Friday night Family time.

The other night Than had a grand idea to take the kids downtown and listen our friends band at a restaurant and enjoy the great weather in the WC.  It turned out to be a great night, even though we had to wait a while for a table and the weather got chilly and gentry ended up falling backwards off a chair. That is the life when you take five kiddos out on the town!
I love that we do stuff like this.  Not a lot of people take all their kids out to restaurants very often for various reasons.  Our kids are generally very well behaved and enjoy spending time with us still so its a win win.
A lady stopped by our table on her way out and told me what a beautiful family we had and how lucky we were.  I love when we can be that kind of example instead of the family that people roll eyes at and say under their breath something rude about over populating the earth.  Big families are awesome!  I love it everyday.
While we were waiting Gentry was entertaining us.
What a cute 2 year old gangsta!

Today was a great day.  I don't have an photographic evidence of it but we had a rather productive morning of piano and clean up and school book work and then headed off to San Ramon to try out a new pool.  New to us anyway.  And it was exactly what we were missing....A utah pool!  We always talk about how we miss our Utah pools with all the kiddie areas and slides and little mushrooms where the kids can just run around and be crazy.  And now we have it!  It was so fun and the kids had a great time.  They even had a super high dive that pacen and camry both went off and a big slide that was pitch black all the way down and was super fun.  All for the price of 4$ per person!  It seemed like a steal for the bay area!  We love utah-esque pools!  And now we have one!
Then it was basketball for Pacen and then FHE.  We talked a little about pioneers and shook cream until it turned into butter.  Sounds better than it really was because our kids were being kids and not participating very well but fun nonetheless.  And Than and I got to use Becca living here (they'll be leaving soon...sad!) and went to the gym.  Mondays don't have to be so bad!

Full House.

Best thing we ever did was introduce our kids to Full House.
Okay, that might be an exaggeration but seriously, my kids are obsessed and I really enjoy watching them with them.  It's a total blast from the past but it is so fun.  Gentry tries to be like Michelle and was even perfecting her, "Got it, Dude!" the other day.  Camry will give me recaps on episodes that I didn't watch with them but little does she know I've already seen all of them and know exactly what she's going to tell me.  Even Pacen loves it.  Oh man...TGIF.

Oregon

Shauna planned Dodge's baby blessing around the fourth of July holiday, so a bunch of Hancock's invaded her house literally DAYS after she had her baby.  She's nuts.  But it was a lot of fun to hang out together and meet our new, sweet, sweet nephew.
We did a lot of swimming while we were there.  A lot of hanging out on the deck which resulted in lots of splinters since it was in the middle of being sanded and stained but no one complained!

I had a photo session with some of the kids doing jumps into the pool.
Scotty was the craziest.  No surprises there!

Camry's first flip into the pool!  And now she has mastered flipping off of the diving board too!

Pacen learning to flip!
Then there is this little turkey.  She is a swimming fool now!  We can't get her out of the water.
Cute cousins and crazy cousin interrupting our photo shoot!

Little Miss Maren enjoying the entertainment in the pool.

Blake and Than bonded this trip.  Blake loved to shoot his gun at Than and Than helped teach him how to swim.  They look a lot alike and it's just cute.

Fireworks!

Tried to do cool pics with our sparklers but it was not dark enough and I didn't have my tri pod.  Next year we will be more prepared.  And more patient! :)

Maren was entertaining me trying to get to this cup.  Keep your eye on the prize, Maren!

Up on her knees!  She's still not crawling but is getting awful close.
My little inch worm!

Fourth of July Parade!
This was actually the best parade I've ever been to I think.  We only had to walk a few blocks and we found a big, grassy, shaded area.  And then all of a sudden, an insurance company behind us started offering FREE hotdogs!  It was amazing!
And then Than and Walt came back with cotton candy!  It really doesn't get any better than that!
Cotton Candy in one hand and a hot dog in the other.

We also went to the movies and saw Despicable Me 2.

We did take up an entire row!
One night Than, Camry and I took in a show in Ashland.  Now we are still singing My Fair Lady all the time!
More pictures of Maren because I just can't help myself!

We had so much fun in Medford!  It's only a six hour drive and we should do it more. Everyone has such a great time and it's beautiful.  Until next time...
