2 Year Stats

We finally had Jace's 2 Year Well Check today. I was prepared for a very uneventful visit with hopes of getting in and out because as usual we have a lot to do today. On the drive there, I heard Jace in the back saying, "Uhhh, Get it out!" His finger was up his nose and he had a box of raisins in his hand. GREAT!

Me: Jace did you stick a raisin up your nose?
Jace: Uhhh, sniffing....and trying to blow
Me: Take your finger out of there.
Jace: Get it out!
Me: We are going to the doctor and we'll have him help us.
Jace: Sneezing.....Uhhhh
Me: Jace we don't stick anything up our nose okay.

When we got to the Doctor, I told him he possibly has a raisin up his nose and he said he'd take a look. Yep, there it was. A big long pair of tweezers later, the raisin was retrieved and Jace was much happier. Apparently J stuck things up his nose when he was a toddler too so I can't be too surprised. When the appt. was over, Jace asked for his raisin again and when I gave them to him, he immediately said, "No, No, No... no stick raisin up nose". The doctor and nurse laughed. He's been talking about it ever since.

Here are his 2 Year Stats:

Height: 37 1/4 inches 95%
Weight: 31.2 lbs 75-90%
Head: 19 1/8 50%

The doctor said his growth couldn't be any more perfect and his vocabulary if fantastic and off the charts. Yeah! I'm so happy he is healthy and growing well.

Random Everything

We've been crazy busy lately and this is the first time I have sat down to download pictures in weeks, which is very unlike me. So here is a quick recap of some of the excitement we've been up to and also just some of the everyday happenings around here that make our life wonderful. At the beginning of February, we had a big Birthday Party for all the kids plus more who we had the "Birthday Bash" for last year. Marci hosted it again and we all had fun catching up. Here are all my good friends that I just love! I am holding Stephanie's (to the left in the picture of me) little girl Ashley. She always lets me hold her whenever I want!
Parties aren't always easy for Jace. He really doesn't like posing for pictures and that is just what happens at parties where there are a lot of cute little one's. I love the other 2 boys expressions. The cupcake finally made him at least willing to stand with the others. Thanks Marci for putting this together, maybe next year Jace will actually smile at you!!!!
Cute Jace enjoying a cookie.
On Valentine's Day, we woke up and had chocolate chip heart shaped pink pancakes, strawberries and pink milk. Jace loved it. He even got a sucker at breakfast because we made the mistake of letting him open his treat bag right when he got up.
Here he is happy to be eating a sucker at 8:00 in the morning along with chocolate in his pancakes. Such a sweet smile.
Later that day we had Jace's friend Ashley's Birthday party. And the rest of our romantic Valentine's Day was spent preparing talks to speak in church the next day. Ooh La La!
Daddy bought Jace a lawn mower and it has been a huge hit. He plays with it all day long and helps Daddy mow outside too. So far the novelty hasn't worn off yet like most of the rest of his toys have.
Jace is coming up with such interesting things lately. He has an incredible imagination. He wanted this makeup case holder thing on his head to be a football helmet. And he is using his golf club as a weed eater. He goes around the house all the time making a humming sound like Daddy's weed eater does and pretends to cut things.
Isn't he so loveable?
I was in on the computer one night and I heard J call my name and say "You've got to come see this." When I ran over there I noticed Jace laying by Dad. He had lined up all his cars around his head and wanted J to play with him instead of pretending to sleep on the floor.

We took another trip to the Zoo. This time with my friend Michelle who lives in Katy,TX and her two girls. "Wake up", as Jace kept saying to this goat. He loves the petting zoo.

Highlight of this trip was riding the lion in the little zoo store afterwards. Here is the best video I can get of Jace singing his new favorite song, "Latterday Prophets". He sings it much better than this now but I'm keep forgetting to video it.

HELP, I CAN'T STOP

I feel like Everyone in our ward, neighborhood, grocery store, and gym are sick. I worry about them, I worry about us getting sick, and I worry that my husband thinks I am going literally crazy trying to avoid the "plague". Please FLU, I beg of you, leave us all alone.

Dear friends, family, and neighbors....I hope you all feel better soon.

Copy Cat

I think this is so sweet. I had been painting my toes one morning and Jace seemed to be very interested. I let him play with the other closed bottles of nail polish. When I went to find where he had taken them, he was trying to make sure Annie looked good too.

Great Family and Friends

Jace and I got back last night from an over 2 weeks trip to Salt Lake. I can't believe it has come and gone that quickly, however it seemed like an eternity to be away from J and home. My Mom and Grandma had to have surgery around the same time (they live together) so Jace and I thought we'd go help out in any way we could. We may have ended up causing more excitement and chaos that they needed, but it was great spending time with everyone. We spend all day everyday over there and usually visited friends and the rest of our family at nights. Needless to say, Jace got little sleep, I got little sleep, and the people who needed rest more than anyone, my mom and Gma, ended up entertaining a 2 year old more than anything. Oh and I didn't do my hair once the entire trip. Thank goodness for long hair and buns. Here are some highlights from our getaway.

We left the day before Jace's 2Nd Birthday to take advantage of the airline rules. The Sunday before we left I decided to quickly throw a cake together so J and I could celebrate our little guy as a family. (This was a last minute trip or else I hope I would have had more planned and done a better job on the cake.) He loved the football cake and licked up all the frosting on his piece.

Forgive the simpleness and everything else!

When we flew to Salt Lake, it was during his normal nap time and Jace has never not had a nap since the day he was born. He is one who needs sleep whether he thinks he does or not. Within minutes of being picked up from the airport, he was out!

Here is the Birthday Boy on his Birthday. His blowing skills are my favorite.

I was able to visit an old friend who just had a baby Boy. Cher was a roomie in college and Andrea and I had a great visit with her.
I look horrendous in this picture, but the kiddies look too cute to not include it.
Hug goodbye, till next time. Little Lucy kept trying to hug Jace while he gave her his version of a hug which is "the lean in".
Uncle Chris came in town while we were there and he has always been a favorite of Jace's.
Here is a reenactment of a picture of J when he was a little boy. Once I get the original I'll do a post on it.Probably 70% of the time we spend on my mom's was spent being entertained by my Grandma Brown. Jace wanted her attention all the time. He would bring every toy into her room to just play by her even if she was resting or asleep. If he wanted her to wake up, he would stand right next to her and say, "Wake up!" "Good Morning" or "Hi". She said she loved it, but she got no rest at all until I made him come do something with me.
Proof of little sleep happening. He got his blankets and tried to take a nap on her floor.
Jace's cousin Belle was so good to Jace. She loved playing in his pack 'n play and making forts over it. Jace squealed the entire time. Belle would ask me every time we got home if she could go up and play in there.
Our future musician enjoying playing the piano at Nana B's (my moms).
Jace would ask for a snack in this specific cup every day and take it in to Grandma's to snack with her.
Here is another friend that I haven't seen in years and years. Thanks Jess for taking the time to come to my mom's to see me.
My brother Dan, his wife Beka, me, Andrea, and her husband Kyle. Kyle was also the favorite of Jace's. He would ask for him every day and then tell me he was at work. Jace would play with him forever too.

Another old friend and old roommate Megan. She is a twin too. Thanks Meg for the visit. It is fun to be able to not see each other in who knows how long and still be able to relate about everything and still feel close.
One of many cousin baths. Side note: Jace had a hard time with little baby cousin Nixon (right) this trip. He is getting bigger and I think Jace felt a bit threatened. When we told him Nixon was going to get in the bath he said, "No". So I told him it was Nixon's turn so Jace needed to get out since he'd been in a while. I got his diaper on then Jace said, "Jace's turn" and asked to get back in. I did let him and he immediately told all of us, "Nixon out". We laughed and they all stayed in and had fun.One of a few visits seeing my Dad and Anne and Jace's friend Scooter. He is getting a great cheesy smile.

Thanks to everyone for putting up with us while we intruded for way too long on all of you. You were all so very hospitable and took such good care of us. We miss you all already.

For Mom

I have had 2 weeks to be here for my mom and pay her back for when she is always there for me.  I can't believe these weeks are over.  I will miss sitting in her presence and learning from her wisdom and faith.  I am amazed by her strength and compassion.  It is moments like the past 2 weeks that I wish I could hold onto forever.

I am so blessed to have her in my life and blessed to have the support of my entire family while I am here.  Jace and I have really been taken care of well.  Thank you mom and thank you to all of you.
