Where's all this lovely weather?

Morning lovely Bloggers. Can we have some of the warm sunshine here in Yorkshire that the rest of the country seem to have please??? The lovely weather people keep saying it's been the warmest weekend of the year so far....well not here it's not!!

Anyway, despite the weather I had a lovely Mother's Day visiting both my Mums. We are lucky that they live very close so could spend time with both. Silly me forgot to took photos of the cards I made for them but I might have to pop round and take a sneaky one for you!!

I was also very blessed in receiving a beautiful handmade card from my DD and a set of stamps. I also had my tea made for me and was allowed to spend some time crafting, a perfect day.

I hope you enjoyed your day as much.

Thanks for popping by and Happy Crafting!

A Touch Of Spring

Morning lovely Bloggers. I'm not joining in WOYWW this week as time is so short that I can't guarantee I'll be able to visit many desk and so feel it's unfair to join in. Hopefully I'll be back on the register next week.

Instead I wanted to share a couple more of the samples I made for Sheena the other week. I have definitely got in the mood for spring and this inspired both of these makes.

The first is one of the huge butterflies cut in half to make them flutter on the blossom branch.

And I was inspired by the flowers in the garden to make this wreath. I think I might be making this again as I really enjoyed it. May be a project for my craft club ladies!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Wednesday whatever you are up too.

A Fluttering Of Butterflies

Morning lovely Bloggers on another glorious morning. I'm getting used to this!!

Just popping by this morning with another sneaky peek from Sheena's new stamps. She only has one show on Saturday at 3pm so catch it if you can, they really are beautiful stamps.

These huge butterflies come in a set of two that match perfectly so that you can stamp with one and fit the other over the top to add detail embossing. I've only used one in this card but I'll share them both tomorrow.

I'll give you two guesses what I used for it!!!!! Yep, it's all H20's except the detail picked out on the butterflies which is the vine green Silk from Set 1.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Thursday.

WOYWW 249

Morning dear crafters and lovely WOYWW friends. I hope I find you well this Wednesday morning and enjoying the sunshine we've been lucky enough to have had here in Yorkshire over the last few days.

I was missing from the WOYWW register last week but am present and correct again today. If you want to join in with this desk fun, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

My desk this morning is strewn with my Project Life page for last week.

I'm managing to keep up with a page a week so far but have to keep lots of bits of paper with notes on as sometimes it can take a while to catch up and I forget the little things that have happened. There are also lots of bits and pieces scattered around as I'm trying to do lots of things at once instead of finishing on thing before moving onto the next!!!! You can just spot my lovely twisted cowl at the back that Jan (LLJ) kindly made me last year. I wore it yesterday when I walked into town as it's decidedly chilly still in the mornings.

Before I get on with some desk hopping I thought I'd share with you a couple of photos I took yesterday that just made me smile.

Spring!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Wednesday.

Spring Has Sprung Along with Some New Stamps

Afternoon lovely bloggers. I can't believe I'm typing this with the windows open, the birds singing and sunshine pouring in. What a difference a week can make. I've had three days out in the garden and loved every minute. I hope you are enjoying the spring sunshine too. All that wind and rain seems a very long time ago now thank goodness.

I've just popped by to share a sneaky peek of the latest release of stamps from Sheena. She will be sharing them on Create and Craft this Saturday at 3pm. I know that will make those of you that work very happy!!

This set are butterflies and flowers and they are gorgeous. I couldn't stop playing with them and I know the rest of the team feel the same so I hope you like them.

I made the background for this card by dribbling PVA glue over some watercolour card, something I saw in this month's Craft Stamper magazine, and then, when it was dry painted over with H20's and over stamped with a blossom from the new set. A leaf was silver embossed around the edge and painted in with more of the purple H20. The main flowers were painted with more H20's and cut out. Can you tell I'm totally in love with H20's!!!

If you want to see what the rest of the Inkoids have created, you can find the link HERE.

I'll be back tomorrow for WOYWW and hopefully share another of my makes with you so enjoy your evening and Happy Crafting.

A Few More Sheena Samples

Morning lovely Bloggers. I hope I find you well this sunny Saturday morning. Another week has whizzed by and another month...how did that happen??

I hope you managed to catch some of Sheena's show on C&C last Thursday with her new Village mystery stamps. I thought I'd share another few samples I made for the show with you today as they really are lovely stamps and very useable for lots of occasions.

This first one is using the Faux bleaching technique with distress inks. I love doing this and splitting up the image seems to work really well, although I did extend the bottom one slightly to get a gradually disappearing line instead of just a straight end!!

I sprayed the finished card with some pearl spray to move the ink around and give it a lovely shimmer.

This next one is just very simply silver embossed and mounted on embossed card. It makes a very lovely wedding card I think and one I will definitely be using again.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Crafting.

WOYWW 247

Morning dear crafters and lovely WOYWW friends. I've been missing in action for a couple of weeks. For the first time ever the last time I joined in WOYWW I managed to visit every desk although only managed to leave comments on most!!! I think I wore myself out as I've had to lie down in a darkened room for a while. Only kidding!! I've actually been busy with life stuff and last week was away with some crafty mates.

So....here is my desk this morning...look it's light..and sunny!!!!! Yay that must mean we are heading in a springlike direction at last.

Most importantly I have a cuppa on the go. Santa brought me some distress paints for Christmas that were still sealed up so I have been having a play, not totally successfully, but I've now had a look round the internet and am ready for further experimentations!!!  I will share the results next week. You can see the pile of papers building up on my mat.

Last time I was playing with the Faux Leather technique with kraft card and here is one of the little notebooks that I've made up.

I taught my group at craft club how to do this and they loved it. We are having a "part 2" next time as we only got as far as making the covers last week. The lining and pages still need to be added.

Right that's me and my desk. If you want to share yours, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

Enjoy your Wednesday and I'll be round to see what you've been up too after work.

Happy Crafting.

A cuppa anyone??

Afternoon lovely Bloggers. I hope your week is going along smoothly.

I'm just popping by with another peek from Sheena's new stamps. This time it's cake and a cuppa!! Well I've got the cuppa but forgot the cake!!

I went pretty with this card, something that doesn't come naturally. The images are coloured with promarkers and I made the flowers from uncompressed paper. It's a waste product that my DH brings home from work and I love making flowers with it. It's soft and feels like felt but takes ink and cuts like paper, fab stuff.

Can you believe it's after 5pm and still light. I like these signs of spring!!

Thanks for popping by and happy Crafting!!

A Village Mystery

Afternoon Bloggers. It's been another beautiful day here in Yorkshire. So much so I had to make myself stay in my craft room instead of heading for the garden!! Maybe tomorrow!!

I'm just popping by today with a Sneaky Peek of the new stamps Sheena will be launching on C&C this Thursday at 9am, She has gone down the route of Miss Marple this time with some gorgeous stamps inspired by period mystery stories.

This is one of my favourites.

The background is brushed out Distress ink, hope you are not getting bored of this style, I hadn't realised how much I do it!! The car has been black heat embossed and painted with Poppy red H20, triple clear embossed and decoupaged to make it stand out.

The rest of the Inkoids have created some stunning samples so pop over to have a look if you get a minute. The link to their blogs is HERE.

I'll be back tomorrow with another one so enjoy your Monday evening and thanks for popping by.

Happy Crafting.

A Little Bit Magical!

Afternoon Bloggers. I hope your weekend is going well. Thank goodness the weather seems to have calmed down a bit. It was positively springlike here in Yorkshire yesterday and I actually managed to spend a few hours in the garden and got some washing dry in the breeze too. Can't be bad!

Sorry I've been missing in action for a while. We had an Inkoids Retreat with Sheena last week in Newcastle which was great fun. We tried out some new goodies that will hopefully be coming your way soon and generally had a right laugh. It was lovely to be able to craft in fantastic company in a lovely location. I'm looking forward to the next one already.

So today I thought I'd share a card I made for the last show Sheena did on C&C a week or so ago which she demoed, a great honour indeed.

The stamps are from the "Little Bit Magical" set and I used Walnut Stain and Forest Moss Distress ink for the background and brushed the inked lines out with water and coloured the mushrooms with promarkers.

Well that's me today. I'm off to try out my new Distress Paints. I'll be back to share the results if things go well!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!
