficult and complicated problems. I feel that Mathematics can also be helpful to our everyday life. Like calculating taxes and interests. I hope that I can study on physical geography. I hope to learn more about natural processes that occur on Earth. Not everybody should go to university. I feel that those students who cannot manage the workload should not enter university. Although, it is a must to have a university degree to get better jobs in a bad econom, some students will not be able to afford the cost of the university. Some students will still be able to get jobs, even though they do not have a university degree. Therefore, I feel that not all students should go to university.
I feel that young children should know more about their environment. For example, leaves are green. I would encourage these young children to read more books on science. I would also encourage them to browse through websites to find those with experiments. This will let them be nore aware of their surroundings. For example, carbon dioxide turns limewater chalky. Science can help you understand the biological life, chemicals and natural world. Hence, I feel that science is important.
I do not think that boys make better scientists than girls. I feel that male scientists give more interesting ideas during the experiments while girls give more specific details on the experiments. In the picture discussion, there was a group with one male and three female scientist. I feel that male scientists and female scientists should work together to come up with interesting and accurate answers to science questions.

Oral Day 9 Picture Discussion
The picture depicts a scene of a Biology laboratory. From the dimensions of the room and the scientists in it. I asuume that it is taken in an university. In the background, I can see several groups of students forming teams and carrying out experiments. In the foreground, the team of four students in the foreground is made up of three ladies and one gentleman. They are clad in white suits and wearing gloves. They are in the same clothing probably because they have to wear the white suits to protect their own clothing from getting stained by chemicals at the laboratory. I can infer that they are carrying out an experiment at the moment.
In the foreground, from the facial expression of the scientists', I can tell that they are focused on doing the experiments. They should be focused when they are doing experiments and to prevent accidents. From the smiles of the two girls from the group in the foreground, I can tell that they are enjoying themselves while doing the experiment. In the foreground, the girl that is spraying the distilled water into the agar plate, looks focused. It is important to remain focused when handling experiments so as to ensure mistakes will not be made.
They might be adding more chemicals to the agar plate and run some tests on the agar plate. They might also record some observations made when adding chemicals into the agar plate.

Oral Day 7 Conversation
I live in Toa Payoh Lorong 2, Block 99C, #07-23. I love my house a lot because it brings back many childhood memories. It is a HDB executive apartment. I have a play room when I was young. I have many toys kept in that room and when I needed a break from studying, I will go to the room to play and to destress.

I do not think that I am a tidy and organised. I leave my toys laying around after playing with them. My grandmother has to clean up the mess after I had played with my toys. When I was older, I still leave mynotes and worksheets lying around. I would only file my worksheets when the examinations are coming. I know it is a bad habit and I am already trying to kick this bad habit. I would try to mop the floor once a week and clean my study table once a month.

Hygience is very important as it is needed so that we can live healthily. Good hygiene should be practiced at all times as it is beneficial to you and considerate for everyone. However, it is not possible to maintain good hygiene all the time, especially when you are not at home. I would try to always have a packet of wet wipes. It is to ensure that I can still clean my hands even though there is no toilet or sink nearby. Sometimes I will tend to forget to wash my hands. This is especially during meal times. I cannot resist the food in front of me and will start eating before I can remember to wash my hands. I must try to kick this bad habits or I may get food poisoning.

On the other hand, being too hygienic is not good as well. This is because when you are too hygienic you will tend to be very conscious about your actions and as a result, worry too much. You will also be very sensitive and try to avoid touching other people hands who are not as clean as yours. Yo may also find it problematic as you my find the urge to wash and clean your hands every now and then for fear of getting germs on your hand.

Oral Day 7 Picture Discussion
This picture depicts a scene of hawkers washing up the hawker centre. I think that the hawkers might have been asked by the government to clean up the hawker centre. There might have been a disease break-out and the hawkers wanted to improve the hygiene of the hawker centre. It is to prevent the disease from spreading to the people from their hawker centre. There might also be officials from the Ministry Of Health coming to the hawker centre to check the cleanliness of the hawker centre. Judging from the crowd looking at the hawkers cleaning up, they should be here to eat.
The hawker centre might be a very crowded place during a normal day. From the crowd outside the hawker centre in the background, I can infer that they are coming in for a meal. The market will probably look very dirty on a normal day. Or else the hawkers need not have to spend time cleaning up the hawker centre.
From the body language of the woman, I can infer that she is trying to wash this place up quickly. I feel that she probably wants to open her stall for business. From the big crowd, waiting for the hawker centre to open, she probably knew that it would be beneficial to open her stall. Hence, she is trying hard to finish cleaning up the place.
I feel that it is good thing to clean up the hawker centre once in a while. It ensures that the hawker centre is clean and free from spreading disease to their customers. At the same time, it improves the overall hygiene of the hawker centre and can get rid of pest like rats and mosquitoes.
This picture has inspired me to maintain my personal hygiene. As they say,"Wash your hands whenever you can."

Oral Day 5 Conversation
I enjoy physics. I like to deal with formulas and logical reasonings on many things. For example, I love the chapter on "energy". I want to learn how tomake use of renewable energy and therefore can reduce the impact of insufficient energy. I like the chapter on "Forces" too. I know how to overcome great loads with minimal effort. I also know how to overcome friction and the effects of friction on our everyday life.
I like working with my hands. I think that through touching, I can remember what I have learnt. Through hands-on experience, I can apply what I have learnt into my everyday life. For example, I have learnt that I can overcome the load with little effort as long as the distance between the load and effort is great. Through a simple experiment like opening the lid of a tin can by using a spoon proves the logic. I can now open a "Milo" tin with greater ease by using a spoon.
It is better to learn by doing things. Doing things engages your visual, audio and physical senses. Reading them only engage your visual senses. I feel that engaging more senses when learning makes learning more effective.
I think all the subjects are all equally important. I believe that all the subjects that we learn are all useful to our lives. I would add more science practical lessons to the school timetable rather than learning theories most of the time. Theories can also be learnt through practical lessons. I think that the school prepares me well for life. They have charisma lessons to emphasise on character development. They also have enrichment lessons and field trips to widen our knowledge. For example, the visit to the supreme court. I learnt a lot from the visit and I can link it to the chapter "Governance", that we are studying in social studies. I learnt that there should be no usage of electronic devices during a court session. When i grow older, I will know them without needing anyone to tell me. Therefore, the school prepares me well for life.

Oral Day 5 Picture Discussion
The picture depicts a scene in a classroom. Judging from the retort srand with some pulleys and the students surrounding it, I can infer that they are doing an experiment.
There is a woman on the left foreground of the picture. As she looks much older than the students in the picture and is in a different attire, I think that she is probably a teacher. From her body language and posture and action, I can infer that she is probably testing out the experiment that the students have set up in the picture. From the smile on her face, I think she is satisfied with what the students done.
The woman might have been briefing the students on how to set up the experiment like the one shown in the picture. Judging from her smile, I can tell that she is happy as the students have listened to her and followed instructions.
From their facial expressions I can see that they are focused on doing the experiment. From the students' facial expression and body language, I can tell that the students are not very confident of their experiment. Furthermore, at the right foreground of the picture, the hand gesture of the boy tells me that he does not want the teacher to test out their experiment. He was probably afraid that his group had made a mistake in the set up of the experiment. He was scared that the teacher might spot a mistake and scold his group members.
I feel that it is good thing to have experiments as part of the lesson as it is much more interestiing to learn through hands-on experiences rather than studying the bored and dull facts on the textbook.
If i were a student in the picture, I would ask the teacher on the improvements we can make on our experiments.

Oral Day 3 Conversation
I entered the inter-class volleyball competition as a captain in secondary one. I took this competition very seriously because I really wanted to win it for the class. During some school days, I would stay back with my team after school, to train. We will also play during recess, but i felt that i was too serious on winning.
During the competition, I would comment on every mistake our team made. Even though we emerge as champions, I was not happy because I forgot that winning was not the main thing to achieve. It was the fun of playing volleyball, enjoying the process of the competition and class-bonding that should be achieved. I felt bad for commenting on the team.
I enjoy competing, but not competing with others but myself. I feel that my real rival in a competition is myself. In order to win myself, I have to push myself over my limits to achieve greater potential. First, I am able to improve ny competing with myself and second, I will be able to play to my best potential.
I think children should take part in more outdoor activities. First, children can be more active. Second, they can keep fit and have a healthy lifestyle. Third, they can get to interact with more people and learn about teamwork as most outdoor activities require teamwork. Fourth, they can enjoy the sun and the nature. As people say a little sunshine is good for us.
Technology is so advanced nowadays. Graphics and sound systems are so good in games. Many children will therefore find it fun due to this wonderful visual and audio systems. Those that create these games will also make the games interesting such that some children get addicted to it.
The disadvantage of such games are that children get addicted to them and neglect their studies. Children might have low self confidence in their life. They can be very strong and muscular in their games but these are all virtual. They are not that strong and muscular in reality. These games may harm your eyes if you spend long hours in front of the computer or television.
