My kids have been asking to go to Oregon to visit their cousins all summer. Finally I scheduled it. Then I rescheduled. Then scheduled it. Then rescheduled it. And then we actually went.
But we didn't get very far very quickly. Dude Bay Area, traffic is terrible! Nothing new but still annoying.
Then as we were driving I was unpleasantly reminded of the drought. I mean seriously. Droughts are lame.
And then finally we were in Oregon. It was a long drive since I was so tired from the most amazing Taylor Swift concert the night before.
And the kids picked up right where kids always pick up.
These kids really do have so much fun together.
And wow...boys be fighting! I really only know girls and Pacen and he wasn't that crazy little boy. He was pretty mellow and so when I see dodge and blake fighting all the time it just makes me laugh because boys and girls are just wired differently.
And yes, there was an injury in the making of this picture. You see on the right Kaylee go down....
And Blake fall right on her face! Poor baby! But pretty hilarious too! :)
Cousins. There was only one cousin that we saw growing up and she was a lot older than us so we didn't have this kind of relationship. I love that my kids have cousins. Cousins are awesome.
Operation: Lemonade Stand.
My kids have been asking to do a lemonade stand for awhile now (IE Two years!) and I never have the stuff or it's not the right time or I'm just boring and don't want to do it but luckily for my kids....Shauna is awesome! Here we are on our adventure to Wal-Mart to get the needed supplies. Shauna looks like a crazy pregnant lady with 10 kids.
Wal-Mart shopping cart shenanigans.
Shauna and Pacen. Pacen is a treat-a-holic and kept sneaking in the kitchen to snitch the dough! Shauna was going to teach him a lesson and throw flour all over his head....too bad that mess is not worth it! :)
Maren was obsessed with Shauna's kitchen. And her train set. The girl needs a train set in her life.
Cousins!
More cousins! Yes, Daisy, Claira is weird and can't take a normal picture these days. :)
Victory!!! Lemonade stand success! $31.32 I believe was their total. Or $32.21. Either way they made some money that they could share. Mission accomplished.
Maren was so tired but obviously wouldn't take a nap. But swinging on this little horse toy did the trick.
The kids enjoyed some pool time after they were sweating to death from working so hard selling that lemonade. Shauna has such a great house and yard. We both are really lucky to have a pool. I will never not have a pool anymore. I'm totally hooked.

I left Camry, Claira, and Gentry with Shauna and I have to say, I was really emotional about it! Claira was basically kicking me out the door! She's been asking for something like this all summer long and I'm happy that she finally got to do it. Gentry has had one melt down and thank goodness for FaceTime so I could cheer her up. And camry has her iPod now so we can message and it's super cute. They watched Father of the Bride last night and Shauna and I were texting about if it was appropriate for them to watch it and she said something about the scene where they talk about condoms and hopefully it'll just pass by over their heads. Then I get a text that said this, "Claira asked what a condom was after the comment in the movie (of course they picked up on it). I said, "A condo is a type of house." She was satisfied and said that she had even stayed in one before."
hahahahahahahah!!!! Oh my gosh I was dying. I'm impressed by how quick Shauna was on her feet!
And Claira also said that Shauna was "modern" because she cleaned her house. And that I have a friend who is "modern" because she cleans her house. I'm wondering what word she is really thinking of and why the heck I'm not "modern"! Ha! I love that Claira.
And I had to document how terrible the air was. This is Mt. Shasta. Oh wait....you can't see it....Neither can I because of all the smoke. Poor California is on fire!
